NoScream~SPARTA~ Posted March 31, 2008 Share Posted March 31, 2008 PvP Tournament (KOTH) Sparta Forum Members - EVE First Friendly PvP (Player v Player) Tournament for all Sparta Forum Registered Eve players. What is it? A friendly way to learn to kit your ship. What does the winner get? The privilege to post or share their setup and get others to learn from them. When is it held? The last Saturday of every month What Ships are allowed? All ships that can carry a gun but no faction ships ! (what is a faction ship? , A ship you normally only see of contract to buy). Ship has to carry at least one gun so no Freighters. What modules? Any allowed that are empire legal (faction & normal T1 T2 etc). The reason is, we have no way to validate fittings so, all are allowed. Ship structure? Because of the nature of the competition, please do not bring a ship with very poor/little structure, as the structure may give way before the KOTH/Contender guns stop !! (guns/missiles have a delay). Also When disengaging, if you are using drones, remember to disengage them and return to bay if you WIN. How is it played? This is KOTH (King of the Hill) the rules are simple yet the competition is challenging. Born from the idea that most (not all) PvP is done close up (20Km and less) the idea is this. From the first tournament, a volunteer is selected that will be the first KOTH, from that point the game will be as follows. Once a month on the last Saturday, a Container will be placed somewhere and a pin of it's location will be sent to all entrants. Entrants will make their way to the Pin with all the ship modules they may need for the competition. The reason the PIN location is kept till the day is to prevent players hording ships & fittings at a local station. The locality chosen each time will be remote as for available fittings/ ships ;) Once there the KOTH player will sit at the 'CAN' with his/her ship kit out and jetterson a can with several markers/ cheap items . Contenders will approach the KOTH one at a time and pick up a challenge item from the KOTH jet can. This gives the KOTH the kill rights to shoot first, the contender then moves out to any distance upto a range of 10Km but no more than a max of 20Km. The challenger confirms on Teamspeak they are ready and the KOTH fires the first shot, this allows the contender to shoot back (RED on RED). THE GAME Running time 2Hrs. A WIN The game is simple, the round of KOTH v Contender is 5 mins, timed by spectating contenders. The idea is to take the opponent into the first segment of structure (first blood) to be deemed a WIN. The next player (contender steps up) The KOTH can not leave to refit. A DRAW If after 5 mins. neither has accomplished FIRST BLOOD then the round is drawn and the next contender steps up and the previous contender leaves the arena to spectate or modify/ refit their ship. The KOTH can not leave the arena nor refit their ship while the contest is running. Contenders that are not in the arena fighting, can modify or refit as they please. 3 DRAWS IF after three draws in a row, the KOTH has not put a player into structure, then the third player that survives becomes KOTH and the retiring KOTH can move to spectate or refit. The New KOTH after surviving must take the KOTH spot without refit and the competition carries on. The KOTH at the end of 2 Hours will be deemed KOTH for that month. This competition is for Fun and honor, no ships are at risk and the only losses will be ammunition. It will be the custom for the KOTH at the end of 2 Hours to post their setup to the forum with screen shots or make available a copy & paste for EFT. I hope you all play and it should be great fun. The reason this is held once a month, is to allow players to skill up for an extra 4 weeks, so that next month's KOTH, will become even better, the winner from the previous month will be the KOTH starter for the following month. Any KOTH that is not available the following month will forfeit their crown and a random volunteer will be chosen to start things off. See ya soon. N.B. Any losses are the responsibility of each player. We play fair so if someone is in structure, anyone that does not stop firing will be excluded from future competitions. We are doing this for fun, not financial gain, you are all welcome. What to bring? A ship with a cargo container filled with your goodies (for different setups) How many rounds/ tries will you have? A guesstimate is 2 - 4 in the 2Hours I was asked if we use only low class ships? but this tournament is trying to get everyone some real friendly PvP styled experience. Hopefully this competition will sharpen up your teamspeak comms too, because good communication is needed while in battle to let the opposition they you or they are about to goto structure ;) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
