ArmA Revive Maps

We have found a source for ArmA maps that are either modded or written initially to allow in mission revives.

There are various vintages of both the revive and spectating scripts and some have a few eccentricities that must be worked around to fully enjoy these maps.

1) Use a 'vanilla' instance of ArmA to run these maps (ie no mods). This is an 'until further notice' situation as we hope to be able to find a fixed set of mods that everyone can run which doesn't gimp up the revive function. If you have added anything directly to your 'addons' folder ArmA has still been 'modded' and may cause problems. Please avoid this by using the 'mod folder' technique which allows mods to be loaded via command line switches. This way you can have different short cuts that target the same 'clean' ArmA installation. When on a revive map simply use the shortcut without any "-mod=@xyz" switches and you'll be good to go (-no splash and -maxmem=xxxx can stay).

2) When you are 'dead' and waiting to be revived stay on your own spectate cam. Do not try and look through someone else's eyes. This is a known glitch in some versions of the revive script so please stay on your own spectate camera until someone can get to you for a revive. It won't be long as you're very near your team mates position anyway......aren't you? :)

3) If you get your kit from the 'Group' tab on the 'Briefing' screen....please only take the gear ONCE. This is not an ammo crate so please take a minute to decide who will carry what kit and then select it....once....and move on to enjoy the mission.

Remembering these three basic things will allow the mission to start and flow as seamlessly as is currently possible:

1) No mods (yet)

2) Stay on your own spectate cam

3) Select your kit once from the group screen pre-game (if available)

Not all maps have these restrictions but to avoid any frustrating 'false starts' please follow these guidelines. If this changes everyone will get the word as soon as possible.

If you have any questions just ask.....

Thanks and enjoy the new maps!
