BTW, big to-do brewing of Nvidia's G-Sync, some guy reckons it's nothing but marketing and uses existing tech.....

now it seems this works on laptops with a driver, but not on desktops. interesting stuff. http://www.extremetech.com/extreme/198603-leaked-nvidia-driver-offers-taste-of-mobile-g-sync http://www.pcper.com/reviews/Graphics-Cards/Mobile-G-Sync-Confirmed-and-Tested-Leaked-Alpha-Driver

nV are getting battered at the moment about this and issues with their newer cards it seems. AMD should get their cards out asap, or maybe wait longer and get it right!

  • 2 months later...

Got my new monitor today - very pleased with it, 1080, Gsync, Nvidia 3d, 144Hz 24" - AOC G2460PG http://us.aoc.com/monitor_displays/g2460pg

Screen is very clear, text is better than on the 27" screen I returned, perhaps because the dot pitch on this one is better.

Did some watchdogs and grid autosport at 144Hz with Gsync on, looked great. To be honest I can't really see the diff between 60/144Hz but Grid looks fantastic, and watchdogs did not slow down or tear anywhere, it was awesome.

Waiting for the Elite update to download so I can try that next.

:0)

Happy.

hmm... dump the ACER. Acer monitors are hit and miss. Some models are good, the rest are garbage.

If you want a decent model monitor that won't destroy your pocket book, I would suggest an ASUS 27 inch. both the VE and VS models are pretty damn good.

In addition, most come with Asus Rapid replacement for 3 years and the number of stuck or dead pixels allowed is half that of Acer.

I have purchased probably 10 Asus monitors in either 24 inch or 27 inch over the last 2 years for people. I have never had one with any stuck or dead pixels.
