  1. Gratz Winger!

We still have to get together for dinner sometime. It might be easier now that you are engaged because I've avoided it considering my wife's issue with foreigners/Italians. :Italy:

I didn't want her running off with you.... though, maybe we'd better wait until it is final and the ring locks in place. :)

On second thought... what time can we be there this week? I'll have her bag packed and ready. :hysterical:

Hehehahhe no no.. don t worry.. I am locked in in this deal !! hehehahe .. and.. yeah.. I am sorry about that !! lolol..

Man, really.. we need to get together.. my g/f (fiance ??!!) is usually off on Sundays, we might go for a lunch somewhere.. if you know a nice place we are always ready to try new stuff :) either your area or this way, doens t matter :)

  2. February 20th, 2012 - BatWing, of Tampa Fl, was recently found dead in his office. His hands still clutching his keyboard where he was viewing an Excel spreadsheet which broke down the cost of his upcoming wedding and how he won't be able to upgrade his video card. He will be mourned by his brethren of Legion of Sparta, who enjoyed gaming with him and worried he would not be around much longer.

"We see this happen all the time. One of the guys gets excited, starts talking to the opposite sex, and actually starts a relationship.", noted Custard. "I keep telling them not to look to me as a model just because I've survived this long. Hell, just look at Floyd..."

Funeral services will be held in Tampa at a local church, and subsequently Livecast to Cobol's pub where several members will share drinks and stories. A memorial mission will be constructed in a Arma 2 map, where LOSC members will attempt to interrupt the planned wedding via fastropes off Little Birds w/o stopping....

hehehahehhe I LOVED THIS !!!!!!!!! HEHEHAHEHEHE

Thanx everyone guys :) and hey, start plannig a trip this way by next year, I ll kepp you updated :)

  3. Yeah...

the BatGirl got the proposal and the "rock" just yesterday... now its official :) Wooohoooo

No specific date about Wedding, but it will be next year around this time of the year. It will be something simple and just Party with friends, if anyone interested to come to Tampa for the event, that would be greately appreciated, let me know !!!.. there is plenty of time to plan it :)

  4. Nice stuff :)

However, depending what is your Email provider, consider you could migrate all of your contact info online to your Email provider IF they offer the Microsoft Exchange server option.

MS Exchange server Sync allows to connect devices to the online server without having a local client, such us Outlook, downloading data.

Major benefit of this is your contacts and email data are stored online, accessible anytime, anywhere.

Major benefit is also you will never suffera loss of data and you don t need contacts backups anymore.

Major benefit is any device will get your contact list automatically.

Major benefit is you can still configure MS Outlook for the Exchange server, but it will not compromise the online sharing.

Major benefit you can sync Mails, Contact and Calendar seameless

A flaw of using mailing Clients as MS Outlook without Exchange configuration is that the Client will collect data centrilizing them to your local machine. In simple words, your Client will check your online Mail server, will download the new content and your mails will be local on your PC.

You will not be able to access any of them remotely because they will not be on your online server anymore.

Major flaw is that requires a manual Syncing with your machine daily or weekly or whatever to have data on your mobile device

Major flaw is that if your local PC crashes (besides having backups done) your email and contact data will be lost.

You do not need to be on GMAIL to have that service. Your email provider has to allow the MS Exchange configuration.

As example, i do not use GMAIL but I have all of my data on Hotmail. Hotmail allows Exchange, therefore all of my contacts, mail, calendar are synced directly to my GS2 without passing by my PC :)

  5. I am downloading that material and i should be around to test this mission, see you on TS later.

    EDIT:

Bytheway, I downloaded the mission, but do we need that? usually the host launch the mission and the Clients get the mission automatically.

    EDIT 2:

About the Avgani stuff.. that archive has a folder inside "OPX" which is not a classic @ folder. inside there are many other folders, please advice how to install this thing, thank you :)

  6. I have to be honest with you,

I love Sims and I still fly on LockOn Flaming Cliffs 2 (waiting for expansion FC 3) but I refused to get involved with this A10 sim.

Listening to ppl who enjoy it, it is definetely a well done sim. Clickable cockpit is a great enhancement to the previous LockOn series Sim. On the other end I think what really holds me to get into it, is the "passion" for the aircraft itself.

Potentially this Sim would take me back to the time when i enjoyed Falcon 4 and its derivated. But that was the Fantastic F16 !!! That Sim was like this one, a massive clickable cockpit with a great avionic reprodution, but the Star of the Day was the F16 ! No comparison, I am sorry.

If they decided to come out with a new F 16 Sim, I would be totally lost in it. F 15, as well. Of course i don t even go to F 22 and F 35 (amd i guess they are seriously protected from getting "real" Sims due to TopSecret matter).

Buttom line is, I have no passion for the A10. I do agree about its valable role as Air Support but I have no motivation to invest hundreds of hours on this Sim to master it.

  7. The single is a very short testing experience.

Can t say really... There are graphic ennhancement from ME2 but it doesn t seem substantial to me. It seems there is a bit more of flexibility using coverage.

Multi may be interesting. Is a 4 ppl Coop. I didn t play much but it seems you have to secure an area and is based on waves of incoming enemies.

I would suggest to get it and we might give it a shot, I guess it can be fun :)

  8. hehehhe My uncle in Rome still has a perfectly working Fiat 500 original 1972 (I guess). I t slike the one red in the Zeno pic, but is white, black soft top :)

That car is amazing to drive in crazy italian traffic. Congested traffic, no parking spots for miles, you move around like "skating on ice" and finally you park under a tree, taking the room of a trash can !!

And yes, you can stick your head outside the roof and gently yelling at ppl to get out of your way ! Also, my uncle mounted 2 custom honks, one is outside the door, a replica 1915 horn, you squeeze and makes a sort of trumpet sound, the other one is a huge Truck siren (I don t know how many freaking Db is that thing) mounted under the trunk.

When he honk that, i saw ppl literally jumping away of the sidewalk trying to figure out what the fuck is coming in !!!!

  9. Great News Dai! I will keep Banzai in mind for sure :)

About Hawken, yeah.. I saw that video a while ago :) As Dai said, yes... it may be interesting but is way too "Action - Anime".

In hawken it seems you have only 2 weapons (possibly custom configs) but that means the nature of the "war machine" is basically an Ultra Light Mech.... Long story short, no i didn t "jizzed" for it :)

I loved Mechwarrior but what took me involved was the Ongoing Universe. NBT made something EPIC creating the Dynamic War. That was a time when WoW didn t even existed yet.

As I said many times, I do not like any form of Team DeathMatch in any game. Ironically MW was only TDM. The War and Planetary assaults, the Economy, the scarceness of resources was what made MW unique playing on NBT.

The idea MWO is going to give a revamped engine, new destructable environemnt and out of the box The Universe you need to give a sense to the battle you will partecipate in, now that get me "jizzing" all over the place ! ;)

The only reason why NBT declined is because in the ethernal attempt to modify and do something "better", they got into the Hard Core Mech mode.

2 of my Teammates where the Lead programmers on that project. At first it was great because our idea was making MECHs difficult to pilot and shifting a bit to Sim side. Wit all the limits MW4 engine offered that was almost impossible but it came out decent. We played a great HC version for a while.

Then Phoenix Production (NBT Management) wanted to listen to a bunch of whiners who were way too much incline to the "fast combat" and the HC was modified in a way we really didn t like and we decided to leave that scenario.

I am so ready now for a new MW experience with the new PC tech we have now :)

  10. Hey there Batwing is here !! :)

Of course the invitation is open to anyone else. I just reistalled LockOn Flaming Cliffs 2 and after 1 week of working I got the profile for the X65 done... sooo now I am ready to fly :)

Don t be scared, we can keep it easy to start :)

I lost my pre-made missions when my HDD went KO but I can put down some simple training missions if ppl is interested :)

Wormy, we can also go and fly to the 104 Server (haven t been there in long time)

Let me know, let s do it man, let s do it !

  11. Yes, I was rading the same.. and i guess that is the sense.

About a possible release, really I don t see any clue about it.

However the job they are doing is impressive. Actually is afree game but for this kind of engagement i really wouldn t mind to pay a full tag for it, which I will probably d anyway, possibly buying some stuff, at least as a support to the Devs.

I really can t wait. if this comes out an half good as it looks like, this is gonna be my major game for long time!

I really hope we can raise a Sparta platoon with some consistency.

The guys involved in WoT with the CW are excited because CW makes sense. I was used to the Planetary Invasion and an ongoing Universe war when I was part of NBT. If this game is able to keep the same engagement and role playing factor, I really hope the WoT guys will be part of this !!!!

  12. She says

"what are you looking at? (slap) - you are undressing me with your eyes, can t help it uh?

Your heart is pounding, your head is spinning, thinking I ll be yours forever.... "

Yeah, way better choice writing it down, than having me saying it!!

  13. As opposed to old guys with nasty mouths? :baaasmiley:

That is way better ! way more "experience" .. compared to the "kids" :)

Hey I am reading this thread.. is getting hot ! It reminds me.. guess what.. MECH threads!!!

    :allgood:

  14. If you have an Android phone, in general settings are usually the same for every phone.

Every phone has several "radios". 1 Radio take care of phone voice and SMS, 1 take care of 3G, 1 (optional) take care of 4G or other Hi_speed wireless network, 1 take care of WiFi, 1 is GPS and finally 1 take care of bluthoot.

As a rule of thumb, don t have radios on you are not using (shut down BT if you have no devices connected).

Depending on how the connectivity for the basic 3G is (see my example with my office), you may want shut down that radio.

Go to SETTINGS and then to WIRELESS AND NETWORK (name can be different but that s the concept), then find MOBILE NETWORKS and there you should see your DATA provider or simply the 3G connection and the option to turn it on/off.

Of course your phone stays fully operative for voice and SMS but you will not have sort of internet updates (such us push emails, gadgets updates and so forth), but that translate in an 80% battery saving.

I shutted down my radio today at 10 am when i got at the office and it was 99% and right now while I am typing it s 6.23 pm (8 hrs and 20 minutes later) it is at 96%. Going ahead like this, it could last for 3 days :)

  15. hi guys,

Sometimes ppl with hi-end Smartphones complaines about Battery life. I found a solution I wan t to share with you.

My Galaxy S 2 in general has a very good battery life> of course it depends on usage but let s say just as standby i can easily achieve around 15 hrs standby.

I noticed tho that a lot depends on your location and how hard the radio needs to work to provide the Internet connection.

At my home i have excellent coverage and my phone easily goes 15 - 18 hrs standby with all the radio active. On the other hand i was going nuts because at my office, in my room I have horrible reception (phone is fine, Internet is bad) and my battery was gone in 6 hours!!!.

I was trying to limit the active connections to the minimum but then i discovered that the massive work the radio tries to do "just to get the Internet connection" was draining my battery.

My solution has been to shut down the 3G radio when at the office. for 8 hours is no more a "smart" phone but just a phone... or i take a walk outside to take a break and I turn the radio on again... I mean, i do not really need my phone to struggle for the intenrnet when I have the internet on my PC for 8 hrs.

As a result, got almost 30 hrs standby. So if you have any similar issue, do not go nuts to find what process in background try to use internet... just shut down the radio and your battery will be happy ;)
