That s fine.
I only fly 1st person (uused to other flight sims). I m not looking for reality on the flight model here, just mastering the basics.
@ Durka: i know how to get out of there, in fact when i click "get out" it starts to shut down the engine, problem is it restart by itself. I do believe my powere is full down on my joyy, but can t say for sure.
Theoretically I should still be able to get out leaving the engine spinnning for quick take off, but i simple cann t get out.
@AJsarge: yes, i guess i have to try something with the editor and test iit outside the bootcamp, just to be sure is not an environment limitation.

Hi,
I am practising my pilot skills using the "boot camp" option and flying freely to get accustoomized to the chopper.
Ii have this problem:
I cann t find a way to shut the engine off and get out thhe chopper.
I did set my controls on joystick, throttle on joy throttle axis and all other controls set and working.
When I land duriing the boot camp exercise, I cann select thhe option shut engine off and I hear the engine poweriing down. Then, when almost at 0 rpm, suddenly it starts up again, regaining rpms and getting back to idle.
Is this a limit in boot camp excercise, not allowing me to get out the choopper till my excercise is complete annd i m back in base?
Iin fact, when I am doone wiith the xercise and i land back in base, an animation take me right away out thhe choopper, ii don t evenn have to select the option.
I didn t try flying in any other environment other thhan booot camp, maybe in a normal mission it woorks fine.
Any idea?
NOTE: sorry for mispels, this freeking keyboard is just a nightmare, and i m tired to go back and forth too correct all thhe double -types I got

Just to recap:
Now you have a way to set a human Commander to the Insurgent forces and drive the enemies, right ?
Do we need to download and add-on to enjoy this mod or is simply server side ?
When is gonna be the desiignated day too enjoy this mod ?

Hi,
when you have this kind of issue wiith movies, most of thhe times is CODEC related.
I installed on my win 7 this one:

and i sugggest you do the same. it may solve your actual problem but for sure it will prevent others

This is very interesting.
I see this problem from 2 standpoints:
1) TAC -DOM server (professional, mature server/game) in my opinion should not be any respawn. Driver should mark on Map the vehicle location at the moment he disembark. It is my understanding others will see that mark on the map and everyone may have an info about unused vehicles and locations.
2) Public Server - it envolves "different quality" of players partecipation. While it would be welcome considering a Driver is responsible for his vehicle, we know that is not gonna happen with generic players. So, either respawning (at a decent amount of realistic time) or an automatic "dot tracking" would be a valuable solution.

.. I have to say that Halli was so right ! this game is just amazing, and playing wiith the Spartans and all the other "mature" friends on your server is just a great experience.
I am enjoying every minute and I am learning a lot
It reminds me a lot of Project Reality. I played that game only 2 or 3 times tho. I can t say i had a great knowledge of it, but Arma give me a feeling that has been expanded over PR, and that one was already expanded quite alot.
I am very happy i got this game at the end of a few troubles and I ll see you soon on the battlefield

I saw it on IMAX 3d and I was impressed.
I knew the story, anyway this movie is not for kids IMO. There a few spots pretty creepy, i would say a kid might have nightmares
Technically speaking is impeccable.
When i saw this movie I also saw the 3D trailer of AVATAR and there I though that will be nothing less than shocking

Just for the records, GoGamer Customer Service desappeared 2 weeks ago without any further notice and they never issued an RMA for the failed copy. So.. I lost my first purchase.. oh well I hope they will use my money in medicines

Oh, I am sorry, I was thinking he was talking about GRAW 2 ... I have no exp on Win 7 about GRAW 1. I have it, but I used XP at that time.
However, also for GRAW 1, indirect experience, my mates on GRAW 2 were using GRAW 1 on Vista so I tend to assume it would run fine.

I am sorryv to hear about this problem and I do understand your frustration.
However I suggest u to search the culprit of your issue outside the game. I am actively playing GRAW 2 with an online group and I never heard about this issue.
70% of my teammates are running Vista and Nvidia cards of any kind, from your model above. No one reported similar isssue
I am running on Win 7 myself, never had an issue.
Definetely u have to be sure u r running as Admin. Also it may make a difference if u are using an Admin accont better than a "lower rights" account, but other than that tis game never gave that issue under Vista.

This already sounds amazing... 7 years ago, when i was commander of a Mechwarrior Unit fighting in Europe, I had a "reporter" for our online battles.
Mechwarrior is a game with a solid universe background and hundreds of Novels have been published following the FASA guidelines. Having battlefield reports was just amazing.
Having that here in Arma, due to the "realism" of action is gonna be EPIC

I enjoy so much reading your debriefing after these Tac-Dom events ! .. I have to say I envy I can t be there "yet" (multyplayer problem almost solved anyway...)
You know, the amazing thing would be if someone with story-teller skills would take a minute to write a report in "on-field reporter" style to make a short recall of the events.. you could make that and call it " The War bullettin" and put it on the main website
It would be the coolest thing, also for ppl approaching this game for the first time
Great job to everyone anyway, for the way you enjoy this game, you are a great group !

Hi Durka,
in meanwhile you are wwaiting for the new PSU to come, if you feel the inspiration, you could test your 700w on your wife PC and see if it starts.
To make this test, you don t even need to connect all the stuff in your wife pc, you should just connect the PSU to the MB and to the videocard (if needed). Do not connect to the HD either.
If the PC boots up, you will see a message on screen like "no OS drive found", which is ok, because you did not connected the HD at all.. However, in this way you can test that the PSU is working because is powering up and booting the other pc.
Theoretically speaking, if your 700 w is fried, it should not be able to power up your wife pc at all, if it does it (nad i hope not) it may mean something else is wrong on your MB.
You could also try your wife PSU to power up your pc, if is trong enough for a bare start up. however you cannot CUT the power from the Nvidia in your system because that would result in a VGA failure and probably no screen or maybe not even POST.
Remebr, to test a pure boot up, u don t even need to have the HD connected. Only MB and video card, if necessary.

yes, that make sense.
if port 4231 is blocked at some firewall level, of course you r not gonna get the feed. firewall problem as I supposed.
You should figure out what port you can use with your IT ppl there before changing it on your cam software.
I think you just have to set a different port on the cam settings. No other changes, because usually commercial routers do not monitoor outbound connectivity, only inbound.
Then if got the right open port, you should be able to see the feed at work.

I installed in the past security cams a couple of times.
I used a different set, with a VCR - HD unit and 15 cams connected. It was the VCR with his own software going on Internet through the router.
I do assume the structure is almost the same. You said your camm has a software allowing you to see the stream.
Just to recap a couple of points:
1) you said you tested the coonnectivity from your home. I do assume you did not have any problem to coonnect. install the active X when prompted and watch the stream, correct?
2) you say you are unable to watch the stream froom your work PC - You mean you work in your ownn company and you are responsible for your network security or you are in a corporation or elsewhere and your nnetwork security is company managed?
I never met a problem like this, but i know some professional routers and Firewall
deny stream video traffic based on incoming file extension, not only about the port traffic.
If you are not the nnetwork admin at your job and you are not the one configured your job security router / firewall, you may ask to who is in charge for that.
Symptoms you show are saying you get into the remote connection to your friend's home, getting through their router and getting to the Cam software, then when the cam start broadcasting, the stream is blocked, resulting in error message "cannot connect to IP cam".
I would suuggest to disable any possible firewall you have at job to troubleshooot this problem.
It is possiible you have multiple layers, your router there has a firewall and your PCs may have other firewalls or so called "internet security suite", especially if you are running antivir like Norton, McAfee, kaspersky and many other offering "full protection".
If you totally shut down your "protection" and test the cam, if working you know who is the culpriit and you need to find what setting has to be set to allow the streaming traffic, probably wiith a call at the correct tech support.
NOTE: it just came to my mind this, altough you said at job u tested also XP.
Sometimes to install Active X correctly on Win 7 you NEED TO START IE AS ADMIN, whichh means right click the icon and choose Start as admin.
I am sure you did it, but double check, sometiimes problems are way simpler than what they look like.

I used it on GRAW 2 maps in the past and it was pretty good.
Considering how multi-faceted can be the ground operations in Arma 2, is this an interesting tool or not?

Hoonestly, it's easy, straight to the point, achieve results in game and enjoyment doing it... welll.. i think Sparta doesn t really need anything else.
Ranking may be a need for other groups but not for Sparta and i totally subscribe your style.

before you switchh to diifferent driver, about the artifacts, try setting the game VIDEO MEMORY to Veryy high.. I had artifacts and that solved the issue permanently for me.
About how to switch to a different videoo driver, Win 7 is not too much friendly, but is not even too complicate.
First of all be sure you downloaded the drivers you want to install
You need to open your hardware settings:
1) right click COMPUTER and choose Properties
2) on the left end side click on DEVICE MANAGER
3) open the Display Adapter and right click on your card, then UNINSTAL
4) CONFIRM ALL FOLLOWING STEPS AND BE SURE TO ACCEPT ANY OPTION INVOLVING A FULL UNINSTALL this may be different from card producer, I use ATI, so just be sure to clean all
5) shut down your PC annd reboot
When restarting either Win 7 will start on bare basic resolution 800*600 or will install the basic drivers it thinks are good for you.
Either way when Win 7 is fully re-booted, proceed installing the drivers you want and reboot the system again
Then test the game. If still unsatisfied, follow the instruction again, remove those drivers and try other ones.
