  3. You have Hunter to thank for that. It was initially only for squad XML but I decided to use it for the access permissions so we have everything in one place. Also makes it easier on us because members can add themselves. So everyone make sure you setup your profile!
  4. Within the next couple of days, the Sparta access list will be going into effect. What this list does exactly, is prohibit people that are not registered on our forums and active on teamspeak from operating the more powerful vehicles such as artillery and combat aircraft. Now, if you are reading this, you are most likely a forum member. So all you will need to do is add your ArmA 3 Profile ID to your Sparta forum profile. You can do this by clicking your name in the top-right of the screen, clicking My Profile, and then click Edit Profile. You need to fill out your ArmA 3 in-game name and your ArmA 3 profile id in the bottom of your forum profile, and click Save. To find your Arma 3 profile id, launch ArmA 3, click Options, click Profile, click Edit, and copy (highlight the text and press left control + c) the ~17 character long ID from the profile field and paste it into your forum profile. Once this is done, you will automatically be given vehicle permissions once the access list goes live. If you do not do so, you may find yourself unable to enter anything other than light ground transport vehicles. So keep that in mind. This server-side addon will also allow anyone registered on the forums to run any mod they desire without having to get us to add it to the server first: another reason to add your profile ID to the forums if you are one of the countless people enjoying their myriad of client-side mods. A third benefit is that should you accidentally teamkill someone (or someones, or 30 someones if you are flying), you will not be automatically kicked. This system will be put in place to help keep some of the more sinister public players in check and thus will give members a free pass--though should members intentionally TK, they will be dealt with by an admin. Also, if you are a Spartiate or above, doing this will add you to the Squad XML file so that you can get the Sparta tag/emblem in-game. So, just a heads up. Be sure to save your ArmA profile information in the forum so you will be ready when the access list goes live..
  5. Looks fantastic man, great work. One critique: We may want to turn the volume down just a bit. Might scare some peeps when they join with full volume and get blasted by the first few seconds of audio.

  7. Finally conquered the Arabian peninsula. Had to break some ties with nations I've been at peace with for a long time to do it too. I will leave Qirdi alone in Jerusalem though, as he is allied to me. Now it is time for my army to sail to Iberia, and then I will push northward into France.

  10. What's funny is that almost all of that was from yesterday. Tuesday night I only had Sicily, Knossos, Salamis, Side, and Sparta. Once I started down the African coastline, I started picking up speed, conquering Garamantia and Egypt. Then I hit Antioch and the Seleucid War began. During that war, city after city fell to Spartan rule with alarming speed. Because of the close proximity of cities, I was able to push north and east very quickly. I will be posting a timeline with major battles/wars and the general path of my expansion soon. 'Cause I'm bored.

I take this oppurtunity to capture it, securing a booming trade port and allowing me to trade with more than just Athens Trade routes explode. Initially land locked and only able to trade with Athens, once Athenai was secured nations began offering trade agreements left and right. Trade routes swelled past 10 in just a few short turns. With the additional trade income, Spartan war machine gears up for an invasion. Sparta sides with Macedon, Seleucid declares war on Sparta. Sparta is now at war with 6 nations: Seleucia and its satraphies Province of Media Magna is conquered Province of Parthia is conquered Siege of Seleucia 1400 men Garrison successfully repels enemy force of 3000 men. Reinforcements arrive and cut down all remaining enemy forces in area Armies move east to conquer enemy territories. 105 BC Egpytian Emergence Egypt once again emerges as a nation in Aethiopia. They send a small army to attack Myos Homos, but it is repelled by a hastily hired mercenary fleet I positioned in the harbor. They repeat the attack three times, and are repelled at every turn. They finally relent and their only city rebels. 100 BC Fall of Seleucia and its Allies Hunt down and kill the last few remaining Seleucid units, which were trying to escape on the Caspian Sea. Seleucid Empire is no more Cleaning up its satraphies, main one being Aria Only a few former satraphies remain, and Sparta is closing in... 98 BC Planned: Naval invasion of southern Arabian Peninsula Acheived next rank of Imperium. Allows 12 armies max. Started 10th army at Spartan capital. 95 BC CIVIL WAR! New nation: Spartan Gerousia emerges Three full stacks of military units appear at Spartan capital. Only a small army and garrison present. Nearest army is near Syria. Sparta may lose its capital city, and possibly even Athenai. The damage this would do to the Spartan treasury is immense. Spartan fleets, filled with troops, begin their voyage towards the homeland...
  12. My GTX 580 was struggling just a little bit at the start of the level. Will probably have to upgrade as well for the full game.

  15. A 4-pin Molex and a 3-pin fan connector are two vastly different things. Just find a free Molex connector on your PSU and daisychain your fans on it. You can have quite a few fans on Molex, I think I had 3 on one at one point.

ECM Jammers can now open ATMs and block pagers. ECM Feedback buffed, which is good because it is currently worthless. Armor piercing rounds to buff rifle users. Trading currently in the works. Some other (yet to be announced) changes that will blow our minds apparently. I can't wait. Ghost will be even more amazing now.
  17. My PC was out of commission yesterday because I was draining the water cooling loop and doing some maintenance. That said... I'll be playing the hell out of this (at least until Sept. 17 where I have to split my time between this and GTA V). Hopefully some of us can get together and play online co-op. In both Rome and GTA.
  18. Yeah I know the game was heavily influenced by Heat. Just funny to continually find references. Such as the drill or the above skill. You can reset points in-game for a 50% refund in cash. So it's easier on your wallet to plan what you want to do beforehand.

Alright Heisters, time for BETA UPDATE 2 (YES it will reset you - this is needed as truck loads of anti cheats and balancing is coming in) First off - huge thanks to the community and the thousands of players contributing to these fixes. We have had the full team on this and it has been real usefull. Not only taking your feedback but also checking statistics and behaviors. What we have here is a real good update and much thanks to you. Oh... Electric Center is now Infamous for real We have done a lot of tweaks to the balancing of the game. Made it more sane on single and two player levels while bumping up the tempo on 3-4 player sessions. Players with Laptops and old ATI cards will be happy to know your mouselag is mainly due to overheating and mismatch between GPU and CPU loads - we have added a controller in the advanced video options for that. Also we have previously posted about setting your AMD catalyst drivers correctly as well. Also notable is that we added a Steam Gamehub short cut in the main menu and a direct link from us by the way of scrolling notes to all who are not on forums in the down left corner of the main menu. Thanks to you guys the game is now MORE awesome >) - rest assured though we keep working to perfect it, as always. If you cannot get your BETA to start then follow these instuctions (this works in 95% of the cases so try it even if you think you did right the first time): Try verifying the integrity of the game cache: 1a) Go open up your Steam client program and go to the "LIBRARY" section 1b) Right-click Payday in the list of games to the left - a drop-down menu will appear 1c) Click the menu option "Properties" at the very bottom of the drop-down menu - a dialog box will appear 1d) Click the "LOCAL FILES" tab in the upper part of the dialog box 1e) Click the third button that reads "VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAME CACHE..." Make sure you don't have an anti virus program that runs in sleep mode and has Payday on its "malicious software" list - it might be blocking the exe when it's trying to run. If none of that works, uninstall, redownload and reinstall the game. 3a) When you uninstall, please be sure to manually delete all the files that are left in your PAYDAY 2 Beta folder. Steam doesn't automatically delete these files and they can sometimes cause problems. These files are usually located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\PAYDAY 2 Beta If that doesn't work, get back to Almir at almir@overkillsoftware.com and we will look into it further. Please note that the 3rd step needs to be done properly! Steam can fool you that the game has installed by showing a shortcut on your desktop before the game has finished installing. If you start the game before the installation or download is complete the process will stop and the install will be corrupt! If the installation doesn't work, it has to do with Steam. There's nothing wrong with the game itself that makes it unable to start. The game can crash for numerous reasons - PhysX can be out of date, wrong GFX drivers, corrupt install - but the game itself is OK. We will continue investigating all crashes that are reported.
