  1. I tried the mod I posted above and it did nothing but cause problems. I pulled the game up on my laptop and noticed I got no blurring at all. I went back downstairs to my PC (attached via HDMI to a 46" screen running at 1920x1080) and I saw the blurring. I played with the video settings quite a bit and finally got a perfect combination of performance and vividness I was looking for... and with virtually no blurring effect. The post processing is set at low. So I still get to see the glowing of the sun coming through the trees but yet the blurring is virtually gone. I've very satisfied with the look.
  2. Thanks for the tip. I already lowered the head bob. I'll try the post processing next.
  3. I still say Avast.com but I think you have to pay for the Adware part of it.
  4. I've looked to turn it off and I can't seem to find any settings for it. I was looking under Video and then Advanced. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place. It seems you'd be able to turn it off.
  5. Sorry, I don't have permission to create a new topic so I'm forced to ride someones post: ARMA 2 motion blur Has anyone tried this? http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=5851 I'd like to get rid of the motion blur in ARMA 2.
  6. Teamviewer is the neatest damned thing. I connected two computers using the VPN connection and was able to browse all of the files on the remote computer by mapping to the hidden admin share C$. I then sent a print job to the remote computer, it installed the drivers on the local computer and sure as hell, I sent a print job across the Internet. The VPN connection works great between the two connected computers, but it won't traverse any where past that. I was hoping it would but it doesn't. Devices and folders are about it. I can't traverse the remote network like a true VPN connection. That would have been nice. If you want to connect on the fly to a friends computer who's not really computer literate, I think showmypc.com is a little more intuative. However, it does the same thing as teamviewer.
  7. ASUS all the way! I've been building using ASUS for years. They are rock solid. I just recently bought a G60 http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Asus+-+Laptop+...072&st=asus It's now down to $849. I paid $999 two months ago.
  8. Avast Anti-Virus. Free all the time and works good. avast.com
  9. I'll deal with PC issues before I'll ever settle for the sub standard console versions. I can't stand playing an FPS with a controller. I've tried and tried again. It's just not for me.
  10. I didn't have rights to start a new topic under "Flight Simulators". Well complaints that people have are that even though it's a Steam game, the DRM only allows 3 installs. I don't like that myself either. Supposedly there's a way to deactivate an activated code bla bla bla. Who wants to worry about that bullshit? But I already purchased the game so I'll work with it for now. There's a few joystick profiles that come with the game. Mine's not one of them. As far as multiplayer modes, I don't know yet. I'm still trying to see if I can get my joystick to work. LOL Honestly, if I'd know about the DRM and the lack of support for my joystick, I would not have purchased it.
  11. Hmm, I've considered this title in the past because of it's co op rating. I'm not saying I won't get it, it's just that I'm not sold on the look of the game.
  12. I grabbed a Steam copy of Wings of Prey yesterday during the %50 sale (which has already ended) and it's a nightmare tying to get the Logitech 3D Force Pro set up with it as it doesn't natively support the profile. Is anyone else playing this game? It looks good but I can't really play it yet. I with I knew about IL2 before.
  13. Ah ok, I thought it was built into the game somehow. Thanks for the info.
  14. I got through the VTOL training. I don't like flying that thing for sure. I'm confused about something. I passed the flight training but when getting into a chopper on your server, I get kicked out saying I'm not qualified. Can anyone clear this up for me?
  15. Thanks DeltaSierra LOL I can fly the transport chopper better than the cobra. I'm sure I'll improve over time. Now it's on to VTOL training. I want to get through all 8 basic training aspects of the game.
  16. By God it took me some time but I'm now flight certified! It's still only at Recruit level but I'm still gaining a feel for the dynamics of ARMA flight control.
  17. Hey Yankee, sorry I missed you man. I'm actually bailing for the night. I'll definitely catch up with you soon. I've made it a point to remember your name so I'll know who you are when I jump in. You, Durka, SARMedic, Halli and Lighspeed also. Forgive me if I've left anyone out.
  18. All good pointers. I really appreciate you guys taking the time to respond. I was down and out for a couple of days. (this weather is killing me) I like that you guys are a more mature group. I'm 43 myself. I look forward to gaming with you all. I've got a couple of other friends who are purchasing the game based on my input so far. One of my gaming friends bought the game for himself and another one of my buddies just because he was a little hesitant. BTW, I own BlackShark DCS also. I was surprised to see that game mentioned in your forums. But first things first, I'd like to continue learning ARMA 2. LOL
  19. Durka, I fully understand. I am definitely a newbie at ARMA. I'm currently going through all of the Single Player basic training modules. I've completed the first three more than once and have yet to pass flight training. I've attempted a few times but need more practice. I'm also watching tutorials on YouTube. Actually I was a 95B who reclassed to Signal before I left the service. But you're right, those are signal flags I'm flying. And you're right again... the coordinates appear the same on the map. It's just that I'm trying to figure out how to interact with the map, compass, and watch in the game interface. Yankee, thank for the offer man. I will definitely take you up on that. I may be in this Friday. You guys were very decent in ts. It's nice to run into some normal sounding people instead of a bunch of young punks who don't understand that they don't rule the world. Actually, meeting your group has added more incentive to learn the game better.
  20. I popped in your teamspeak yesterday and I like how you guys were playing and coordinating in ARMA 2. I look forward to learning it better. I'll try to keep an eye on this forum for any scheduled training sessions. I understand basics like how to walk and shoot of course, but I don't understand things like the team interface, where the hell to go once I'm in the game. How do I use the map or the compass. I need to understand where the objectives are. It's a lot to take in when you first bring up the game.
  21. Hey guys, I'd be very interested in joining a training session if you hold another one. I just purchased ARMA 2 and I think it looks like a game I'd truely enjoy. I have hundreds of hours in Battlefield 2 and mastered that game, but after the 1.5 patch ruined that game I've been looking for a decent replacement. I really like teamwork and camradrie. If you guys fall into that category I'd love to join in.
