I need advice if its worth to upgrade.

I have DSL net from ATT rated as 3MB/s (that's all they have in my area)and i dont like to switch cuz i probably move to europe soon.

It is hooked up to asdl modem they give me couple years ago.

I have linksys 150N (running in b/g/n mode) router hooked up to my desktop and wifi G card in my laptop and iphone.

I like to improve quality of movies i stream to my laptop.

Youtube on 720p do not keep up with downloading.

I got today fry;s usb adaptor witch is rated N 300.

I can see improvement. My wireless jumped from 250 KiB/s to 320 KiB/s stable.

Im able to play 720p quite comfortable but 1080 is jumpy.

But when i switched my router to N only mode i was not able to connect.

What should i get? New router, new adapters?

I found this

I dont need more then 30 ft range and im mostly using my laptop withing 10 ft from router.

Price is important.

get a 50 ft. patch cable and run it across the floor. bandwidth is now max and lag is gone. it is also cheapest solution.

Other than that, you need to make sure all of your settings are either set to mixed on router or N only. Also make sure that your wifi card (NIC) is installed properly.

OS is an issue too. Win 7 is really good at PnP wifi. But XP and Vista are pretty crappy at it. So you need to make sure settings are set properly.

I hooked up my laptop to router via cable and it is slower then my wireless, not much but slower. Can't explain that.

Buying a cable is not really solution for me cuz when i go outside for smoke i use my laptop as phone for skype. I would have to run cable across my apartment.

My laptop run Vista and i don't plan to upgrade it. I'm using it 99% of the time to browse internet, watch movies and as skype videophone.
