  1. Hey Durka, good post.

I had overlooked the title earlier, so started typing below.

For connections, the way I was able to host was to remove the router.

Thinking the post was about something else:

IL2 = fly as you go

    Lomac: difficult as hell

We'll need some1 that already knows the basics ...

Last time I couldn't even have my throttle go up the same way (F-15) upon take-off .... seemed one of the "rotary buttons" on the joystick handled engine #2 while the throttle only handled engine #1.

I think we should try to find out, and share ofcourse:

    - How you bound your keys/joystick(+throttle)

    - Start learning TAKE-OFF and LANDING (which seems to be very easy)

    - how to read the cockpit (radar, weapons, etc.)

    - how you find out if you're being tracked maybe?

    - important keybinds you should remember/bind

I'll definitely post whatever I find out.

PS: I have a Saitek X-45 and can share my profile if any1 wants (for IL2 that is then)

  2. Woke up after having fallen asleep in front of tv y'day, saw on the digi-box that it was 8 am (realized I had to be at my weekend-job at 8). Jumped up brushed teeth, washed face, put on clothes and jumped into my car. Saw on the car-radio it was 6 am (digi-box was turned on on channel 800 ...). * crap *

Made some milkshake, cleaned the house a little (read: dishes, vacuum cleaning) and went to "work".

  3. ho ho ho !

    I'm still flying every weekend (IL2 1946).

For the patch, as far as I know, it's still the beta.

    Most servers still use 4.08

In hyperlobby, I changed the name to JG26_Sparta as mentioned before somewhere.

Add me and we'll fly together once more.

  4. That first one was pretty funny.

Hey Mut, what did the guy in the second video say? Was that a white guy speaking Swahili?

    Medic,

    He said:

"Amai, hedde da gezien? Hedde da gezien manne? Da was mor 5 meters vanda dak!"

(very funny accent of a farmer living close to Holland (but still in Belgium))

    freely translated

"Holy smokes, did you see that? Guys, did you see that?? That was only 5 meters from the rooftop!"

    LMAO !

  5. Hey Halli, thanks for the reply!

Though, would like to know any known differences between the same graphics card (8800GT), but from different manufacturers.

    Eg:

    PointOfView nVidia GeForce 8800GT 512MB

    vs

    Jetway nVidia GeForce 8800GT 512MB

    vs

    Asus EN8800GT/G/HTDP, 512MB

    vs

    Sparkle nVidia GeForce 8800GT 512MB

  6. Small, probably obvious lately, question:

    I've ordered a new processor:

    Intel Core2 Duo E8400 3.00GHz 6MB Boxed

Now, my question is, do I need to buy an additional cooler for the processor, or does the "Boxed" mean that it's included.

If I need one, which one should I buy? I do want to have one that is SILENT ... Now, when I start up my computer, it's like a P-51 is starting up ... too damn loud.

Also, for my power supply (needs to be quiet too), do I need at least 500 Watts?

Take into consideration that I only have a X1800XL graphics card, will be using 2 harddrives (for now, 1 SATA and 1 IDE), 1 dvd-writer and a couple of USB-ports ... if it matters when choosing the power supply.

    Thanks !!

  7. Viiiper,

Thanks for your ideas ... Here's what I got sofar:

    Motherboard: P5K-VM ( http://www.asus.com/products.aspx?modelmen...l3=542&l4=0 )

    Processor: Intel Core2 Duo E8400 3.00GHz 6MB Boxed

    What I still need:

    -power supply

    -case

    -memory

About the power supply, do I need at least 400W or at least 450W?

Graphics card will remain the same old one: X1800XL until at least the end of the year.

Plan to install 1 sata drive and an old IDE one, generally using 5 usb-slots (keyboard, mouse, webcam, joystick+trackir / or / external hdd).

memory will be simple 2GB DDR2, case I'm still looking for ... I think they are WAAAY to expensive for metal scrap.

    Thanks again for comments.

  8. System still fully crashed, but Graphics card and Hard disks are still working.

    I'm in need of:

    -case

    -motherboard

    -processor

    -ram

    -power supply (Around 500 Watts)

Any1 who is willing to sell one/more of the above, which isn't being used anymore?

I'm (still) living on an extremely low budget, that's why I'm considering buying these second-handed.

I'd like to improve current system, but don't want to spend more than Euro 300 on this.

Sofar, This is what I was thinking of sofar:

    case: around 40 euros

    processor: Intel Core2 Duo E8400 3.00GHz 6MB Boxed (at Eur 160 at forcom.be)

    power supply: 50 euros

    ram: 2GB for 40 euros

-mother board: not more than 50 euros (simple, I don't overclock anything)

anyway, any set-up that wouldn't pass 300 euros would help as well.

    thanks

  9. Thanks for the replies. Meanwhile I started up Windows again ... Solution was easier than I thought it was.

BIOS, Harddisks ... Select the SATA (C: - bootable drive) to be the 1st one and PRONTO.

Anyway, now I still have to figure out how to get my USB ports to be USB 2 ...

Am re-installing SP 2 and hope it will work, as the only solutions I was able to find y'day and today is that USB 2.0 drivers ONLY come with SP2.

    Here goes nothing!

  10. I've never tried, but what if my wife (fore example) DOES "safely remove" the SATA (c:) drive?

    Then I'm lost right?

As for the link, thanks ... that's more or less what I would try (although mentioned link refers to Win 2000).

Any other suggestions are more than welcome, sothat I can take a look right before I leave work tonight and try it.

    will let you all know.

ANOTHER Q: How do I make a USB bootable? Damn IT here don't give me permission to format anything, so I can't try it.

    All the best,

    Michael

  11. Hey Guys,

Have some problems here since y'day.

    SITUATION:

It all started yesterday when I was putting some files from/to my external HDD. It was taking soo long that I realized my USB ports aren't being recognized as USB 2.0 --> too slow !

What I did was looking for updated drivers, but found out that they 'don't exist' as SP2 for Win XP already has them for you.

Fine, I went to look and messed in the BIOS (Note to self: NEVER DO THAT AGAIN !). Result: it doesn't recognize my C-drive anymore: error message "NTLDR missing".

Since a while (probably Brazil) I always read, upon starting up, that "boot.ini" wasn't found ... but it always started up fine, so never gave too much attention.

Have googled it up, but can only find old files, for which I'm not sure if they will work.

System specs below. Please anyone help out in these issues:

    1. USB ports are not recognized as USB 2.0

    2. SATA (C:) drive doesn't boot anymore (no, no disk or diskette in any of the drives :P)

    3. SATA (C:) drive is (was) shown as a device in Windows that I can "Safely Remove" ?!

    SPECS: (TAKE YOUR LAUGH)

    Asus 939 PCI-X A8N-E Nforce 4

    Amd Athlon 64 3500+ 939 boxed Venice

    Asus EAX 1800XL/2DHTV, 256Mb

    [4x]DDR 512 PC3200

    2xIDE HD's + 1xSATA HD

    Additional info:

The SATA drive I had bought back in Brazil and installed it. It's possible that since then the USB ports weren't being recognized anymore as USB 2, but since my wife had burnt my external HD ... I didn't really care.

I want to avoid to physically disconnect my other drives to make it recognize the "C:" (SATA).

    Thanks already for usual help.

  12. Good to know Kamina, I didn't go online today as I went to play tennis (am completely broken now, as if a 16-wheeler drove over me and backed up afterwards).

I'll catch up with you in the weekend.

in Hyperlobby: JG26_Sparta ... I changed the name, but the friends list remains, so I'll see right away if you're online or not.

    Cheers

  13. Kamina,

I'm still up for flying with you each night I'm online. I enjoy it and it doesn't matter for me how good anyone is. By the way, you know how many missions I have downloaded (and Durka Durka sent me separately).

Don't give up, as I'll be around.

Goes for all of us that still wants to fly. Let me know and I am there, no doubt.

Zeno, Viiiper, thanks for your understanding but I will still keep pushing this forum to pick it up again.

    Cheers, Inimigo

  14. Hey guys,

Have been flying for too long alone under Inimigo~SPARTA~ now. Kamina and I have been flying here and there the last week, which is lots of fun too, but have been invited by JG26.(their website: http://jg26.proboards32.com/index.cgi )

    Here's acceptance by Jagdgeschwader 26: http://jg26.proboards32.com/index.cgi?acti...3415&page=1

I do enjoy playing with you all, but interests are different lately (no GRAW/EVE for me and don't have the cash to buy COD4).

If needed, remove the ~SPARTA~ from my name, but will still visit the forum regularly.

As my name (INIMIGO), apparently, isn't the easiest to remember/pronunciate ... I changed it (for JG26) to Sparta upon their request. Hope this doesn't bother anyone either. In Hyperlobby I'm signing in and playing under JG26_Sparta.

Hope it doesn't hurt to post this, if so, let me know and/or delete it right away.

Next game I will still definitely buy is R6 Vegas 2 (at least if my system can handle it).

    All the best,

    Michael
