  1. Alright here is music option 02. I am going to upload both options @ 1920x1080 and post a link to download. I will try a couple conversion as well, but I'm on a MAC right now at work and won't have access to my PC until I get home. OGV has a lot of trouble on MAC, so you might have better luck converting them in the meantime.

And here is the link: http://we.tl/98209ZKSYJ

EDIT: I think I am liking this one more.

  2. Here it is updated. Volume reduced and without such a slamming intro. That sound at :04 is an air raid siren, I also smoothed it out and turned it down. New file attached. Getting OGV shortly. The other sound effect is a radio chatter and some gunfire, I thought it fit the ARMA theme okay. If you don't like it, I can probably find something to replace it.

  3. Hey guys,

I made a quick video intro for our ARMA 3 Missions with updated info. See attached.

Unfortunately, I didn't have a lot of time to spend on it, and won't have much in the near future but this should be good for now. I had some other ideas but this was what was doable in the timeframe.

It ends kind of abruptly because I am not sure how it will transition in ARMA 3. I think it just cuts straight to the map image so I think it should be okay, if it hangs at all on the last frame then I will make a new one having it go to black.

Kal, I know you need this in a specific file format, I'll work on getting that here shortly and send it to you a link via PM.

    Thanks.

  4. Had a lot of fun playing this last night on the Altis map (Dev Beta). Seems like this would be a great jack-of-all trades type mission. Very scalable depending on how many people are on

Mission Name: Dynamic Universal War System

    Link: http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=21816

    Game Type: Coop

    Description:

The DUWS generate randomly a mini campaign, with all the enemy zones to capture being randomly generated.
Or you can also choose to manually place your HQ and the enemy and easily make your own unique "campaign".
The key here is to have maximum replayability, where the player can setup his own campaign or let the DUWS create everything randomly for him.

    • - Play as a lone wolf or as a SF team, using support assets and gadgets and perform side missions
      - Control your personnal squad of troopers and fight against the OPFOR
      - Control several squads, vehicles and supports and try to retake the island from the enemy (not yet implemented, since I'm waiting for High Command module to be released(I hope))
      - ...or a mix of all of them

    * Pretty much every location is randomly generated on the map, from the HQ to the enemy zones and side mission locations.
    * Random side mission, with names randomly generated
    * Play the DUWS on any island you want to.
    * VAS by Tonic (Armory)
    * Several support options to unlock (UAV, Arty, Personnal FLIR, VAS, ...)
    * You can define by yourself the HQ, the enemy zones, or just the HQ and let the DUWS generate the zones automatically. You can also let the DUWS create everything by itself. Basicly you decide the level of randomization there is.

(YouTube trailer isnt embedding but you can see it at the link)

The last transmission from X Rebirth was back in 2011. Originally due out that year, we decoded juicy details about your spaceship, your drones, and the boss-around-able NPCs manning your craft. Then the space simulation vanished back into the star-womb to continue its gestation. Nearly two years later, it’s ready to be reborn, with a confident trailer and a release date of November 15 for Europe, and November 19 for North America.

The trailer shows that they’ve managed to cram everything we love about hard sci-fi into a convenient game-shaped package: space highways, intergalactic trade routes, and a cockpit that lets you fire explosion-causing lasers in a variety of pretty colors

What took so long with the whole birthing process, anyway? Egosoft head Bernd Lehahn says that it was all about embiggening the universe. “Our goal with the design of X Rebirth was to achieve a huge scale,” he explains in this video, the first of X Rebirth’s series of development diaries. “I do not mean the physical size of the universe, which is easy to increase. I am talking about a living, breathing futuristic universe crawling with life.”

You should see this as an innovative new jaunt into the X universe. As with previous games in the series, you’ll get to Trade, Fight, Build, Think, but now there’s all-new design and a significant graphical update. Also, you apparently won’t need a “PhD in advanced space game menus” to get through Rebirth, which is great news for those of us who didn’t land a scholarship at space college. The Steam page is up, too. Though there are no details on pricing yet, we are given an idea of just how much computer muscle we’ll require to run all those galaxies.

  6. Fully behind this. I (still) strongly believe that DayZ will be more popular as a mod in ARMA 3 than the standalone in ARMA 2.5.

There are just too many obstacles to overcome in the current engine, and there hasn't been a single video or evidence that Dean's group has been able to do it. I think he'll do a soft launch with 'better zombies' as a future update and either we'll never see it or he'll announce a new version for ARMA 3.

  7. There is an APC in Molotovsk (sp?) along the east coast. It's the city with a giant ferris wheel. The APC is located on the West side of the warehouse compound (next to the main road). APC's have like a 500 slot storage and are perfect for house building.

    You'll need to repair though,

  8. For those that havent played origins -- it takes place on a custom map called Taviana, and the developers have done a really great job giving it a post-apoc feel. There is tons of custom content and ways to have permanent safe storage once you get gear you want to hang on to, though it takes some time. Lot's of vehicles that you can customize with armor plating, taking good tires off of vehicles, syphoning gas - things like that.

If you are waiting for standalone and haven't played origins, I think this will almost be better.

  9. Hey Crispy I am down to help out with a server if we can get a group of people playing.

DayZ Commander is super simple and will update your ARMA 2, DayZ, and you can auto install Origins. It will keep all of them up to date.

  10. I never understood why they stuck with the ARMA 2 (I mean 2.5) engine and didn't go with ARMA 3. This looks like a more polished ARMA 2 Mod, nothing worthy of a standalone. To be honest, the stuff that http://www.dayzorigins.com/ is making is already better than what I have seen even announced for DayZ.

And sticking with Chernarus just seems so lazy. I remember saying that he should have sold the rights to DayZ to a team of people that know what they are doing and just make a cool 5% profit.
