  1. Although I am really looking forward to the ACE on TACDOM, it's really about the group.

All the software in on my machine, but I have not yet attempted to jump on the server.

I think waiting 7 days would be in the best interests.

  2. I used TSO (Team Speak Overlay) in conjuction with my TS2. It projects information on yr screen including who is talking, channels, time and FPS.

Apparently there is a version for TS3. I found this at another website:

"works in the same way as TSO did with TS2.

apparently still in beta but i can confirm that it works in arma with TS3.

    http://tsnotifier.cfxxl.de/

the install menu is in german but its fairly straight forward and not hard to do.

for it to operate you gotta download the ts helper plugin (provided on the download page), install the helper plug in by dropping it into the TS3 plugins folder, then install the ts notifier program, run TS3 and go to setting, choose plugins and activate ts helper, run ts notifier program and run arma... confusion as to who is speaking is now over

    This is not 64-bit supported.

  3. I had to attend a funeral Friday in near Clinton, New Jersey. We had planned to return Saturday (drive straight through), but postponed due to the weather.

As a Floridian that grew up in Chicago, it was nice to get out in the snow. My brother (pro photog) and I got a chance to blow some film near some historic landmarks. Good fun.

However, once underway home southbound on I-95 on Sunday AM/PM, there were some roads between Baltimore and DC that were not yet fully cleared. It took us about 3 hours to go 60 miles.

  4. Good day-

The Public Server offers a lot.

Clearly, it is a step up from the entry level co-op because of the excellent map, TS2 requirments and more.

There are usually a good number of operators willing to work together. Each brings proper skills and attitude to the AO and are ready to work & have fun.

Sometimes, it gets out of hand. It does make gameplay more difficult if you are expecting that higher level of communication and teamwork.

    Expectations.

I don't expect to have the base get nuked. But it does.

I don't expect TS2 to have too many expletives...(sometimes little ears in the room). But it happens.

So, maybe I move to the Side Mission. Or maybe decide now isn't a good time to play at all.

    Either way...its time to adjust.

  5. Fire control (who fires and especially WHEN) has always been a dificult part. If I had a nickel for every time I said ROE was RED and somebody made a mistake...

The busy comms was partly me, and when I realized I was only hearing portions of conversation, I backed off.

MH-6's Bravo Team with Tholozor on point was very effective. The group remained adhesive and efficient.

Losing the Cobra early on during the toughest part of the mission was a tough break.

Cheers to T-1 for creating a workable battle strategy.

  6. To further my position on the Tournaments...

Our group had a lot of discussion about these before entering. As there was no monetary reward-just bragging rights, why not stay at home at play with ourselves (!)?

What it brought was an appreciation of teamwork. Teamwork included logistics and planning, proper communications, and individual sklills (snipers, MG, AT players). It ended up making our regular gameplay even more fun. Unexpected.

We didn't become a Tournament-focused group, per se.

We were always about co-op...the ability to achieve the objective, and leaving nobody behind.

  7. Just finished reading 5 pages of thread regarding this Project.

It makes my head spin thinking of what you have put into it, what has been created, and of course the potential.

My admiration and thanks seem small, but I send them anyway. Fecking impressive. Wow.

  8. Gentlemen;

It is quite possibly your names I see the most...well next to Luggage and a couple of others.

I was overtaken by your ability to take a "run 'n gun" scenario like Domination and turn it into something with co-operative effort! And turning the Side Missions into an optional fully tactical event at a moments notice. Damn!

    Effing brilliant.

    Tactical Fridays...another thoughtful venture.

Its that kind of thinking I admire.

And all the English types! Did you give them a discount, or just rent them out?

    JUST KIDDING...

  9. Good day to you all-

Yes, I have been lurking your TS2 and Public ArmA2 server for a while. So as 2009 draws to a close, I am now compelled to take keyboard in hand to give you a look inside.

I began gaming 10+ years ago with GHOST RECON. It was a fascinating game until I discovered how to do multi-player. Then I was hooked. I saw the possibilities of accompliashing objectives and tasks with like-minded individuals.

The first group I joined was a co-op group, but the leader seemed more interested in making money.

A few of us continued on and another group was formed. This was dashed when a language barrier became an impediment to good gaming.

Again we start...a few core members playing GHOST RECON and using the lessons learned from the two previous crashes.

As a member of Staff at first, and then the Officer in Charge I had the opportunity to help make our group stand out amongst a number of other similar, well-managed groups. We saw growth, openess and opportunity playing outside our own server with other groups...ALPHA SQUAD, MEDIC STATION, HOUSE OF RECON, 9 MM, SPECIAL DETACHMENT and more. The tournaments tested our teamplay and imaginations. We did pretty well with a number of top ten finishes. I made friends from around the world, and even had 2 social events featuring meals and fun in the Netherlands in 2007 and at my home hosting fellow gamers from other countries in 2008. Good times!

After a 3-year tenure I stepped down, and new leadership has assumed command. A change in the politics has given me the opportunity to look elsewhere for my gaming enjoyment.

I thank you now for your patience and hospitality.

I am 50 years of age, and due to comapny mismanagement am presently unemployed. I am married to my second wife of 20 years here in St. Petersburg, FL., USA. I have one son of 26 years.

There are two BMW motorcycles in my garage, a '99 RT1100 RT-P (police special) and an '00 K1200 LT. I also enjoy cycling, reading and especially the world of beer.

    See you in game...
