  1. those are entirely worth getting overexcited over Dai... CQB in Arma = pure epic win! now my AA-12 has a purpose lol.
  2. hey, steel, if ya really want that vid, just come out and say it yourself, instead of using my name.
  3. if tuesday is a necessity, i'm in. missed today to a job interview.
  4. it'd be even better if you could parachute onto the chopper, and plant a satchel on it. btw, i'm in for whatever ridiculous plan we come up with!
  5. good to see them moving forward. i've been periodically checking in on this mod. can't wait for it to finish up.
  6. sounds like everyone's giving it amazing reviews. i'll have to get it as well. just, ah, gimme some time to get used to it (and flying with a mouse is going to be entertaining to say the least)
  7. medic, give it a shot. find me sometime, we'll talk. best bet, give it a shot. its free, so no reason not to.
  8. is TS down? i can't connect at all...

That would be the new gotard filter Zeno installed.

  9. Aw crap...I gotta learn another map? Great.... Thanks Zeno!
  10. Sorry to hear that Athlon. Keep your head up, and hang on to those good memories. I hope you have more of them than I do from when my dad passed. If you need someone to talk to, holler. I'll make the time for you. Jeff
  11. lol...this made me go track down the star wars mod for freelancer!!! free worlds ftw!! Jeff
  12. absolute minimum is ACE itself and the fallujah map. with that in mind, having the full list of ACE server mods isn't a bad idea, in case we end up practicing on the main ACE server. Jeff
  13. i'm handy to fly. probably should spend some time landing LB's now. if better pilots are found, i'll snatch my 240L and hang around on a bench till i get told to die suicidally getting off the bird! btw, the ACE LB's should do ok. they really don't climb that much before they slow down. Jeff
  14. i appear to be late to the argument, but here's my two cents: its rather refreshing to have a game type where failure is entirely possible. right after frenchie discovered it, we ran a tac-dom on it and got our @$$es handed to us rather handily by the AI, and a lack of teamwork. leadership was something of a problem as well (btw, i was a teamleader, and i am bashing myself as much as everyone else who was leading when i say that.) we didn't have proper coordination, and we didn't have a sound plan. we got schooled. now, with a bit of organization, and definite restrictions on comms (doesn't mean military lingo, b/c you would honestly be amazed how little the military uses it. most conversations actually sound like 2 guys hangin out at home) you can have a thoroughly enjoyable time. besides, there's nothing like dressing up in civvie clothes, walking into a town, and capping a warlord with a silenced pistol. only problem is...the defenders are instantly alerted, and you are most definitely surrounded by them. extraction is definitely touchy! Jeff
  15. this mod is a no-go. when gunthar and i were testing every vehicle mod under the sun, we discovered the MRAP is pretty well invincible (not just to bullets, but to RPG's and the like as well. hell, it took a tank shell without any damage at all.) this mod's damage system is horribly broken, and needs a lot of love before it can be considered feasible to gameplay. Jeff
  16. well, so much for me getting OF:RR. PC Gamer's review is definitely angry... besides, its not OFP. i think the worst part is making the campaign missions linear. i rather enjoy the open possibilities of Arma and the OFP of old. if i want linear crap, i'll play CoD. best photo ever. i'm stealing that for other applicable situations in the future. Jeff
  17. i'll cover another team lead if need be. be there either way of course! Jeff
  18. off-topic @ fatal - dawn of war 2 retribution? if so, holler at me sometime sunday evening or thereafter. i'll join in. Jeff
  19. ahh...CLS, i remember that. makes me want to stick IV's in my buddy again (he was scared s%^$less i'd miss his vein and wiggle the needle around inside him trying to find it.) btw, system actually looks pretty good, aside from the aforementioned RAM upgrade. makes me want to find the money for one lol. take it easy and catch ya soon. Jeff
  20. hey, no offense taken. i knew a few marines who were quite full of it. in fact, all they spoke was it......
  21. iron...we marines aren't COMPLETELY FoS. they took quickclot from us because 1) it was being used improperly (e.g., you're supposed to thoroughly staunch the would before applying quickclot...wasn't happening) and 2) its downright messy in the wound. it doesn't need surgery (that i know of) but it requires a very extensive cleaning after the wound is reopened before it can be properly closed. Jeff
  22. Medic, those lonewolfs have a bad habit of ruining the main groups' intended plan. there was a night, a while back, where a single impatient player decided to parajump into the AO early, because he didn't want to wait for the rest of us to plan out our parajump assault, load up on the osprey, and parajump in. said lonewolf alerted the AO, making our 12-man stealth jump all for naught. also, it was my understanding, six months ago, when i first discovered Sparta, that the passworded servers were for a higher level of play, where being in TS is mandatory, and teamwork is a must. it seems this policy has been reversed of late though. Jeff
  23. peter, in regards to your comment about "too enthusiastic" people on TS: its not an effort to "temper" people. its an honest attempt to make a more hardcore-type teamwork map. with that being said, i also agree with noobiachi's comment about it supporting "run-n-gunners." to be honest, SPARTA's premise was that everyone was here for the teamwork, and more tactical gameplay. with that being said, maybe its time to start cracking down on the run-n-gun guys. if they really are doing that, explain the rules. if they can't get it, bring out the banhammer. i honestly think some of the issues that are being talked about could be solved simply by enforcing the rules. in regards to the MHQ...maybe try and limit respawns/teleports to one every 30 minutes or so. that way it doesn't screw over the guy with a crappy ISP (or a computer like mine,) but doesn't cater to the run-n-gun community either. Jeff
  24. i'll agree to that one, wholeheartedly. donzi, no...no, you may not. 5.56 already kills me fast enough, i don't need 25mm replacing it. Jeff
