My Hand Injury (Kinda gnarly wound - view vids at own risk)

Maybe you guys have noticed that my aim in ArmA has been off a bit since my triumphant return. Well... I kind of jacked up my mouse hand a bit last week.

I was hooking up the hose to the tank on my propane grill and I grazed the top of my hand on a heat shield that is pretty well out of eye sight above where the tank sits. I immediately applied pressure, went inside and told my wife to get the keys and that we were going to the emergency room. Yes, the same ER where I work.

Anyways, this is me laying in the ER bed, bit drugged, waiting on the doc. More explanation in the youtube comments.

This is here at home, tonight. It looks a lot better but it still hurts a bit. I have it splinted because without it, my finger would just close in to a fist and it would be very painful to open it back up. I normally have it covered with the gauze on the back on my hand, but I pulled it back to video it.

I am having surgery tomorrow morning to get it fixed by a Plastic Surgeon/Hand Specialist and then I will be off work for 6-8 weeks. So plenty of time to rack up some kills on the servers.

Wish me luck.

ouch, but does not look that bad

When i was teen we had guy who slice open his knee on school trip. He was trying to cross creek walking on steel pipe. He jump/sleep from pipe and his knee was cut by u shaped pipe support. I could see bone and 10 inches of skin hanging. Surprisingly there was almost no blood.

You will be fine.

Surgery is done and now the healing process. This splint will be the death of me though. The pain is there but manageable. I will not be playing any games for a bit due to full right hand splinting. I will drop in on TS though.

later.

Well, more to the drama. At about 2230 last night i felt a strong pop in my hand right where I had the repair done. So I called the Dr. and he said to come in first thing in the morning. So I get there and tell him exactly what happened and he says that he wants to open it back up and take a look. Turns out on of the main internal sutures completely broke. Not at the knot where any fisherman would think, but on a straight part. My guess it was a manufacturer defect in the nylon. So he re-repaired it but much stronger this time.

Basically I am square one again. I am glad it happened pretty soon after the surgery as to not lose more than 4-5 days of healing time. What an ordeal.

My brother sent me these pics of a fella that way to much hot loaded this rifle and it blew up in his hands, splitt the barrel,Or the muzzle was blocked. WOW!

Be glade right?

Reminds me of this fella I knew that got into reloading about the same time I did, and he wanted to hot load some rounds for his smith and wession 44mag model 29. There are 2 load areas for the 44mag round, 1 for pistols and 1 for rifles. well he hot loaded 1 for the rifle, we tryed to tell him not to fire it, but he did, and it blew the entire front off of the smith and exploded the cyclinder. He didnot get hurt, he was the luckyest dummy on the planet. Then cryed the blues becouse he blew up his $400 handgun. When the reloading book says max load, DON'T go past it! They mean it.
