Many of the text channels have feeds from the "Official" servers to get information like announcements, server outages, update change logs, stuff like that. It's still new and we're still figuring out the best way to manage things there, so your feedback is welcome. This in no way is intended to replace the forums or TeamSpeak and we will continue to host those services as well.
