Boy, you said it! Heart of gold is one of my favorites! I remember the day I bought the album like it was yesterday. I was 19 driving a Trabant through northern East Germany making a B line for the Grenz. I was lucky enough to have the on paper car in the country with a cassette deck. Golden wheat swaying in the cool breeze, and Niel Young on the player, perfect. Thanks for the memories, I need to find that LP... now where did I put that? -B

Well, I don't want to debate climate change, as it comes too close to politics here in the states, but global warming is a horrible title for the patterns scientists see in nature. The mini Ice Age was in the Medieval period and it was due to a massive infusion of fresh water out of the Great lakes (glacial lake Agassiz), the thought was that it caused a fresh water "dam" that shut down the Thermal-Haline circulation (the gulf stream, salty water moving south pulling warm fresh water north thereby cooling our planet), well redirected it really, it's ALL relative. The gulf stream is why the north of Europe is so much warmer than say the latitudinally similar US. Beer and other wheat and barley beverages are so popular in those parts due to that climate regime. Climate, like geology, is a long term process, and carbon is only half the story. But as temps go up, the extreme weather patterns will as well, and warm is a relative term, but globally, the earth has been trending warmer for last 18 to 20 thousand years, the next 2000 will be the tell tail in terms of our local climate impact. If I could divorce politics and fox news from the climate debate I would, suffice to say that it's 3 parts natural, and 1 part human (at least that is what the majority of real research has shown) and in there lies the debate. Sorry to geek out on you guys about this, I've been a geologist and environmental scientist for the past decade, and it sorta just leaks out sometimes. -B

If climate change heads in the direction scientist are predicting, Europe and the UK can expect more of this in the future. But, wow, that is an amazing picture, I'd be interested to know from our UK friends how many times they remember seeing this happen in their lifetime?

Inimigo, do you use Trackir? I have the ultrapack and I can't seem to get true 6 degrees of freedom. I can get roll but no z or zoom or lean. Has anyone got this working on 1946, cd version? Thanks in advance. On a side note do you play war-clouds? -Behemoth

Awesome, sign me up, I miss the carrier ops maps we did a few months back. One suggestion though, can the fuel be extended? With two "drop" tanks on that thing, that short little hop shouldn't have use even a tenth of the fuel it showed it did on the fuel bar. -B

I hate being a complainer, BUT, I'd like to make a request and an observation. The last few times I've been in the game I've seen a few camping the choppers. Last night we lost the apache because members were camping in the chopper at base when three ka 52s came a calling, saw them as targets and blew them up(they were AFK as far as I could tell). I understand peeps want to fly but those choppers respawn every two hours, and people are: A) not giving everyone a chance to coordinate with ground troops while using the attack choppers and aircraft, are running into the AO without any caution getting the chopper/plane toasted for 2 hours before 10 minutes is up on the map, and C) not using the ground comms to get attack clearance. Now, I'm not pointing fingers, if you think I'm taking about YOU, you're probably wrong. I just think that the fun on this map is that those assets are for support, and since they spawn every 2 hours they are very valuable, so use them with safety for the platform in mind. I also know some of us have a pension for flying but learning to share is something I would appeal for. These weapons are way too powerful on the map and can ruin the AO for others, I think choppers should have new restricted ROEs (ie; AO periphery attacks, base defense/side mission assignment, and in the case of the Harrier, lased strikes only). Thanks people, I hope this is seen as a friendly observation and request. It just seems that since we restrict platforms, we should expect those using them to act with maturity in using them. I look forward to the revamped Air dom as well! -B

I might have a little free time to help, I have some experience in planes, in sims like this one though I love the choppas! I don't want to walk you away from the flight models with this question, but, are ways of getting special nav cues like multiple way-points put in the game? I find just the one way point too limiting right now. And how bout flares... Ok sorry, too much glitz and too little flight modeling. I would love to help out just say the word. -B
