Zathrus~SPARTA~
Hello all, This was a catastrophic internal engine failure during takeoff which of course is a pilot's worst nightmare. You can hear the engine missing badly... that is because one cylinder has literally exploded into pieces internally. A lot of people give this pilot grief for making the hard right turn right before the crash, but I know why he made that turn, he was trying to avoid a forest. Yes his stall warning came on several times, but it was intermittent, he was flying it at the edge and knew what he was doing. I thought he did an excellent job. He had plenty of speed to level it off and settle it in gently on the belly. As the saying goes... any landing everyone walks away from is a good landing. The aircraft can be rebuilt.
