  1. Since returning from the field I've proceeded to play catch-up with our new home instead of banging around Chernarus. So-I had a whack at what turned out to be three young red currant shrubs and four black currant shrubs. From what I read online after a short search offered pruining tips about knocking back all 4yr+ stems, and keeping the lot to just 2 or 3 good younger stems. After looking at the plants and the number of above-ground independent stems on the plant, it looks like I'm due to remove just about all of the plant. It seems like the idea is to put the growth energy into berries over stems and leaves, but the stems are so small that I can't see much berry potential from just 3 stems. Is that right? Currants are a common UK thing, so maybe one of you knows the right way to care for them, help them grow to the right shape, etc. Oddly enough, the best currant-producing branch at present was one that was nearly severed at the base a year or two ago (given regrowth) AND that was buried under other branches near the ground.
  2. I've spent the last hour poking through some of the groups performing this weekend in town. A link via watersoncarthy.com revealed this little treasure (for me, perhaps the brits see this as old-hat?)
  3. No, not me, but the guy in the silly photo.
  4. Freeze/non-response bug. To reproduce, deploy ammo crate, drop all main weapons AND magazines. Attempt to pick up stinger w/2 missiles. I reproduced this freeze twice. Ideas?
  5. (A brief moment of wireless from afar) Just before the camera's view dips beneath the trench, it looks like the munitions are striking perpendicular to the previous left-right run, just to the right of the forwardmost soldier. Is that right from your view? If so, how did the pilot A) turn so quickly in an A10 and B ) engage perpendicular to the previous coordinates anyway?
  6. The parts are here-took 'em long enough. Stupid island in the frozen Atlantic. I fixed up the webcam this AM, knocked the IR filter out of a Logitech C200 and replaced it with a snippet of 3.5' floppydisc material. The freetrack software is reading the cam fine, now to see if I can have a workable headset before going away this weekend for several weeks.
  7. Wednesday, young padawan.
  8. I tried it a couple times and so far no-go. I'll have to look at the task sched. and see if I missed something. The part where I might be incorrect is whether the task runs at startup or at login. When I boot up, I go straight to my desktop, so I assumed that a login of some sort happened by default. The MSI 'allow' screen is the first to pop up once the desktop appears, and it's there I wanted the task to kick in. I thought that if I went with startup, that the program would somehow 'miss' its appropriate startup procedure. Does that matter?
  9. Yes on Sprocket. I started to d/l on Saturday, but their website went down probably due to traffic overflow? It took about 3.5 hours to complete the d/l after the painful struggle to get their installer on my machine. I would have gone through steam for consistency in file locations, but I only learned they were selling it after purchasing from sprocket.
  10. Downloaded, installed, and waiting for the code to activate tomorrow. Fieldwork is delayed for weather to Saturday, what a stroke of luck!
  11. What's the modline parameter to start a program and skip the admin-approval window? Whenever I start up, MSI Afterburner asks if it can run. I'd like to automatically give the approval for that one. Thanks.
  12. Batwing-Do you mean that the sprocket version is a pirate copy, or did I miss something?
  13. Downloading from Sprocket now. Too bad I'll be away from civiliz when the game activates on Tues.
  14. For tactics, does this grid include shut-down due to powerlines going down, or placeable generators for various military camps? That'd be a really immersive addon-They'd need to create Chernarus Light and Power civi groups to race around the map with US escorts repairing all the powerlines.
  15. Anyone heard of this one? A coming MMORPG. https://account.globalagendagame.com/garegister/support/registration_base_trial.aspx
  16. Damn, I thought you meant Top Gun. I was getting all twitchy for a Tom Cruise sequel.
  17. Cable guy swapped modems and changed the jack at the junction box on the pole. The signal is improved, but he isn't sure why, because the previous equipment all tested out fine (except for wireless tx/rx) Anyhow, he checked it off to crappy refurbished equipment. I still need to sort out the house electrical, the ground issues are funky and I don't know how long this machine will work with such bad power. This weekend will be power project time.
  18. So the bulk of the move is complete, and I'm a bloody pile of muscle ache in recovery. Now the fun starts. Cable man was in, ran new wires and had all of our services humming in a couple hours. That night (Monday night), we found the wireless wasn't working. After a call to service, they said the router had fried. Picked up an exchange yesterday (standard G-wireless 2-antenna from SMC), and this one is transmitting only a dozen feet or so. Second service call lined up for this afternoon to troubleshoot that one. The service dept. said he should come equipped with a few different router models, including their better 'N' version, to see what gives. I don't think it's completely the fault of the router though. Our home inspection identified two rev. polarity outlets and other items fixed prior to our closing date. Now that we're in, I found three additional bad outlets. I'm also following a number of panel leads using old 2-wire romex...many 3-prong 15A outlets don't even have a ground at all! I tested the outlet that had provided router power, and it seemed steady at 123.6v/59.95hz (visual on my fluke meter for about 15s). It did however show a 12vAC leak from the Hot to Ground (357mA leak neutral-ground). What else might be causing problems? I'm likely going to run new romex to a couple office outlets, and replace the outlets too, hoping to mitigate who-knows-what behind the walls. The panel is an appropriate breaker 100a service, but I'm all scared-like for what I'm going to find over the coming weeks! This is the panel pre-fix (the wirenut connection should be dealt with now).
  19. I'm one of the testers for A2PR. We're in the middle of gameplay testing now, refining the system and trying to separate old development habits from the limited BF2 engine compared to ARMA2. Also custom object and map dev work ongoing. It won't have the same amount of toys as ACE2, and it will not be compatible with any additional addons; the anticipation is a stand-alone formal gameplay type to force good teamwork, same philosophy as BF2PR. It may or may not suit the SPARTA crowd, because it is also strictly PvP. The difference is the game should avoid much of the pvp chaos in Berzerk and other pubber ARMA2 servers.
  20. Nice. But I'm sure people in this forum are a better sort, so I'll present this conundrum. Someone put all this extra junk in my friend's family photo. Can someone remove the junk (in the trunk?)
  21. There's a grass airfield at Balota, if that helps. I took off in the RUS 2-seater thingy just fine
