    OFFICIAL PROJECT REALITY EVENT

Project Reality are proud to bring our Community some official Vanilla ArmA2 training prior to the release of PR: ArmA2 v0.1.

    Sponsored by:

We will be holding open training nights over the coming weeks on vanilla Arma2 for all players new to this engine.

Training will start @ 20:00 BST (UK) / 1900 PRT every Monday evening, for the next few weeks as we build up towards a release.

This is a great opportunity for anyone who is looking to play the PR: ArmA2 Mod, from the PR: BF2 Community, and a place to get the "Basics" right prior to learning the PR style we all know.

Training will be broken down into two distinct sessions:

ArmA2 Boot Camp - This involves small group or one on one training where required / requested. The focus being on setting up Arma2 to run smooth plus a crash course on the keys, selecting weapons and shooting them.

It will also include using vehicles and basic navigation using a map & compass.

TvT Mini Missions - Small custom designed training missions usually involving attacking and/or defending objectives.

Also some cache finding and destroying missions too.

These missions will all be "Team vs Team" but will be refereed and coached. They are Basic Missions but enough to learn the ArmA2 game play.

Both sections are run at the same time by experienced Arma2 players and PR testers.

    Server:

[RIP] UK Public (Teamplay enforced) server

    (filter for "RIP").

    TeamSpeak3 Details:

    ts3.rustyinplaces.org

Although TS3 is not Mandatory - VOIP in-game will be, please be aware.

    Requirements:

    Arma2 Combined Ops (A2+Arrowhead).

    No other mods required.

Please note that the servers will be well administrated, Team-play is enforced and we will encourage you. Leadership training is welcomed.

If you are experienced in ArmA2 and wish to assist in the training, please feel free to contact:

BabylonCome Who is kindly running this for the Project Reality Team.

  2. Right on, the memory came in today. I started up the new rig, set BIOS properly, and went to fresh install W7 on a new HD.

I'm stuck on a 30-day lapse in the activation code! The code comes up as invalid. What's the workaround? There must be a trick to keep me with a stable, trustworthy W7 install without buying another license.

I'm worried that my previous install on the old HD is buggered from lots of use, so making an image doesn't seem right.

    Tips?

I was all ready to buy Brink, and now this...

  3. Ebden, you should be fine with the Q9650. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong but i5 is just Intel's latest branding for quad-cores, which yours & mine (Q9550) are.

Based on the minimum specs listed I'm only planning on a gfx upgrade, which I already have scheduled for BF3.

Wrong fit for me to answer in the previous thread.

The Q9650 is two E8400s stuck together, literally. So it's a quad core built from one of the best dual-cores available.

However, is it really like an i5?

Hey, I'm getting much happier about my upgrade as I check specs.

the i5 represents a nextgen dualcore or quadcore depending on the series name, with L3 caches from 3-8meg.

The Q9650 runs a 12m L2cashe. At a dubber's guess the current gen may be loosely comparable btwx the 8L3 and 12L2.

There's something different about the northbridge, or is it the FSB, that makes them less comparable?

Anyway, going by the numbers and not the definitions (ignoring trivial details such as cache series names, release dates, etc,) then the Q9650 is top-notch at 3.0mhz, 12mbcashe 1333fsb and 95W!

As long as my current cooler can deal with the extra wattage.

  4. Crapo. Still waiting for the memory RMA, and I thought I'd be settled for a while with the Q9650 upgrade. Oh well, once I finish the MBA in three years I'll be able to get the new I-15 (intel should be into the later teens by then) so I can play ARMA4.

  5. Before google bought SKETCHUP, I use to work with it designing, I can tell you it's great.

Google Sketchup has a FREE version which is great.

I found sketchup a few months ago. I've been using it at work to help me visualize some modifications to our research vessel-great tool.

  6. I'll still likely buy it. My primary interest is the MP. Once I get my machine back in order then I'll rejoin the ranks. For the last few month's it's been waiting for various RMAs to come back (and that LOTRO sucking sound). All I need is my memory back grom Gskill, and it's enroute.

  7. Dammit all to hell, I had high hopes. But Bethesda has released a couple titles now that are flops. Their Fallout and Oblivion are the shining stars. They do have another oblivion in the works, but now I'm beginning to wonder.
