  1. Standard Operating Procedure

    1 Check cable connection.

2 verify mike on another pc.

3 Start Teamspeak, click on Settings, Options, under Sound Devices, make sure Direct Sound is ticked under Sound Driver. check your input and output device. If there are different possibilties, try them. Use the Local Test under Settings, Sound Settings to verify whether your attempts have worked or not.

4 click Start, Control Panel, Sound and Audio Devices, Voice, then click on Volume. Make sure that the Select box is ticked at the bottom of the Microphone slider. You can push the slider up to increase gain and under advanced you can select microphone boost. (retest using TS).

These are the simple things, then it gets more specific to your equipment.

    Good Luck

YOU'RE THE MOTHERFUCKER WHO SHOULD BE ON BRAIN DETAIL! We're fuckin' switchin'! I'm washin' the windows, and you're pickin' up this nigger's skull!

  3. I wanted to be able to reconcile my 5 meg download speed to the 600 kbps I can achieve. Viiiper explained and i will share it with you.

The ISP speeds are measured in BITS, so 5 megabits per second (or 5,000,000 bits)

There are 1,024 bits in a KILOBIT

There are 8 KILOBITS in a KILOBYTE

The download speed that your firefox shows is in KILOBYTES per second.

So take the 5,000,000 (5 megabits) divided by 1024 to get to Kilobits = 4,882.81 Kilobits per second

4,882.81 divided by 8 (Kilobits to kilobytes) = 610.35 Kilobytes per second.

There is always some overhead in the bandwidth for "handshaking etc" so you wont achieve the full capacity.

    I hope this is useful.
