  1. Not sure if that is a true story or not, but a sidewinder is an air-to-air weapon used for close engagements of generally 15 miles or less and uses heat seeking inorder to seek out its targets, not radar. If the RAF uses the same anti-radiation missles as their US counterparts then it would be a HARM missle. The actual British version is called a ALARM missle, which is what is used on the Tornado's.

Sorry to rain on the funny parade

  2. Thanks Halli, that is a great deal.

As for hunting, I am sure I will like it, and will probably have a little bit of regret for killing the deer. But not only will it be for the venison, but it is a great survival skill to learn. I have already bought a book on field dressing and butchering wild game which will help a great deal.

Plus as a survival skill, there is nothing better than knowing how to hunt and prepare not only deer but other wild game. You never know what our future looks like, and its better to know how to survive off of nature than be just the other typical city asshole that would panic because they have no idea on what to do to survive when starbucks closes down.

No I am not a religious person, and I don't believe the end of times is coming, I would just like to be prepared. (not intended to start a religious rant)

  3. I am looking at the following rifle for deer hunting, which I am new too. From what I have read on websites and forums is that it is one of the most widely used rifles on the market and one of the best reputations.

My one question is I am stuck on either a 30-06 or a .308 winchester (7.62mm NATO) model.

The one reason I am thinking of the .308 winchester version is I might get an AR-15 that is a .308 win version, and I would like to have both just for ammo compatibility reasons, that way I don't have to buy 2 different sizes.

It is a Remington Model 700 SPS (Special Purpose Synthetic) 24", R3 Recoil Pad, 4rd's
