  1. Hi guys I have an internet connection back and I have just started updating all of my old missions to make them better and get any bugs out. This includes removing Fast Rope which has always been a problem. Anyone interested in playing through them from next weekend? Will not be ACE2 - but will be essentially Medic only revive (limited number). We've never really done the Podagorsk missions from start to end and they are good missions.
  2. IMO it's dead. If it has only got 1700 pledges then it has no future and will die like all the other teams that tried to develop a game or a complex mod but couldn't get support (and there have been hundreds of those).
  3. well it seems I upset a few ppl at GB trying to tell them why there venture was failing...oops. lol but it looks like GB has only managed to gain 1700 pledges for $100,000 total - still $325K short of the target. maybe another 5 years for GB? maybe the end for BFS? well we have Arma3 so not to worry.
  4. i have just moved house and discover i have no internet con here f*%$ it - so who knows how long I'll be off gaming for. i will just work at updating all my GR missions into one dloadable pack. and i will be back even i have to move house again, for Arma3. when that happens i will start promoting LOSC in Australia to get the numbers up in my neck of the woods. Lighty.
  5. for those who still don't believe this team is committed - http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/670743543/ground-branch/posts/251162 these guys aren't playing games here so don't waste this chance for some small doubts in your mind about whether this game will get up. pledge a few dollars and let's get a new tac shooter!
  6. If I do any new missions then it will be stock - I had actually started some but not finished em. They are on latest version of lingor. As for new map - there are 2 worth a look - Island of Dingor - desert version of Lingor. or Pre-cursor to Arma3 - Greek Island of Capreia is it? 10x10km. Only read great reviews on the textures on this island.
  7. I made love to my missus the other nite - I refer to it as the Giant Breach.
  8. there are some fantastic new maps that have been released of late - not sure if we want to start adding those to create a really fresh experience. not sure of the complexities involved with doing that. want to keep it simple for everyone.
  9. Do we want to turn it up one notch from next week in terms of difficulty level? Not saying jump to ACE2 (not really keen to go to that level for now) - but for starters no enemy visible on map. And perhaps Medic only revive? Alos, in current format what islands are playable for Domination?
  10. was ggz - sorry i had to go early - preparing to move house. will b on same time tomorrow or later today. actually thinking i will focus on getting a Sthn hemisphere LoS group going so the servers will be full all the time.
  11. what Sparta file are we using? or none? il be on from 8pm gmt which is 6 am my time :/
  12. @ EBE typo in your sig quote - 'burn their paths..... (not there) ;)
  13. I'm keen to join you boys - what time please. List of required mods? Maps? Patch up to? Lighty.
  14. I hear ya cant wait for Arma3 and will be preparing for that.
  15. one major difference unfortunately Watchman - Serellan has built nothing for Takedown yet, it's all conceptual at this stage. BFS has got the engine and ingame functionality as you can see in the promo vids - he just needs to finish off.
  16. I love you too Batwing and I appreciate you taking the cynical approach. But a couple of things.... Lots of the COD players and others like to play Hardcore mode...is it possible they would switch over after they saw a true hardcore mode? I would say yes. There is a risk that the Dev may not come through but what if a Dev could produce the best game ever if you just put a bit of faith in them? Rather then asking one big investor to wear all the risk, he asks the ppl who actually want the game to share the risk (miniscule risk for each person). Without going into Risk Management discussion, just because the big investors have said the risk is too great to wear it all, does not mean the risk is too great for anyone to invest. Your personal risk would be insignificant in comparison if the game never makes it. $50 or $100 lost versus half a million. It is still imo a risk that is definitely worth taking because the reward far outweighs the potential loss. If the game is a success then more players will come and more money to invest further into the game without spending millions on movie effects but focusing on core gameplay. I tell you why this isn't a scam - is because John Sonedecker has been grinding away at this for years and has not given up. He is just looking for a better way. Take a look at the core mechanics so far, his investment so far in UE3 and the Tree creator tool, bringing the sound guy on board to start work. It's all there but he just needs some believers to pay upfront rather then at the end and I don't think thats an unreasonable request.
  17. If ppl don't pledge they won't - if they do it might get up. Here's the benefit of Kickstarter - if you pledge but they don't reach the target then you don't get charged. It's only if the 425,000 is passed that you will be billed. So its a win-win. Pledge already and let's see this get up guys. Even if you can only manage $15, every bit helps.
  18. Guys I know we all love a realistic FPS and over the years we have watched a lot of good games turn to shit and move further and further away from realistic. But here is an opportunity that should not be passed up, it really shouldn't. I would say this will be your only chance to see a Developer create a game that takes into account all that is real and builds a truly realistic experience from the ground up. This won't happen again is my strong belief and if you ever wanted to assist a Dev to see this become a reality then now is your chance. The Dev is serious - he's aleady put 5 years in and stuck by the vision of what this game will be and aside from a few donations he has funded the entire thing himself. For you, all that is being asked is to show your support to see this thing through by pledging some money towards it, for a few bucks you could make the difference between this happening or not. And the thing is, at the end of the day, you/we are the ones who will benefit. Your pledge can even buy you gr8 rewards and first releases of the game when it is built. It's low risk - everythings a risk to some degree. Even when you buy a game off the shelf there is a risk that it will be a piece of shit. I strongly urge you to take a look and if you think the potential is there then support it. I'm certain that if this game is built that there will be no regrets from anyone who took a chance right now. Have a look at what has been built now out of John's own pocket, it is impressive becoz he's done it all himself essentially. But he needs us to help him bring it home. As serious tactical gamers, I think we owe it to support a Dev like this for everyones sake. Check it out please - And tell you're other tactical gaming mates about it too.
  19. Please read thread about Ground Branch - could be a key decision we make for the future.

  20. I had a think about this last nite guys and I would urge everyone to get involved and pledge something even if it's only a small amount. The fact is we have all been crying out for the most realistic FPS to be released for many years. While there are decent FPS out there, nothing has quite nailed it yet. Here is what I would consider to be a one-off opportunity to support a Dev who truly believes in and aims to build this game and I think it is worth a few bucks to see this game created once and for all. Big publishers have the dollars to produce what the mass market of run n gunners want but there is no place for realistic tacshooters apart from Arma series. Basically your dollars now will buy you the game in the future - that's not unreasonable in fact it's a great deal. I would urge you to take a look, have a think and hand over some coin before the opportunity passes. I would also suggest that you tell all your FPS friends about it and encourage them to buy-in. In the end it will benefit us all. Lighty
  21. Not saying it is worth funding but maybe it is - check out the Kickstarter campaign - There are some good rewards in the offer like games if you pledge a certain amount and your money will only be taken if the Kickstarter raises the target figure. I think $400G is a stretch but you never know. I know that John Sonedecker will build as realistic as possible tactical shooter so if thats what you're after then I would get in now. No more expensive then buying the game if it was released really. Hope you're all well guys - I miss you. Lighty
  22. hmmm interesting I have actually commenced work on a new campaign on Lingor 1.337. This will require ACE2 so will take advantage of the ACE Medic system, and also some really nice special forces units. I also highly recommend learning to use SixUpdater if you haven't yet - it is so easy once its set up and ensures you always have latest versions running. Also using ACRE on the server I normally play on - absolutely fantastic mod too to enhance realism, and very few bugs with it nowadays.
  23. thanx guys - appreciate it. haven't seen you all for a long time but im still here waiting in the wings for Arma3. playing some Arm2 with Ace2 and ACRE in australia with a bunch of peeps at the moment. take care all y'all.
  24. happy birthday mate - dint realise you were old man. ;)
