  1. Right on, nothing out of the ordinary-just the regular Lingor bits.
  2. This may work. Do you mean ARMA2-GRAW? What's the forum post for the right d/ls. I've been out of the game a couple months' now.
  3. I think my machine is stable enough now to run it. That's 20:30 GMT? 17:00 my time. It'll be, no shit. That's too early with supper making duties. Dammit family. Friday night perhaps.
  4. Amongst all the BF3 chatter I took a look at the BRINK website for hopes they might finish first. If they're telling the truth, then May 17 for N. America and May 20 for EU. It's definitely on my list. How to build an awesome world. Brink:Splash interview
  5. Pretty pictures. What about content? Apparently BF3 has a single player storyline, a switch from previous BF2, 1942/3, etc. But for MP-no command/tactical functions? Is this really a plain fps like COD?
  6. they cancelledAt least they finally admitted that they cancelled PC1943 Still looking forward to it, but I won't preorder. Lessons learned from 1943 (watching others flail over their lost $15, of course). They had better f'ing include command functions again for tactical play. Edit:-What gives with the hyperlink? I put that later in the sentence, but it bumped to the beginning? Second link (cut and paste for now, the hyperlink is fubar): http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2011/02/03/march-cover-revealed-battlefield-3.aspx It's the game informer's March cover, and it gives me pause. Note the text at the bottom. "DICE sets its sights on Call of Duty" NOO! Shithauled, another twitchy lone wolf game. No way would I suggest a preorder until we learn more about this thing. I'll be dissapointed if COD is their goal, but there's still future soldier on the horizon
  7. Is there a show that makes me more green with envy? NO That ripsaw looks like a puke-machine the way it pitches and gimballs.
  8. Yeah, I know we pay a bundle. But what is he talking about, downloads of what? FYI-those $s are bunk. I averaged the six 160GB SSDs available via Newegg.ca (best prices in CAN hands down). Average price in CAN is $409.50/160GB or $2.56/GB. The closest I could get to 24h Shipping is UPS Expedited Int'l at $33, bringing the total per GB to $2.77. That makes me do to things; A.) doubt his argument and B.) feel even worse about my tech access compared to the rest of N. America! I don't have the time to price out the rest, but I am curious which is the cheapest per GB of the different SSDs. Cheers-
  9. I thought it might help marginally with gaming connectivity, trying to cut out any bottleneck between Newfoundland and y'all. The Atlantic seems to be the biggest bottleneck. Hard to beat it.
  10. snowshoe's post reminded me of what I keep forgetting to ask. What advantages would I see using cat-6 patch cables over 5e from a 10mbit modem to a linksysE3000 router, then another cat-6 patch from the router to machine (both cables under 6', and the newer type RJ/coax cable feeding modem). Is it worth the fuss?
  11. BF heroes is around still, but nobody touches it because of their fee structure. This is a remake of the popular Battlefield 2. The beta, over now, was their stress-test of the system. It was a run-through of 'Strike at Karkand', but with a few changes and a single-kit-only character setup. Fun to re-run old turf, but I quit when hackers got into it.
  12. It was fun until the hackers got in- (yes, already)
  13. Beta stress-test on Saturday, use the following key FSPQ-6PXK-5U6J-HZ29 http://battlefield.play4free.com/en/?om_u=2261809090&om_i=_BNMOdDB8XS8U$e
  14. How do I remove the game from steam to run independently? Is it as simple as a cut&paste from the commonapps folder?
  15. I run the steam version. I haven't time now, but at lunch I'll poke around the web to see if I can patch up the steam version to 1.4. Or maybe the only way to do it with steam is to get the U-boat exp that bumps it to 1.5. Why is this game so buggy? It doesn't seem terribly script-heavy (like ARMA2), since there isn't much going on relative to other games we play (or is there)? @ Halli, have you tried the O'Kane targeting method? I read on it yesterday for the first time-the theory makes sense if the sub stays silent until firing.
  16. I noticed in the patch notes that 1.1 fixed a number of 'random crashes', so if we're at 1.3 already than I might be SOL.
  17. I've crashed regularly in SH4, and I thought it was my machine being foolish until I caught the lag out on an alt-tab just in time. The game was using several Gigs of RAM! It takes an hour or so for it do to this, but I am inclined to patch-up to whatever the current is in the hopes of a fix. Any players have similar problems?
  18. What is this program? Do iphones transcribe voice?
