  1. Messed around a bit tonight with the SAMv2 parameters. It's a lot less terrifying when it comes in to dock with some easy tweaks. These are for a small block ship, large block will at least need the MAX_SPEED reduced to 395.

    You can copy/paste this whole section (replace what is currently there) or just update the highlighted values.

    private static float HORIZONT_CHECK_DISTANCE = 2000.0f;
    private static float MAX_SPEED = 495.0f;
    private static float APPROACH_DISTANCE = 100.0f;
    private static float DOCK_DISTANCE = 20.0f;
    private static float UNDOCK_DISTANCE = 20.0f;
    private static float DOCKING_SPEED = 1.5f;
    private static float APPROACH_SAFE_DISTANCE = 50.0f;
    private static float TAXIING_SPEED = 10.0f;
    private static float COLLISION_CORRECTION_ANGLE = (float)Math.PI / 7.5f;
    private static string ADVERT_ID = "SAMv2";
    private static string ADVERT_ID_VER = "SAMv2V";
    // private static int ADVERT_VERSION = 2;
    private static string STORAGE_VERSION = "deadbeef";

  2. Yep, survival with creative tools is definitely the way to get a feel for the game without the complexity of managing resources.

    Even for an experienced player, managing a survival game while playing solo is very tedious. Just starting out, you're absolutely going to crash a lot of ships. We all did. Even when the game is working perfectly, ships don't always perform the way you think they're going to. There are also massive margins for human error. Plus the mandatory sacrifices to the diety Clang.

    If you already have a survival save started, load it up, hit ALT+F10 to open the Admin Menu, and then check the "Enable creative mode tools" and I would also suggest the "Invulnerable" box as well. With creative tools, you don't need materials in your inventory, when you place an object it is automatically complete. No welding required. You can also right click a block to instantly remove it. With Invulnerable, you don't have to worry about oxygen or energy for your character; the bars can be completely empty and everything is still fine. You can also use Shift+F10 to open the Spawn Item menu. You can use this to fill ship inventories to get a feel for how it will perform fully laden.

    I will stop harping on about this incase I'm getting annoying.

    Not at all... I'm sort of in the same boat as Zeno - I've been on the fence about getting VR or not, so I do like hearing the feedback on how gaming is coming along in that regard.

    I'm not really a racing guy and never got into the realistic flight sims, so I feel like my VR gaming selection options would be fairly limited.

    Which brand do you use or do you have recommendations on ones to check out?

  4. I hit the PCU limit, probably going to need to bump that up.

    Related, there are now proper quarters on the asteroid base. Claim your rooms and park your bodies over there so I can repurpose that current cryo room :)

  5. Hey Gunny, good to see ya.

    As Zeno said, the forums don't get a lot of love these days. There hasn't been a good "full community" game that we've all united on since Arma 2.

    For me personally, Division 2 is getting most of the few hours I play these days. Had a good bit of fun with Ghost Recon Wildlands before that, just waiting for them to fix the end game content, what they have now wasn't done very well.

    I keep Space Engineers installed, they've been putting out some pretty nice new content via DLC packs recently. Farm Sim gets a little play time now and again. Elite Dangerous is still on my "go back to" list, it just didn't hook me in the first time, but definitely has potential.

    A lot of people are eagerly following and playing Star Citizen, but I'm waiting for proper persistence to go live before I start investing much time in that.

    I believe some of the other guys are still playing World of tanks and world of warships, but I haven't been active in the evening hours, Cy would be better to speak to what that time group of guys have been up to.

    Hope to see ya in TeamSpeak soon.

  6. Got a couple hours in between tonight and yesterday. Got two of the rogue agents taken care of.

    I skipped Conley because you said you lost the base... I still have it after doing Parnell and Kajika.

    Also, keep an eye on the gear at the vendors. I was able to buy a few couple pieces that had max rolls for the recalibration station

  7. Nice, I really like the recalibration changes. It'll take a bit of the farming grind out of it for good stats and you don't have to worry about saving the best rolls for a particular piece or set.

    Went ahead and grabbed the DLC. Its the last day for the pre-order extras, if anyone was still holding out like me.

    One of these days I'll have time to get back on and pew pew some bad guys.

  8. I don't think I ever picked up the second one... I vaguely remember playing the first one, but that was ages ago.

    Is it still super large maps that you need an epic amount of units to stand a chance?

  9. Came across this production map. Makes the ratio of the production facilities easier to see at a glance. I haven't got to electricity yet, but that clearly changes the dynamics quite a bit.

  10. Are you pinning them to your task list from the Objectives menu?

    Not at my computer at the moment to check the exact name, but there is also a setting to turn "Guided Mode" on or off, I'd make sure that is turned on.

    Can't think of any other reason they wouldn't be showing up.

    Not really interested in Breakpoint, but always happy to play Division 2.

    I did take advantage of the sale to get Breakpoint. I'm really enjoying it. It plays very very similar to Wildlands, but the main story is far more engaging. The side missions and faction missions actually enhance and add context to both the main story and the general game world.

  12. Ubisoft is having a pretty good sale. If you've been waiting on Division 2 or Breakpoint, they're both about 50% off until the 2nd.

    The Steam autumn sale is on until the 3rd, all kinds of stuff available on that.

    If you've been wanting to do some PC upgrades, today and Monday are always great opportunities for some good deals.
