When I started my game this morning Origin downloaded a 385mb file and updated the game (which I now cannot play, I cannot log into battlelog), is this the patch.

Selected improvements in the Nov 22 Battlefield 3 client-side update

? General performance and loading time improvements

? "Black Screen" fix for an issue occurring on some PC configurations

? Stereo and rendering support for Nvidia and AMD graphics cards

? Fixed several crashes that occurred when joining multiplayer and co-op sessions

? Fixed a problem with high speed mouse movement (aka "negative mouse acceleration")

? You should no longer be able to damage a friendly vehicle when sitting in an open position

? Grenades now drop to ground if you get killed while attempting to throw it (dangerous in Hardcore mode!)

? You should no longer spawn too close to enemies in TDM, SQDM, or Conquest

? A large number of damage and range tweaks on a number of weapons to fine-tune overall balance in the game

? Added round duration and ticket summary at End of Round screen

? Fixed a problem regarding key bindings while playing

? Significant changes to the Join Squad interface, detailed at the bottom of this post

? Anti-stat padding measures taken, disallowing ranked servers to run obscure settings

? Support for unranked servers. Unranked servers do not report players' scores to Battlelog, but server administrators can freely control all settings

 

Newly added Battlelog functionality ? Share your stats

 

? Ability to share your Profile and Stats pages to Facebook, Google+, and Twitter

? User Profile and Stats pages on Battlelog can now be accessed without being signed in to Battlelog if you know a user's URL

? Single sign on from Battlelog to Origin. If you're not logged in to Origin and join a game server, Battlelog will automatically sign you in to Origin in the background and join the game server

 

Quick notes on Squad changes in the Nov 22 update

 

? Removed FIND ME A SQUAD option

? Allow players to join empty Squads alone, thus having 1/4 squad members

? Change order of options to LEAVE SQUAD, INV A FRIEND, SWITCH TEAM

? Disable Privacy flag when 1 man squad

? Reset Privacy flag from Private to Public when squad drops to 1 player

? All occupied Squads will now show up colored blue on the Squad Selection screen

? Players who choose not to join squads will also show up as Blue in the "Not in a Squad? line

? Squads that are currently empty will display as white -- if you wish to join an empty Squad, you can choose the first one marked with white text

Lol, you beat me to it.

 

On a side note, are you guys able to get into Battlelog now?

I tried on my work PC at lunchtime to check out the full patch contents but it doesn't accept my login credentials? I know it isn't down as I've been able to check it out on my phone, which was already logged in.

User name & PW are defo correct but it continually refuses to accept them. Hope I don't have the same problem when I get home!

What in the world does that mean?

 

I'm guessing it means you can no longer damage the vehicle with your weapons if you are sitting in a cargo seat, such as in the huey (where you can freely shoot out, including at the chopper). Or maybe it means you can't damage the vehicle if you shoot at it with a mounted MG in something like the buggy.

I have witnessed times when someone is sitting in a boat as a passenger and they are shooting their gun and hit the driver seat of their own boat and sink themselves. I assume its to negate self-inflicted damage of your own vehicle.

 

 

lol why would they take something like that out? If you can't aim correctly you shouldn't be the gunner! Besides, watching someone Indiana Jones themselves would be hilarious.

Well, post patch and I have no idea whether it's helped me or not. Those on last night will have witnessed it taking over 30 minutes to get into a game, following continued Windows BF3 error messages. When I finally managed to connect we played out quite a long round which started fine but ended with me lagging & rubber-banding to the extent that I called it a night. So no idea if my map change black screen issue is still there.

Might try again tonight, might give it a rest. Patched or not my game stability has worsened since Friday, with no changes at my end. Not impressed!

NERF.

 

The G36 is now the WOC.

 

Although it doesn't mention any change to the M249, I don't think it has the stopping power it used to. Not really sure.

 

Forgot to mention that it is shit that they nerfed the G3 and SCAR-H but bumped up the range on the P90 which is grossly overpowered as it is already. Lame.

Sigh... EA did it again... Send out patch to fix problems.... Makes more problems... Ultimate troll!

 

I disagree with the G3 Nerf; Even though I only used it twice, its firing rate was slow which made up for the stopping power.

I am still waiting on my horn for the jeep. I literally have to run someone over to get their attention.

 

IR scopes seem to be the same still.

 

I kept getting EA errors when I would try to join servers. That was definitly not there before the patch.

only got the G3 a few days ago but could tell that it had been nerfed last night :/ wont be using it on a regular basis, moving to the G36 i guess. i much prefer using the 7.56 guns on semi auto rather than other guns on fully auto even if you can get out ranged/gunned by all these silenced support guys who never run out of ammo either ;) noticed that the recoil stops after 2 seconds of firing a support gun also?

 

just hope they are still trying to figure out nerf the IRNV scopes and just ease off on the tac light brightness a bit, i'm pretty happy otherwise. i think the next update will just nerf the other guns that are getting the most kills, but no point in having an unlock system if everything is identical.

After about 3 seconds of firing any support LMG, you are bouncing all over the place. The trick is to fire 2-3 rounds at a time and hope you hit the enemy.

See this is why I dislike the Perk/Unlock ethos that COD/BF have.

 

What's the point in unlocking better weapons if people then moan about them and they then 'Nerf' everything until the only difference is cosmetic.

 

Just let people have everything from the start (ala ArmA etc) and then people can choose their favourite weapons and specialise if they want. A game should stand on it's merits not try and keep peoples attention by forcing Ranks/Perks/Unlocks.

I AM SO TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU!

 

However this is the standing point of a mature player, is not the standing point of an Industry based on profits and curve of interest.

 

For a large part of user/players out there, one of the most compelling motivation on BF/CoD MP is to show they "have it bigger than yours", which is demonstrated thru the "unlocks".

 

Their curve of interest is massive during the few hundreds hours of gameplay because they have unlocks and the "player Ego" is gratified because they got the unlock earlier than you.

 

This is massive population. If you pull this factor out of the BF/CoD marketing strategies, sales would be way different.

 

On the other end, it make no sense nerfing gadgets either, although I do understand, no one is perfect and is possible designers made balancing mistakes with some gadgets.

Due to the fact they get unlocked later on in game, you cannot really "beta testing" 3 or more million users behave about a gadget unlocked later in game. Therefore adjustment may be necessary.

 

However, this is the common policy on ALL games with a massive pool of players. Producers say "we listen to our users" and modify shit.. I mean, who really cares... The massive Income for the opening sales has been already achieved.

Starting now is just residual income, can be fluctuating... just do something to keep the community rolling....

 

DaiSan.. at this status of fact, doesnt make any difference if you (and me and whoever else wanna join) are part of the respectable "minority"... they already got our money ;)
