Mining help 3.23

I can't figure the new scanning procedure for scanning for Gems. 

 

I see the new tab (TAB) for scans but have yet to get markers for any Gems?

 

I must be doing something wrong! 

So, Help please!

 

 

FYI scanning in a Connie to use the Roc-DS so far on Lyria under OM1 area

Others have had success at Aberdeen I just tried in a Hercules at less than 1000M and couldn't find anything, I'll try with another ship

I'm sure I am doing something incorrectly.

You get nothing at all when you ping?

I see no markers while pinging, I see the pulse that the ping sends out with zero hits on gems or even the large mole minable rocks.

I finally found gems but only Aphorite so far, 😐 they have yet to fix the bulk sell of Aphorite so it's 3 ea. at time.

Good lord playing with Luggage sounds less painfull,

 

I'd wait until that has been fixed mate, we can't do salvage this weekend Cent is useless he has real life stuff to do until Sunday!

Ok so scanning is a bit different now.

 

Tab key is the ping unless you keybind a new one (middle mouse/or 4th left hand side mouse button).

 

I set my strength of laser using plus + and minus- on the key pad. (stock is middle mouse)

 

For example, Dolvive takes about level 22-23% lazer before it starts climbing the gauge.

When the gauge gets to the red line in my pic. I level it off there and don't go higher. (see red mark on pic)

I am now learning how to mine the Prospector. 

It's a great little ship and I have learned to leave alone lower valued minerals such as Aluminum and other low paying ores.

 

One issue I have is the Prospector Bags are way to small. Would love to meet one you guys who have a Mole in space so i can swap out my bags from the Mole then you just reclaim your Mole.

 

I bought Mole bags but there is no way to transport them. Well at least it would not transfer to my Connie.

Ok, good to have friends!

Luggs hooked me up with the bigger ore bags, so I go from 32scu to 48scu.

 

Made 3 runs yesterday with 25-30% trash ores and inert materials and made 366K 

That took about 3-4 hours of playtime. 

Once I figure out what setup to use that works best for me I will get more efficient. By set up I mean Mining head and which modules work best.

Are you refining the Ore, or just selling straight to the refineries?

I am refining it. Which is giving me more than twice the Direct sell option.

 

Lately just the quick 30-40 minute way but I have used the DINYX that takes 24-30 hours.

Ok ran 3 trips today. 

 

If I was to sell at the kiosk, I would have made 313,274

 

Using the fastest refine I made 505,956 at Area 18

forgot to deduct refining cost of 25,000 +/- averages 481K

 

So really if the servers were running well, you could just sell at the refine station

for a wee bit less profit but save time.

 

I'll test the Dinyx process next time.

out of curiosity, what are you mining?

I have been focusing on Bexalite, Taranite, Gold and Quantanium last.

Bexalite is my main target. Mostly mining at Wala & Lyria so I have a short run to ARC2 Livley Station.

makes sense. what setup are you using? is the Klien S1 still the way to go or do you use a different head?

and have you tried mining out in the belt? that was always a good option when me and Custard used to mine. I'll try and join you if you are about this week end.

I have not tried the belts yet. Felt they were more for the Mole.

Yeah, join up more the Merrier.

Helix for Power and XTR-XL for window size and one more but I will have to check. (sitting at laptop currently)
