Ranking up advice for Adder

Welcome back Adder, good to see you back from the land of sand.

Although you havent asked for it here is some ranking advice, Obviously ranking up is about earning points. Apart from kills and acheiving objectives you will get a lot of points from awards. On your awards page you will see ribbons and medals (although you get 2,000 points for every 100 kills with a weapon as well). Typically each ribbon is worth 200 points and each medal is worth 10,000. You also get 10,000 points when you reach target scores in each of the disciplines.

As we discovered yesterday the softcore meatgrinder madness is a good way to rank up Assault (medpacks and revives), Support (ammopacks, look for clusters of M320 users) and Recon (TUGs, a well positioned sensor can earn you a medal every 2 sessions). Use the Super meatgrindder server as it forbids the use of MAVs, although amusing to watch on youtube, it spoils the flow when your grinding meat. However on outside maps with vehicles the only classes able to deal with armour are Engineer (RPG/SMAW, mines) and Support (C4, Mortar).

Until you rank up the default weapons change depending on the side you play, Forinstance in Assault you will spawn in with an M16A3 if you are US and AK74m if you are russian, If you use an award weapon, it is available to you regardless of the contingent you play for. At the moment you can use the following award weapons:

Assault - M416, FAMAS, KH2002 (I think the FAMAS is the best of this bunch based on the number of times I get killed with one)

Engineer - you dont have an award weapon yet, but a bit more Co op will get you the SG553

Support - Type 88 LMG

Recon - EMR, SKS

Specialize

You may notice that some players specialize in one of the 4 disciplines

Assault 220.000

Engineer 145,000

Support 170,000

Recon 195,000

The advantages are familiarity and awards, by using one weapon and one discipline you get awards faster, In point terms you will get the first 10,000 service star fastest as an engineer (145,000), but on the meat grinder you will probably get the service star faster in the assault or support roles.

Obviously working with a good squad on non meatgrinder servers will allow you to progress. A squad with a mix of disciplines can work well together allowing them to deal with all eventualities, I dont know many people in the game but if you get a chance, play in Hajimoto's squad (again outside of meatgrider servers), he is very focused.

For a game I dont especially like, I cannot understand why I play it so much.

Enjoy

Z

Well written and informative Zeno.

I would add that the Global unlocks as far as primary weapons, including the Personal defense guns and the shotguns, are great weapons. The Meat grinder CQB style servers are great places to upgrade the kit on these as well. These weapons are useful because they are available with all 4 classes, so you are never without some form of weapon with an upgraded optic or ammunition type.

Good info Z,

I can also add that if we will have an option to play together and you want to rank up as Assault/Medic.. just follow me, at distance from behind. Considering I am a great bullet magnet and the way I die every 3 seconds, you will be able to revive me almost constantly... ranking up your skills esponentially ! :)

I agree, the USAS12 with Frag rounds has been a good friend in the meat grinder and on Urban maps like Seine river crossing. Eventually you will be able to use claymores with the support kit, these are excellent on small urban maps like seine river crossing, Tehran Highway and Grand Bazaar. I am only a novice with claymores, the Claymore king is, as always, 'knHalli.

I would remap the F key to your mouse, I have twice run out of bullets and rushed a remaining opponent and stabbed them, but again I am a novice with this implement. Beware of dark corners, this is Durka's domain, he will pounce on you with his knife and gut you like a fish, as unexpectedly as the Spainsh Inquisition.

Good stuff people

I noticed something in my stats based on comparing with others.

I have been ranking up each kit equally, each gun reasonably equally etc..

My rank to time played ratio is pretty good compared to alot of others i have noticed, i think because of the above.

2'000 points for each gun you get 100 kills with.

10,000 points for spawn beacon medal (this is best on rush, get in a squad of 4, plant the beacon close to the bombs, guaranteed to be spawned on, think you need a 100, doesn't take long.

Choose a conquest server with say 6-8 people in, its a continous circle of capturing and neutralising flags = neutralise flag - 200 points, capture flag - 250 points.

allways try and be in a squad of 4.

As you get points for teamates spawning on you allways allways whatever server you are in join a squad.

If you can manage to forget your k/d ratio concentrate on achieving the objectives you get many more points for these.

Ok I just read Krambo's post properly and he already covered it doh

mental fun fast rank = meatgrinder, hard work but you will regularly get over 1,000+ points a minute depending on how many medals/stars (10k points) you get that round

boring lazy fast rank = 1 player rush, 4,200 specialisation points + ~2,900 award points for rush, rush winner, mvp, best squad = 1,000 - 1,2000 points per minute. p.s. stat padders risk getting their stats reset by ea :D

use everything you have in your inventory... any point in dying with 6 mines in your pocket... no get them chucked down, clays.... drop em anywhere just get your shit down. pick up a recon kit, drop the becon and then get your kit back. near a friendly... drop em an ammo box. once you have a few hours under your belt the awards and medals will start rolling in and mega points :)

you get more points for killing people if you are close to a flag in conquest (flag defender), i think you get a ribon for 5 flag defends, then you will get a medal eventually, so if you're in the meat grinder, stand closer to the flag and see if you notice the extra awards. still applicable on any server just in meatgrinder you are constantly at B flag when upstairs so easy extra points if you stand in the right place. also get near the flag if someone is capturing for a 200 point flag cap assist.

if you find yourself squad leader, hit Q when your xhair is over an objective, your squad will know what you want them to do and you get extra points when they do it. also works when defending B in the meatgrinder... every kill by your team will get you a 20 point bonus if they are reasonably close to the flag = easy points.

tricky to get kills with your deault gun? pick up someone elses that's pimped out, makes things easier sometimes, + the kills count towards your unlocks when you eventually get that weapon - never rank up a gun from bare bones again!

see some enemy mines in the road? chuck a nade on 'em... + points, + ribbon for every 2 you explode!

hope youre having fun anyway adder :banana_dance:

Your points per minute are good, but most likely because you are a really good shooter, respect. But by ranking a lot of weapons up to get the 2,000 points you are taking longer to earn the 10,000 points for medals that you get for Carbine, Assault, Sniper rifle, shotgun, LMG etc. Apart from the handgun you need 7 kills in a weapon class to get a ribbon and 50 ribbons to get a medal. In your case you have earnt 20,000 award points for weapons medals, if you had focused on one class you would have 50,000 by now based on the ribbons you have.

BTW you need one more Carbine ribbon to get 10,000 points.

Its all good, though and in the end you will get the points anyway, its just that early on 10,000 in almost a rank.

PS I dance around a lot with the weapons, but check out viiiper or Hajimoto. Having said all that its just a game and I like playing with different guns
