  1. A recent goal of mine was to lose weight. I wouldn't say I was obese however I was rather unhappy with myself and decided to jump on the bandwagon and see where I could take myself. I set a goal to kick all of coworkers asses in something called the Warrior Dash. Basically a 5k with obstacles throughout like swimming through a nasty pond (no not the atlantic ocean), climbing a 20 foot wall, etc. I ran it this past Saturday and beat everyone in the office by a long shot. Really quite happy with myself and thought I'd share. Here's a picture of my on the last obstacle and after the finish. I'm on the left looking like a tool doing my best "pretend like I'm not tired" pose.
  2. Everyone should be playing the potato sack games to get portal 2 released early!!!!!!!!!!
  3. Yeah, I recognize all the bands minus about 2 haha.
  4. Andrew "crusher of young dreams" man, thanks for the updates. Someday I will get to see how differently music is appreciated in Europe. Watched the Muse concert at Wembley and was blown away. Saw them live in Dallas and the crowd was talking and texting through the whole thing.
  5. Tickets sold out...sigh maybe next year
  6. Who is closest to this festival? I may sell my kidney for plane tickets this year and will require a place to shack up for a night before I backpack to the festival. Because really, who needs 2 kidneys? I did notice that The Prodigy isn't playing this year which saddens me.
  7. I concur. I almost lost my now wife and college degree all in the name of world first boss kills. The problem with Wow is that you can certainly play on a limited time budget. However, once you are level capped you will find quickly that the fun factor drops dramatically each time you enter a battleground or dungeon and get pwned frequently because you don't have the time to gear up. Its at that point you will find yourself wasting large amounts of time to get to a competitive gear and item level. Next thing you know you're installing mini-fridges next to your computer and the outdoor world becomes secondary (not that I know anything about this). Skaz, if you can keep it under control it is indeed a fun game. But don't expect to be at all competitive with other players when it comes to end game.
  8. I wonder if the inventor considered the amount of flow that will come out of a 1 inch pipe fed by a centrifugal type motor. "Here have a margarita and as a bonus you get to wear some too!"
  9. Out of curiosity, who is the target audience with this? The public or SPARTA only?
  10. Did someone say public beta? Oh wait I didn't buy into medal of honor...poopy
  11. I did see a TV show at some point where a some guy doing a TV special actually hit a bridge. From what I understand there wasn't much left.
  12. After a fall during skiing, you get up, shake your head and proceed to pick up your scattered gear. After falling off a bike, you rub some dirt in your wounds and keep going. After most car accidents, you collect insurance information and go about your day. With this sport it seems there are no accidents or miscalculations. The words "learning-curve" don't apply. I can't imagine getting into this sport or any like it.
  13. I'm sure you tried this, but I once had to run arma 2 vanilla as admin to refresh cache then startup OA normally.
  14. I'm willing to hold hands but only if we can skip around first.
  15. We've been playing the same damn domination style play for 2 years now. Having to drive, navigate, and avoid roadblocks on the way to meet up with teammates is fresh and new.
  16. Viper you crack my shit up. Someday before you are old (ha!) I am going to enjoy your sarcasm in person.
  17. It is important to note that the fallujah mission is very different from other missions we are used to. In order to understand what exactly is different, you first need to think of what is really happening in the current theater of war. It is my understanding that the creators of this mission wanted a realistic feel to the gameplay. So what does this mean to us? Here are a few basic pointers for when you join: 1. Only the TL will have the full gambit of information available to them. This includes GPS, mission markers, etc. 2. This is not DOM. There is no way to adjust settings, switch teams, or access view distance. 3. The medic play is extremely realistic and sometimes a pain. If you die in a car, the medic has to pull you out of the car, apply epinephrine, etc. 4. If you are killed, a medic has a certain amount of time to patch you before you bleed out. However there is no MHQ. So if you die, be prepared for a long walk back. 5. The entire city is the AO. Yesterday I had my Domination hat on and was racing towards my team members in a Humvee. About halfway I was met with a roadblock complete with RPG's, metis turret, and MG nest. 6. Last but not least, RIGHT WINDOWS KEY IS YOUR BEST FRIEND. If you can't figure out how to do something, its probably an option on using that key. Feel free to add to the list as information becomes available.
  18. THe fallujah map is fantastic! This could be a great opportunity to get some people in on a Saturday and actually have an American team and BAF team. Could set up comms and everything.
  19. Hey there. Just wanted to lay some things out before we have a go at this tonight. Depending on the group size, some things may be modified. First, the overall style of play will be tactical. This means tight comms (don't need 8 people yelling they're under fire or enemy bearings), selective fire (just because you see a tank and have anti-armor doesn't mean you should immediately use it) and selected roles. The overall strategy I would like to use involves utilizing all assets available. This includes full kits, armor, and air. To give you an example, if we run into a situation where a large group of hostiles are firing on us and pinning us down, I will call for a 50-100m retreat and utilize the A-10 with bombs to clear a small section out. Now keep in mind this does not mean the pilot of the A10 gets to free-fire. Example : "dragon-fly 1 you are clear for fire mission. Please use West to East heading. Ground forces are requesting payload times 2 between map designations." As you can tell this will be a bit different than normal tac as I like to use and entertain those who fly/drive. I will get things a bit more setup as people file in. Hopefully we can get a good size group and have some fun in a tactical style environment.
