Well that blows. I can cover you - let's pick a date. I'm actually off this Friday. Anyone else in DFW metro that wants to tag along? Or any rich people in Europe want to crash our lunch? Lol

Forgot one other tweak: the side mission timer is now static to 10 minutes. No more waiting random timeframe for next side mission.

I could, but I am at work. . The server only has keys for VOpsound at moment.
And as we have been playing, due to the sheer size of the AO, it's nice to hve aircraft to give some update where people are. But due to the camps, radiotower, and tons of infantry, land forces are a must. Eventually you have to land or give eyeball support.

There are Unix hacking tools out there that can crack the admin password. You download the ISO, burn to a CD and boot with it. It will then replace the existing password with something else. No guarantee that it might not nuke something else., but I have had to do that on Windows 2000 and XP.

I am toying with Xeno's latest Domination, 1.17T and trying to find a mix of play that will allow for land dom as well as air so that we can all play well together in the same sandbox. We seem to have 4 'groups' of players on the servers (Tactical Land, Air Dom, Side Mission junkies, and Rambo's). What make this mix of individuals on the same server hard is that the AO's are wiped out by a handful of rambo's or air dom guys. Might of found a solution:
Whats new:
- The AO's are HUGE. 1100 m radius on most compared to original 300m. Those LZ's you are used to are defunct now as they are within the redzone. New battle plans necessary.
- There are now only 10 possible AO's, not 24. This is so we don't overlap AO's or get too close to base (Vybor would of been a nightmare). But due to the size of the AO's, some include multiple townships. Stary and Novy Sabor are within the same AO for example.
- Side Mission rewards are under review to keep balance.
- Higher AI - they flank, they snipe
- More AI - @ 3 times the normal to fit the AO. More armor, more sniper teams, etc. Lots more reloading your ammo on this map.
- Camps - new to 1.17T, taking AO is more than just blowing the radiotower and maybe a secondary main objecteive, 3 camps are spawned within the AO and must be conquered. But be aware the Russians will retake them.
- Z3no's vehicle repair sites, additional land dom vehicles, and ammo boxes.
We have had 2 beta tests of this and so far it has worked well. As the AO circle is so large, flanking enemies are always a concern since we typically attack from one LZ. This map, by having a larger sandbox with more targets, lends itself to allowing multiple attack groups of either land or air.
At the moment, it is playing on my test server, KalXen's Sandbox. I will be making some final tweaks on it tonight and sending to Z3no to post on the US server.
EDIT: Side missions have a static spawn timer of 10 minutes after completion.

BTW: I have every Friday off for the rest of the year (my variation of vacation since I can't take most other days). So I'll try to be on for the European Tactical timezone.

There are some MMO's that are not pay for play, but not sure if they are worth it. You can also donthings like NeverWinter Nights servers where people have tried to make persistent world servers. CyLawyer may know more on this.

I was also very good in archery during college. I ended up getting involved in a LARP called Amtgard and continued to enjoy it. 60' yews are very nice, but not cheap - about $600-$900 for a good one. You can drive an arrow into a tree fairly well and it will keep your arm in shape for sure.

Another quick fix for normal TacDom -> disable parajump poles altogether. No more rambo's completing the map before the main group gets ramped up.

VST3 and RTE need to be hosted from your PC though, not a dedicated server, correct?

Could make a moderated/GM game. You could make a player class (like engineer) that has access to game mechanic triggers to the server. Add a menu to them which would allow access to spawn troops, determine next AO, force counterattacks, etc.

MH6 - I have been getting many requests for your version of the map.
Ebden - the team captain version of moderation requires people to plan on working as a team in agreement first, that's why it works well for Tactical night. Medic's concern are for nights like last night where I joined the server and had to kick 10 people in the first 30 minutes of play for either not reading the TS no fly rule or excessive TKs, compounded by the fact that the towns were being completed in 8 minutes each.
Re: babysitting - This is not a lose lose situation from a long shot people. A quick way I have seen to clean up the pub server is to switch to nighttime Veteran. Allllllllll the noob stuff ends in about 5 minutes, people are forced to check their targets and communicate. The regular difficulty setting just shows you exactly what your next target is and there is no need to work with others. I personally like seeing it on the map, but rather play VetMode for the teamplay. As for air assets in the normal server, either remove fixed wing
altogether or let them be laser guided only.
Another option is to limit the server to 20 players instead of 40. This will force people to use all of our servers and make each town a bit more challenging.

i personally will never by a pre built desktop again sadly i cant build my own laptop but alias, not too bad but i perfer a asus mobo and well i built mine before i could have 24gigs of mem. <_ but not bad.>
It actually has an Asus MB in it.. and does SLI..

Ok, I normally build my own PC but maybe I'm lazy, and wanted something quick, so I decided to find a prebuilt. I was looking around for one that has some of the main items I wanted - i7-920, GTS 260, and DD3 RAM.
I came across the HP E9290F at Frys and picked it up today.
HP e9290F for specs. Not too bad for $1200. The GTS 260 also has 1.8gig of RAM, which I can't find anywhere else. Now going through all these Windows 7 tweaks tos ee what I can do to get this thing humming.

Yes, in the script it's called "island defense". Is definatelty on and the AI has small groups whose goal is to attack the main airfield and destroy bonus vehicles. There are a handful of spawn points where ground or air appear. Hence how we have seen 3 MI-24's flying in unison in the past.
As for more convoys, it can be arranged. It's all scripted in there for each side mission type and we can add or replace side missions. I'd also love to add in a side mission for blowing bridges or dams. Just not sure I've ever seen a bridge in anything but Sahrani.
I have not double checked the side mission overlaps with the main AO, but it is possible that we could have some overlap.
My goal right now is to focus on more content, not bigger toys so I'm up for any tweak ideas here.
