SUPCOM2 is a strategy game in real time (RTS) for 1-8 player with planning & slow play... (for old farts like me).

I agree if it's not your thing you will find it 'BORING' just like FPS & ARMA.... say no more.

SUPCOM2 is based on a new engine, it's a RTS on LAND/SEA/AIR, you can play 1-8 players in alliance mode (coop) player+player v player + player or player v Ai, any combo. you control upto 500 units on cap & 2000 with cap off.

It's a laid back war game and I love it.... there is loads of fun without the fastest finger first strategy.

If it's not your cuppa tea, avoid it.... If you loved Total Annihilation series or SUPCOM1 you'll like it too.

Think of games like ARMA where instead of being a soldier you are the commander, you make all the calls not just one grunt.

Cobol where are you? hiding from my supreme strategy... :P

FUN is FUN and that's what games were made for....

100% agree, I hate rush RTS gameplay, but I've not played rush Supcom yet.... normally against AI it's around 30-40 mins before things get hot and with humans you set rules (we normally play 60mins min) build time before action.

Every game is different but this is a great alternative to FPS... plenty of offline strategy learning.. :)

TA and SupCom were great, Sup com and Zero hour are still on my hard drive.

The game Viii Cobol and I briefly played against cobols kids was shaping up nicely but it strained one of the kids PCs and that crashed everyone. We each had a role, one to make energy and shields, one to build the army and one to sort out resources (or something like that).

Good thing is Gas Powered Games say (and I checked, it has happened) that the GPNet connection system has been removed for a more Peer to peer system.

SUPCOM 2 comes to Europe tomorrow (Friday 5th march) I will go to the store for a copy...... even that I've been trying out the early version... Which I can say looks great.

The game now supports dual screen with a global map on screen 2 (if you like), the flow and load on the PC is much reduced meaning the game flows very well even on max units.
