Ebden~SPARTA~
Question to any experts out there...what happened years ago...did oil just, never burst out underground from the pockets? Is oil coming from the ground only human caused? You've heard of tar pits, Oil Sands, yes? Depending on mighty geological events, oil can be mixed among the sub-surface in different ways, sometimes in layers of bedrock and sometimes just like a deep bubble of crude oil. In this case however, the oil was tucked neatly away in a deep well-protected pocket of sorts beneath the seabed. We drilled a hole into the seabed, like sticking a straw into a waterballon. The purge now is very much a human-encouraged event. Oil could concievably make it to the surface by natural means, but that seems far more remote than humans giving oil the easier route. Zathrus~SPARTA~
Well it is bad,and it is going to get worse, remember all this work has been done on just one leak. There are several. The video of the biggest leak was analyzed by Purdue University's Engineering section, they said the 70,000 barrel a day estimate is low, very low. that the actuall volume of oil from the biggest leak is significantly higher although they refused to put an actual number on it.
