  1. Couldn't be bothered to start a new post!!

     

    Lots of games being played in the Sparta community at the moment, with the focus around WarThunder, DCS and Starcitizen. 

    Given that these are all multiplayer, and we all want to play them to various degrees with each other, it's probably a good idea to sort a bit of a schedule so that those that want to - can arrange their social lives accordingly.

     

    Apparently people do other things - no idea who they are or what those things could be? but hey ho.

     

    From my own perspective, I'll be doing the following

     

    Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday - Starcitizen 18.30//20.00 WarThunder or DCS 20.00//22.00

    Thursday -  DCS 20.00//22.00

    Friday - Starcitizen 18.30//22.00

    Saturday - WarThunder or DCS 18.30//20.00 Starcitizen 20.00//22.00

    Sunday - Any?

    Yes, sadly a soft reset with the patch so those of you that have already set spawn points, will need to do so again :(

  3. Noticeable changes

     

    • New purchasable/openable cargo boxes - 1scu, 2scu, 4scu and 8scu. These containers can be purchased and sold via the ASOP terminals and dropped directly onto ship cargo grids.
    • Structural Salvage - Vulture and Reclaimer can now salvage the outer hull and structure of derelict ships (FOR PROFIT). Internal cargo storage system added to both ships, alowing the continues salvage of derelicts without having to stop to unload each box. This can now be done at the end in one go. 
    • 15 new settlements added to the Stanton system
    • New Player Hair V2 (shown at Citcon this year - You can look even prettier now Luggs! 
    • Tractor/Towing ship mechanics
    • Mining balance - Now favors Prospectors a little more with the size of Rocks.
    • Hull C and Mirai Fury added to in game stores. 
    • All Amour and ship prices adjusted to better meet intended costs

     

     

    NO WIPE this patch.

    I would love to figure out how to keep it from rattling in the cargo bay during flight. Even if I park in center of the ramp it still winds up against a rail after maneuvering. 

    I will resume learning this week. Just getting a feel again for operating the Coni I did upgrade the Sheild to FR86 and Quantum drive to Crossfield and added the Stormbringer paint. 

     

    I have never been much of a pilot, so I have been running small box missions to get back into it. 

     

    I have been having a problem with my comms button, it will be lit bright white and stay that way not allowing me to hail landing areas causing me to lose missions.

    Try hailing the landing pad via the mobi menu - in the Comms panel (F11)

    Not yet - expect that with cargo elevators (next patch)

  6. Salvage would probs work better with at least 2 x Vultures, plus two loaders and a decent sized cargo ship. most efficient at the minute is the CAT - can load from both sides and can land anywhere to sell.  The Raft is a bit too slow for salvage loops i think. 

  7. Oh and Benoir came on with a proper mic drop moment. 

     

    Showed server meshing, streaming and replication layer working in full. Not just static meshing, which we are getting very soon (actually) but full dynamic meshing.  amazing stuff! 

  8. So day one of this years Citizencon.

     

    • Pyro coming at the end of October (early PTU test) will open to all backers over the course of the year. This will be test environment totally disconnected to the LIVE branch so expect a buggy experience, frequent loss of playing ability and general shithousery. CR thinks it will be akin to the 1st 3.0 release many years ago. but it's important to test out the new systems while they implement the replication layer. Then they can combine the systems as one.
    • A couple of new ship concepts 
      • standard money generating practice
      • Polaris is in grey box
      • BanuMM is paused but over 80% complete 
      • Retaliator variants in post production
      • new ground vehicle
      • new mining ship
    • New star map. You will need to watch the video to truly see what's next - but its impressive. porting the work done for SQ42 into the PU, tech is ready just needs adjustment to suit MMO instead of SP.
      • FPS map on the HUD, can put down POI that persist. You can save and share POI between party members setting waypoints, rendezvous points etc.
      • FPS map is dynamic, you can zoom from person, to location (including ship interior), to planet, to system seamlessly - all one map. This is important for POI because you can place down mining resource locations, salvage finds etc dynamically, then share those with party members. This will be the system used when selling exploration locations, mining claims and land claims.
