  1. I'll agree with MH on the math issue. While you'll need to be familiar with high school/collegiate level math, you don't need to be a "math geek" in order to survive as a programmer. Especially given the complexity of modern programming languages. I've failed miserably at any attempt at a math education, but I've done alright so far with programming without it.
  2. I've got the sticker thing stuck to the side of my box.. First though, I have to figure out how to recover data off of the corrupt partition. Fun times ahead...
  3. Support group on TS beginning this Saturday! (Bring enough pills for all!) ;-) Have a blast, Zeno!
  4. Thanks for the warning Haji. But, this mishap is eating much of the $$ I intended to use to upgrade hardware. So, I doubt that I'll be needing a new motherboard any time soon. Plus, I may be going off to school in the next 6 months and will likely leave that box at home, depending on accommodations, and upgrade my laptop.
  5. Thanks, guys! Any development i do these days is done on my Mac. So, my pc doesn't need to be terribly fancy. Looks like I'll use Home Premium 64, then. Thanks again!
  6. Short and simple... which version of Windows 7 is best for gaming? Does it matter?
  7. Here's a bit I'm confusted about... First, though, some history.... (Warning: the remainder of this post is largely for the "technically inclined".) I have two HDD's in that box. Originally, one held Windows, the other, Linux, for development. Also, originally, I had the Linux drive as the master and the Windows drives as slave. I booted through GRUB. I eventually quit using that particular Linux install for development. So, instead of having to boot to Windows through something I'm not using, I simply switched the Windows drive to master and booted directly to it. I did this by switching the SATA cables connecting them to the board. Now, for the confusing part... When I first booted at the party... GRUB loaded. Personally, I'm not sure how that works. You know the rest.
  8. Thanks! Wish I could test it out! =(
  9. So, I took my PC to a LAN party this weekend. Instead of playing COD4 as planned.. I've spent the whole day trying to recover corrupted files. So far, not so good, I'm afraid. So, until I can attempt to recover as much as possible before reformatting the beast, I'm going to be a bit MIA. I can still access TS and forums from my laptop, but its a mac... So, see y'all in game asap! Ty
  10. Use this CBA: Click Here with Sparta's servers.
  11. It's working flawlessly for me. It's quite useful, tool. Although, in a large squad, it can clutter the screen a bit.
  12. I'd say it's better... we DID manage to survive our "suicide" mission last night a bit longer than I personally expected..
  13. Oh, really? Last time I used one the view was washed out as if I was looking through nvg's in daylight. I guess this one goes in the same box as the missing flashlights and lasers in my OA.
  14. M110 TWS (only because the NV is irrelevant most of the time I play.), Mk16 RCO (due to bug with the Mk17), MAAWs. Ditto on Halli's comment, though. Anything lethal will suffice.
  15. Happy and safe travels, my friend! Just remember who means the most to you when you return with "lots of money"!!
  16. The mission on the OA server is stock Domination which doesn't require any add-ons. CBA is the prerequisite to running add-ons. Someone wiser should correct me if I'm wrong! Ty
  17. HEDP (Dual Purpose) are used as anti personnel mostly. You can take out lightly armored assets with them, but for anything heavy you will want the HEAA (Anti Armor).
  18. You all may be aware but 2.17 has been released. Specifically addresses our issue.
  19. The problem with using the current release of Arma II Launcher with OA is that it seems impossible to use it with both OA and original ARMA 2. Whichever program is selected as the game exe on the settings tab will be the game launched for every profile. No current way to designate a different game per profile.
  20. Confirmed. It's working as usual, bud.
  21. I'm having an issue with the ammo box. Every time I access it the screen locks up (can still move cursor, though) and then battle eye crashes after a few seconds. I'm in with Idan right now and he doesn't have this issue. He suggested the "getallgear" command, but that didn't solve the problem for me.
  22. We sort of had a few "pseudo-squads" during the ao I played after you left, Cent, but everyone was still all together in TS. Having everyone on the same channel naturally made it difficult to communicate with my "squad" on the task we were assigned (see previous post). So, I'll have to agree, if the number of players allow, breaking into squads on TS would bring back more of the efficiency afforded by Tacdom.
  23. The crawl to the tower was something special.. =). Props to Karl and Ironspy for impeccable teamwork!
