  1. Anything beyond loading mods from steam is outside my expertise. If we decide we want to do the operation get fatal accolades we will need to consult someone with server access. If we are to do side missions you will need ace1.9 and lingor. I think there was a post somewhere regarding the needed mods for the graw-arma2 missions, however the pizza-hut I just ingested has made my fingers all greasy and I am unable to use my mouse. To play vegas 2, you need vegas 2 and beer.
  2. Hello there my fellow Yank's and Confed's. Lately there's been plenty of Tac Play among the Spartans. However, if you are like me they typically occur at a point when we are at work. So, I will be online Friday night around 6-7pm CST to boot up some Tac Play. This can include some GRAW maps or even a few guys doing side missions. So drive your gas guzzling hummers and trucks home to your computer, eat some delicious and healthy McDonald's, and lets show those damn Limies on the other side of the pond, that we as Americans can do more than just screw the entire world economy. Be there or be square.

    ACE 1.9

So wait, I thought I came here to see ACE 1.9...hmmmm still investigating, will report back with findings. Wait! Snap, Grizz is back!
  4. If you decide to wander into a local pub, you better know the local futbol club fight song!
  5. Maybe sometime this weekend we can have a go at missions since, as I work until 5 CST, I am never able to make these events.
  6. Then explain to your SO, mom, dad, postman, local homeland security agent guy why they are covered in poo
  7. I have a relevant story: So about 3 months ago this fat guy across the breezeway from me decided to take it upon himself to find who was letting their dog shit right at the bottom of the stairs in the grass. Now i must tell you, these little brown pebbles were very obviously from a small toy dog. I myself own a 110 pound Canaan/Pyrenees mix. Some days he puts me to shame with his BM's. Somehow, this genius neighbor decided that of course, I am the culprit. His way of imposing justice was to attach signs to my door with pictures of a dog shitting labeling me as "careless." Which was fine, i tend not to give a shit. That was until he yelled at my wife in the parking lot one night she was coming home from work. Tisk tisk sir you just crossed the line. I tried reporting him, talking to management, blah, blah, blah. Nothing worked. So, this whole time i had been tearing the signs down only to have them magically reappear the next morning. So my fix? I sat and waited early one morning (I knew he left for work around 5Am). Every 5 minutes or so I would check the peephole. Sure enough at around 4:50 big guy waddles his way over to my door and is just about to pin up the sign when i quickly open the door with my dog by his collar in one hand. The look on his face was at the very least effin priceless. If you can just imagine a hefty gentlemen with a sign in one hand and a piece of tape in the other at your door with the hand in cookie jar look. Oh man. So after a nice short conversation with me explaining how large my dogs shits are, he said he was very sorry and that was that. Of course I could have screamed and yelled. but hey, how many chances to you get to tell your neighbor about how gigantic your dog's shits are? Good Luck EMT!
  8. Hopefully they have resolved the bugs since this version came out. Played in 32-bit mode and pounded my head against the wall several times. I am unable to play anymore without starting completely over as I have reached a dead end bug at my current save point.
  9. Lets say 6PM central as the start time.
  10. Hey Dudes, I will actually have a large amount of free time after work tonight. Will someone play Company of Heroes with me??? Pretty please?
  11. I attempted to use my 360 controller and it worked reasonably well. I mapped the right stick as my thrust which enabled hands off to be level flying. I believe i have it as follows: A - target B - flares X - switch weapon Y - camera mode Right Bumper - Turn/bank right Left bumper - Turn/bank left Right trigger - Fire Left Trigger - Un Mapped D-PAD - looking (I don't have TrackIR) Pushing the right stick in enabled autofire Pushing the left stick in enabled auto hover
  12. I love not having to actually check whats floating around on Reddit. I get my daily readers digest version from Medic on these forums. +1 Karma to Medic
  13. I would like the map to be put on something besides veteran before I give up on re-downloading ace every month. Also, it appears that evening players are pretty bleak on the arma servers so that kind of takes away from things as it is.
  14. Oh perfect. Hopefully he doesn't mind that I will build a tunnel access to the track.
  15. So if you've been walking around the server you might have noticed a stone and glass building going up (sorry EMT). What I am building is intended to be almost a headquarters/Apartment style building complete with offices and floors for people to have there own creative area to do whatever they want. The point of this is, is to have a storage box in each "office" so say if I want to drop 40 stacks of diamonds for Kal but he's not around, I go to his floor and drop them in his box. Here's where my idea comes in. Have we considered an underground track system that runs between everyone's buildings? It would involve a single track between each building with a sign that says where each track goes. Then you just build a powered cart and zoom off to go check out another end of the map. Just an idea, I invite anyone to go run around my building when it is done. Just dont steal my diamonds
  16. Ken Block is a stud, but no one will ever be as good as McRae; RIP.
  17. Whenever I think of Durka, I will now think of Jurassic park: Just before he gets attacked by a raptor Muldoon: Clever girl.
  18. I shot pheasant with a .410 as a kid and I can't tell you how many times I was left with only feathers. If you truly want to feel good about what you have, a 20 gauge at least will be recommended. But I promise in the heat of the moment you will have 20/20 vision and will hear the ants crawling across the carpet. The sound of the gun discharging will be the last on the list for what your brain will be processing in that moment. Some things to consider because Durka brings up some great points on this topic. Always always always call 911 if you can. Try and clearly explain your situation to the dispatcher. Convey that you have a weapon and will use it if threatened to any extent (its your right!). Your family comes first, but there will be a lawsuit; guaranteed. Clearly and concisely announce that you have a weapon and will use it to your intruder. 9/10 times they will run off. However, many laws require some sort of warning. Unless of course there is no opportunity. Remember, people always end in court when defending their home and family. Whatever you do, don't shoot someone in the back trying to run away. Most likely if someone is going to break into your house, it will be while you're gone. Believe it or not robbers are smart and know people own guns. Durka, I'd try not to let it grow to paranoia. Make sure to leave your gun unloaded but available. Nothing like having your door kicked down and trying to unlock a safe (do you think you could hit the 3 numbers on a dial with someone breaking in?). I hope this helps. Let us know what you end up doing. Edit: I almost forgot to say, as a professional in health safety field, any db spike around 120 can cause instantaneous hearing damage. A .22 LR fired inside will damage your hearing. Not shooting when you have to, or shooting sub-standard ammo could be even more injurious.
  19. In case anyone needed convincing: Knowing how to shoot a gun (safely) and defend yourself against an attacker will come in handy. WikiHow has several helpful articles such as How to Handle a Firearm Safely, How to Combat Ready (Tactically Prepare) Yourself with a Pistol, How to Defend Yourself from an Attacker , How to Defend Yourself, and How to Clear a Building with a Firearm. Why is knowing this so important? Won?t the cops help you if you get into a pickle? Uh?.did you know that the cops aren?t legally obligated to protect you? Seriously. Believe it or not even Steven Seagal, ?Lawman? may not have your back if you are being chased by a crazy loon demanding your Chicken McNuggets. The statement dispels every notion that if you call 911, someone will automatically help you. However in the book, ?Dial 911 and Die,? attorney Richard W. Stevens cites several cases, in nearly every state, where citizens fell victim to criminal attack without police response. In nearly every case, when the victim or their families tried to sue, the state dismissed the case or upheld its decision on appeal. Stevens says that the case of Hartzler v. City of San Jose illustrates his point. Ruth Bunnell called 911 for help when she was threatened by her estranged husband, however the police refused to respond for nearly 45 minutes. Bunnell was ultimately murdered by her husband. After reading this case, Stevens says that he was led to believe that, ?the government owes no duty to protect individual citizens from criminal attack.? Chilling conclusion, huh? TLDR; Get a shotgun, 12 gauge buckshot and aim for the chest.
  20. While a machine gun would be great, I think the ATF might have an issue with that. My home defense? A shotgun with the minimum legal barrel length and a pistol grip. For some reason intruders can be tempted still with a pistol in the mix. But one pump of a shotgun with 12 gauge buckshot always sends em running. And it very cheap and mobile. My two cents, if you want a cheap feel good home defense, buy a cheap home defense weapon that will work, not piss someone off. I had mentioned in my previous post about going to a pawn shop and getting a cheap pistol. The last thing you want is someone breaking in, you pulling your piece, and the shell jamming or misfiring. I can not say this enough, get a short barreled, pistol grip shotgun. And when the local homies are out in the streets, sit on your porch and clean the thing a few times; you'll have no problems.
