  8. Today Bohemia Interactive confirmed the 25th of June as the official release date for the Arma 3 Beta. Building upon the well-received Arma 3 Alpha, the Arma 3 Beta features a varied selection of brand new content – including 10 vehicles, 7 weapons, 4 showcase missions (Combined Arms, Supports, Commanding & Night), 2 multiplayer scenarios and 4 challenges. Set against the beautiful backdrop of Stratis (20 km²), the Arma 3 Beta turns its focus towards firepower and logistics. The Challenges game mode will also be making its first appearance, enabling players to practice their weapons handling and movement across a selection of firing drills. Plus, all of the content from the Arma 3 Alpha will be available, alongside the popular scenario editor and modding support. “Having just showed off the Beta for Arma 3 at E3 2013, we are keen to get it into gamers' hands quickly. Bringing some heavy firepower and additional transport options will allow for more diverse scenarios in both singleplayer and multiplayer. We also can't wait to open up the Steam Workshop scenario publication, which will make content-sharing with other players much more convenient.“Joris-Jan van ‘t Land, Project Lead on Arma 3 People who are currently participating in the Arma 3 Alpha will gain access to the Arma 3 Beta through anautomatic Steam update. Those who are new to Arma 3 can join in by purchasing the Arma 3 Beta (which includes a version of the full game) from Steam or Store.bistudio.com. The price of the Arma 3 Beta, in comparison to the Arma 3 Alpha, will be increased. The regular Arma 3 Beta will be available for 34.99 EUR/29.99 GBP/44.99 USD (current price: 24.99 EUR/19.99 GBP/32.99 USD), while the Arma 3 Digital Deluxe Edition will be sold for 44.99 EUR/39.99 GBP/59.99 USD (current price: 39.99 EUR/34.99 GBP/49.99 USD). Please note that the current (heavily discounted) Alpha deal, which includes Beta-access and the full game, will still be available until Tuesday June 25th. Those who would like to sponsor development further have the option to purchase the Arma 3 Supporter Edition(69.99 EUR/59.99 GBP/91.99 USD) from Store.bistudio.com. The Arma 3 Alpha Lite, a free but limited variant of the Arma 3 Alpha, will be discontinued after June 25th. -------------------------------- Original News post HERE -------------------------------
  9. Arma 3 Alpha Grows Up, Will Be Beta Soon By Craig Pearson on June 24th, 2013 at 5:00 pm. Tweet this All good things must come to an end, and the Arma 3 Alpha is pretty good (Steam says I’ve played it for a healthy 36 hours). If you’re still considering buying it, you only have one more day left to buy it at the alpha price of €24.99, £19.99, $32.99. Tomorrow the Alpha fades out, like a flare sputtering its last embers of warning light, and the beta replaces it. It has more official content: 10 vehicles, 7 weapons, more showcase missions (Combined Arms, Supports, Commanding & Night), 2 multiplayer scenarios and 4 challenges, and with it comes a base price of €34.99, £29.99, and $44.99. Think of it as a military upgrade, or a nice new pair of trousers. The showcases include a new night mission, a look at the command mode, and a giant combined arms battle that uses some of the new hardware they’re shipping. They’re still only giving us Stratis, though, so the full game’s Altis remains tantalisingly out of reach for now. It’s also missing the Steam Workshop integration. When that eventually ships, players will be able to upload missions directly from the game’s editor to the Steam Workshop for others to test. That’s a big win for casual players looking for more content. If you already have the alpha and you’re impatient, a little bird tells me all you need to do is right click the game on your Steam Library, select ‘properties’ then ‘betas’. If you opt into the development build there, the game will update. Just before E3, the Bohemia team streamed the game from their offices. I watched one live, and can now appreciate the level of calm the developers had when their attached chatroom was flooded with ASCII penises. You can enjoy the two hours below, shorn of all winkies. -------------------------------- Original news post HERE -------------------------------- It's getting there! Wonder if they have enabled JAVA yet MH :]
  10. The community base was started as a sort of spring off place for our new/veteran players to knock off the rust in an area chocked FULL of supplies. All someone has to do to get the parts necessary for building is literally make laps through the walled industrial complex directly next to base. In less than 2 hours you will have ALL the necessary components to branch off into your own place to store items/sleep. Main thing is I wouldn't put my personal gear in community center anymore (consider we can get random players joinin in at kamini anytime and poof its ALL gone not just a wheel or two :/). I mean what would you do spawning in a random server and run across a field of almost one of every working vehicle...? One or two laps through and you should have all the repair parts for your UAZ (a fancy car with no storage). I'd take that around and find an APC or a Scrap buggy as they have massive storage and are fairly agile/ mobile, hide the UAZ (let the clan gaming community know it exists and is mine) then go and find a place to start building. Watch this, learn this, do this for your own house. All that being said, as long as the community base persists when you park your vehicles look around at where you are vs line of fire coming from the hangars/industrial area. Reversely as well, watch your fire when you are at base... pray and spray will end up in accidental deaths, popped tires, engine block gone, etc etc etc... Lets use our heads, this isn't call of duty you WON'T prestige, the cars don't park themselves and repair parts dont appear in vehicles, they are put there by considerate individuals of your gaming community.
  11. Yes, Sir. I'd Suggest going ahead and saving a large Taviana Map to your hard drive so you can have a little idea where you are going till you get a map.as it may get dark outside
  12. Bring Everything up to date (A2, OA, and Commander) and install Origins in the Install/update area of DayZ commander. Pretty much, also be prepared to wait for at least 1 full minute each time you try to connect as it does some checks on your haxxxx Well kick the tires and light the fires! LETS ROLL OUT! <--- sweet atv http://youtu.be/mgU5D99L4tg i kid i kid
  13. Arma 2, Arma 2 OA, DayzCommander (install origins), if you're running it through steam this is helpful.
  14. One relief we all have is you can access your gear using the G key with no fear of 'nading your fellow teammates/yourself lol
  15. O shit i didn't see the epic triple, now i feel like a dummy for posting the same one 2x. Nevertheless, i am excite... and i am downloading dayz commander and A32 CO... lets create a new origins channel and get to work!
  16. Definitely after seeing this release that happened yesterday.. o.0 Is origins a mod for vanilla a2? or is there a mile long list i need to keep up to date
  17. I'm unsure if we ever actually played Zed together, if we had I'm sure this wouldn't be your stance. Constantly Direct chatting with other players. Also when the ECWC formed we basically had 2 groups of 6+ players one on the western side and one on the eastern side. It was a mod of a deathmatch game mode, and we WERE playing an FPS military simulator so there was definitely the COD jerk offs shooting everything in sight, thats to be expected. Plus Tyler says it best at the end of that video on post #10 "if you're in our group and you aren't TS, you deserve to be shot"
  18. DUDE! i was going to say the way you feel and the memories when someone says "hey remember on mt skalka when ______.." LOL and yes... what a strange strange (for me anyways) and shitty day that was for everyone. no skaz, as you said... you werent there ;* For the lone wolfs... yeah pretty much, but for the Spartans (ASSEMBLE!!!!) it was the matter of playing the game with survival tactics, figuring out who else on map was friendly, getting gear and supplies for each other (and sometimes without asking *tee hee*), fixing vehicles and building a base with MULTIPLE heli's, Raiding cherno, and if a team mate gets killed we did our best to seek out and destroy the enemy and secure our buddies gear. The thing is DayZ isn't going to be "most zombie games" I have faith in whats not disclosed for everyone, you have to respect his privacy (i mean did everyone forget he was COMPLETELY ripped off by WAR Z!?!?). I'm looking forward to joining with the proud stragglers who will be joining in That being said... Video time
  19. I agree, I believe that its more a compatibility (as well as get it done already) issue. Going with "cutting edge" engine is going to mean he has to start all over (as slow as he moves we definitely don't want that lol) and work hand in hand with the arma3 team progressing that engine before being able to mod it to be usable in dayZ. Then we're right back to arma 2 glitches and inventory fuckups and patch.. patch.. hotfix.. RAAAAAAGE! All in all I am doing is looking at it for what it is. A game that has been in development for 2 years (and somewhat unfortunately we kept a close eye on and were HEAVILY involved early on). A sandbox zombie themed multiplayer that plays with familiar if not exact controls to the ARMA series as their keyboard controls/ joystick mapping/ Track IR, and simulation capabilities are near and dear to me. Third and finally, this is the closest thing we'll have to a complete arma 3 game, perhaps we can start gaming together ARMA style again soon? All the feeling and floods of images you get when someone says "Oh yeah remember that time in Cherno when..." ...I'm hoping for a similar if not better experience keeping zombies from ripping you fuckers apart lol. Here's a trip down memory lane for some Spartans
  20. That's EXACTLY what I said when watching at a part where he crosses diagonally between some buildings looking over his shoulder. If I had to guess its because hes trying to get it on console and get it "soon". Arma 3 hasn't even made the leap to full release yet... ahhhh full release... so nice ... but anyways, it also sounds like when hes "redoing weapons completely" and vehicles as well "later on, perhaps all at once in a patch" hes planning on the DayZ origins/Arma3 gimmicks of customizable vehicles (look out mad max here we come), and weapons attachments. Not saying he's made the smartest moves for developing/producing the game *AHEM* CLIMBINGMOUNTEVERESTINSTEADOFFINISHINGTHEGAAAME *AHEM* but he says it best toward the end of the video i believe its something like, That's the problem we (game designers) face with including players and outside input, when they could have been completely private and secretive about their work... or "That's the Problem with Hype" Either way... If he's going console I really hope he allows cross platforming... Like Portal 2 did through PS3 and Steam. UHHHNNNN head shotting someone doing the old slow motion controller turning.. would be epic.
  21. Everyones favorite guy! Dean "Rocket" Hall bumble farts around with zombies leaping around like electrified cats as well as confirming DayZ for consoles.
