  1. I have BF2 and started playing it again for some time (after 1 year off). I still enjoy it now and then and would hook up with some of you guys for this.

Also invite him in the amazing world of IL2 :-). Kamina is doing great (taking off just fine after 3/4 tries and landed yesterday already!).

This week he'll be able to land on a carrier, just wait and see.

Zathrus ! What about you, my friend? Go up that attic and get your X45 down together with IL2. I miss you in the skies !

Durka ! You too ! You have such good missions and all of us loved the coop missions, remember?

Anyway, e_money, notify me when Vegas 2 is out sothat I can go buy that game too. I just hope it still runs on my system (meanwhile 4 years old :P).

  2. Thanks to Kamina, there's more than 1 player in Legion of Sarta again for IL2.

Hope that the rest of you, the "oldskool guys" at least, will dig up their joystick and game (Zathrus, shame on you ... install the game, brother !) and fly !

Kamina is doing good and will be able to shoot down some bogeys very soon.

Thanks for joining, Kamina. Had fun tonight.

PM me or drop me a message when you want to go up in the air, any time.

Probably tomorrow at around 10 pm I'll be online (GMT-1, that is).

  3. thanks for the replies, but what about the specs? Is it really necessary to go under 5ms of reaction time?

I have my eyes on this one in particular, heard and read a lot of great reviews and it has 2ms of delay only.

    http://www.forcom.be/?product=300259 which is Samsung 226BW 2ms 22" TFT (3000:1)

There's this other model: Samsung 2232BW 2ms 22" (http://www.forcom.be/?product=301327), which has the "improved (?) glossy black extra", that should make black the way it should be, but on the other hand at the same time mirrors you/your background.

Difference between 226BW and 2232BW is 10 euros, but still not sure why I should choose one or another.

    Any comments more than appreciated.

  4. Hey guys,

I know that some (or most of you) have 22" or even bigger monitors.

    My questions are:

    - can all games be played with FULL utilization of your screens, or are there black bars on the sides for some of them

    - maybe you have to change the .exe file of the program/game (adding the resolution in the shortcut or so?)

    - which ones do you have, and why (because of #ms delay, refresh rate, customer service, recommended by, brand, etc. etc.)

    - isn't 24" too big to play (moving ur head for all the time, or "ghosting" due to the higher delays ...)

Reason is I'm trying to save some money sothat I can buy one around June/July this year and you can't start doing some research early enough, right?

    Thanks up front!

INIMIGO, YOUR ENEMY IN THE SKIES

  5. Apparently you mean non eve and non cod4 since friday night is GRnet night on server 5 for COD4.

    Yep, that's too bad ... for me at least. I don't have COD4 and I don't like EVE ....

Anyhow, hope I don't cross any lines making this post, but would like to invite any1 who is interested in any of these 3 games.

Maybe Crysis, but it's so slow and I don't like that one too much either.

    See ya

  6. IL2:1946 is the game to get, should be cheap nowadays too.

About hardware, you definitely need a joystick. I've used a HOTAS kinda joystick (Hands On Throttle And Stick) and I love it, you don't need your keyboard/mouse anymore.

Mine is Saitek X45, the newer model is the X52(Pro).

It's easy to use, you have dozens of commands/controls you can bind to your stick (and throttle) and it works like a charm.

X45 (only second hand now) you can find easily for 30 US lately. The Newer X52 goes to US 100 and above.

Some of the crew has other joysticks (without a separate throttle) but I definitely recommend to buy a "hotas". It gives you the extra "edge" and feeling in the game.

About the game, it's realistic enough not to be arcade and not too realistic (like e.g. MS' Flight Simulator) to be boring.

Dogfighting, coop, bomber missions, you name it - WE GOT IT.

The beginning may be difficult, but there's a few of us that can get you through the basics very fast.

    Fun guaranteed.

  7. I've downloaded a few, but they aren't as good as the ones we used to play, where Durka (for example) used to host.

I'll try and check them out then, save the best and will host a couple of coop-nights then for the veterans and captains among us.

Will be posting in this forum when I'll host some games, hoping we'll have some participants again.

We can't let it go, guys, coop IL2 is great, remember?

Mutilat3r, this goes for you too, you're far away, but you were always there.

    Greetings, Inimigo

  8. I would have to say that, for ease of playability and the fact that you can get into the game at any time without restarting.....OGR and Graw.

Now, the most fun coop I've ever played, that is when everbody is playing right and knows what to do, would be IL2. Just flying in formation to the objective is a challenge in itself, which is fun.

Absolutely agree with IL2. The formation flying towards the objective by itself is great I think. Then combat, the dogfights, ... Sometimes some of us actually worked with a wingman (covering the wing leader, etc.). That really is what COOP is all about.

I'm such short of time lately and can't even check my mails anymore (during the day, let alone at night), but we definitely need to take up IL2 again with all of us.... we should all agree (again) with a fix day/hour to meet up.

Will receive TABULA RASA today or tomorrow and will check that one out. Have tried EVE as well on Sunday, but that isn't my kind of game (already hated the tutorial and seems to take some time -which I do not have at the moment- to get the hang of it and get used to the game).

  9. Have bought Tabula Rasa for a cheap price off internet and will try it somewhere next week.

By any chance any1 of us is playing this game or is interested in joining me?

This will be my first Massive Multiplayer game and have decided to buy this one because of the "shooter-importance" in the game.

    Seems interesting to me.

    Let me know.

More info on http://eu.rgtr.com/en/ with some nice (in game) movies.

  10. I already installed it. What path are you talking about.

4.08, you should be able to find it easily.

To try joining multiplayer, download hyperlobby too ... it's easy to use and fast.

In hyperlobby, you just choose a nickname and pw, click on FORGOTTEN BATTLES in the dropdown list and connect.

    Have fun!
