Fatal_Papercut~SPARTA~
For those of you that can keep themselves from slitting their wrists at the mention of Steam: If you're a fan of the STALKER franchise AND you have purchased either Shadow of Chernobyl or Clear Sky through Steam, you can now purchase the latest release, Call of Pripyat, for only $19.99. Unfortunately, after the holiday sale that saw Shadow available for $2.00, the price is now back up to $19.99. Clear Sky, however, is sitting pretty at only $9.99. So those of you new to the franchise can get the entire trilogy for $50, the cost of a single new release. To get the deal on CoP, one of the other two games must be tied to (although not installed on) your Steam account, so purchase either or both of those first, then purchase CoP. On a more personal note, it's hard to recommend these games to everyone, because they are not typical shooters. The good news is that the game is more likely to appeal to the Arma crowd than to fans of run-and-gun shooters. They are very atmospheric, slower-paced (occasionally too slow), and more tactical than a typical shooter. They also have a few bugs and faults, but they are great nonetheless. I'd suggest reading over a few reviews to see if these games might suit your tastes. Edited February 12, 2010 by Fatal_Papercut~SPARTA~
