What ship do you have?

I have taken the plunge, and for Christmas I have been bought the Aurora LN. Let's hope that my skill(or lack thereof) in planes and 3 axis of movements does not translate into the same skill level of flying at this game. I will work on the premise that there is no ground to hit.

now..........

All I have to do is avoid being rammed by Cent, the next risk down the table of flying in Sparta.

p.s. does the Aurora have a BV?

minimum without alpha and beta access is 30$ https://robertsspaceindustries.com/store/315-aurora-mr

if you want alpha and beta access then the cheapest is $40 https://robertsspaceindustries.com/store/316-aurora-mr

both of those come with decent starting ships that will let you get money on game to buy other ships.

If you want a ship with a little more punch, for 5$ more than that last pack you can get the aurora Ln pack. https://robertsspaceindustries.com/store/318-aurora-ln

dont forget that the average cost of a retail game is £30-45 nowadays, SC is a one time purchase no subscription so most of the starter packs are fairly reasonable.

on the downside this is ALPHA access so its fairly buggy.

I might have to buy a 3rd when the next stretch goal hits:

Drake Herald – Knowledge is power, and one of the most valuable commodities is pure information: the 1s and 0s behind everything from UEC ledgers to Citizenship ratings. Whether it’s colonists struggling to stay in contact with the UEE’s central worlds or criminals trading in illicit data, there will always be a need to securely move data. The Drake Herald, small, armored ship, is designed to fit that need and safely get that information from Point A to Point B. Featuring a powerful central engine (for high speed transit and generating the power needed for effective data encryption/containment), advanced encryption software and an armored computer core, the Herald is unique among personal spacecraft in that it is designed to be easily ‘cleaned’ when in danger of capture. The Herald includes an array of heavy duty internal options for data protection, including redundant power subsystems and EMP shielding, and a high-powered broadcast array for data transmission.

Ok, funds are in and I can stretch up to $75, which gives me a choice from:

Aurora - up to the LN model

300 - up to the 315P

Avenger

I like the looks of the Avenger but I'm not the best 'dogfighter' so don't know if an out & out fighter is right. What would you 'seasoned spacemen' suggest?

Thanks, Watchy

Hey mate. personaly Go for the Avenger. Its the best single seat multi purpose so far. more tonnage than the LN & the Hornet(though not as much firepower as the last), More firepower than the 300 AND it looks frickin awsome :) (this advice is by no means biased because i own an Avenger myself) Its not realy a fighter as its an Ex police enforcer and so carrys alot of tonnage for its size and class.

check out the comparison below

Cent. We need to know what you want to do. If you want to explore, then the 315 would be a better ship. If you want to bounty hunt, then you should look at the Avenger. The nice thing about the 300 series is you can really upgrade, or get it up to a good dog fighter or explorer ship or just a strait up zip around ship. It really comes down to what you want. Personally, I would go for the 300 series ship (350R more spacifically) as I like them a bit more than the Avenger, but I own both so.... =P

Cent can probably fly anything to be honest,

well...

with wing mirrors anyway.....

and perhaps a reversing camera......

and maybe bloke with a red flag walking out the front.....

but apart from that he's dead good and can fly anything.

I'll get me coat.

the only response i can think of is....LOL

been eyeing up the Hornet Ghost, anyone have any thoughts on it? the only thing that bugs me about it is that is has no cargo hold at all, whereas the other Hornets do. kinda gutted i missed that superhornet.

Not sure to be honest, not a great fan of the hornet although it will be the ship to have when the DFM comes out. But like you say it has no cargo capacity but luggs will need an escort for that tug, sorry Constelation he has.
