As promised, a 'tips and tricks' section for Minecraft. Post things here that you find useful, hard to figure out, or fun facts. Starting off with: Gold tools and armor are acually for display, as they only have the same durability as wood tools Dungeons are places that contain a mob spawner and loot, they are also the only place to find mossy cobblestone Currently, sand and gravel are the only blocks to have physics applied to them Put sand into the furnace to turn it into glass Obsidian is made when water hits a lava spawner (still lava), required a diamond pick to mine, and is the only block not destroyed by explosives

Deffinately going to have to be private, its just too easy to ruin hours of work with a few well placed TNT blocks. Other than that, it sounds like a great idea. Together there can be some interesting things we could build.

You can try paypal if you dont have a credit card. You can link it direct to your bank acc, or the safer (less likely to blow all your money) method is to use green dot cards.

The online version that you are playing is classic, halo. Its just meant to give a feel as to how the game looks and feels, a sort of "demo". The alpha (what you get for paying, also what the real game is like) is the version that includes enemies, offline play, unlimited land generation, crafting, inventory + items, ect.

Unknown as to HOW to do it but as long as we all have the same version it should work. Also, i have seen i tutorial on how to host on a certain type of *cough* downloading site. Ill dig and see if i cant find it.

Already addicted, ive been playing it for the last 3 weeks and this game keeps its hold on me, even when cheating and using an editor to add items to my inventory. Also, small fact, the game is able to generate over 8x the earth's surface in land given enough hard drive space. This game truly shines even in 16 bit because you can to WHATEVER you want. You can make a motte and bailey fort to fend off enemies at night, or put the game on "peaceful" which removes enemies entirely, leaving you to go mining, explore caves, build your own cities even. if you guys would like, ill take a few screenshots of the castle i made, complete with crenellations and a basement. ***SPOILERS*** Tips for new players: Left click always equals destroy targeted block Right click always equals "use" the object targeted or held Tree trunk makes 4 planks 2 planks, one on top of another makes 4 sticks 4 square planks makes a workbench (3x3 craft instead of basic 2x2) 9 square of cobblestone with middle space empty makes furnace (fuel on bottom stuff to be melted on top) Higher quality tools last longer and faster/stronger (wood-stone-iron-diamond) Wood tools made from planks and sticks, needed to mine stone, coal Stone tools made from cobblestone and sticks, needed to mine iron Iron tools made from iron ingots (iron ore in furnace) and sticks, needed to mine Diamonds, gold, redstone Diamond tools make from diamonds and sticks, last longest and used to mine obsidian ---WHAT HEIGHT TO FIND ORES AND BLOCKS--- Height is measured in blocks from the base, and to the best of my experience 0 = void (holes in the floor that will kill you if you fall in) 1-4 = floor (unbreakable blocks) ~10 = lava level (lava will cover lots if not most of this height but usually not below this 1- ~20 = Diamond ore 1- ~35 = Gold, Redstone 1- ~64 = Iron ore (found very rarely a few blocks above sea level) 1- ~75 = Coal (found above ground in mountains 64 = sea level ~120 cloud level 128 = maximum height

I havnt been able to stop in to sparta's TS for awhile now, much less at a decent time, so if i dont manage to get in soon let me know how it turns out!

While im talking from limited knowledge, being that i neither script nor have played arma much, this seems like a great idea. By essentially making a dedicated "god", you allow that one person to dynamically alter maps, although at the expense of not being able to partake in the game. Perhaps having this person be both the Op-For and the players "intel officer", they can use their imagination and triggers to mix up the missions. Example, intel officer (god) informs players that the road to the objective has several reports of IEDs, suggesting that players disembark and use dirt paths through the forest to reach the objective, after placing unknown amounts of IEDs on the road. Expanding on EMT's ideas: 1. God being able to set generic or pre-made units and events 2. Make the player model for god be invisible, levitating, and unarmed, to observe player progress 3. Persons who play god, who are skilled enough, be able to modify terrain/buildings if possible 4. God being able to spawn player-friendly units and vehicles for specific scenarios (transports, minesweepers, ect.) While the god would have to be dedicated to making the game fun for the people playing, i think that everyone would have fun. Like I said, i dont script or play arma, but just throwing in my ideas. I'll post any more I might have.

Theres not much you can really do besides move on. This is obviously an alt, but ganking him wont achieve anything really unless you can find his main and that chars corp. Otherwise you just gank a worthless ganking alt. Btw, the safest way to fly without fear of gankage is in either a tanked drake for afking, or a stabbed inty for active flying.

Contact direwolf, he has a corp with enough stands to get jumpclones. Also if anyone has any PVP ships in any trade hubs, get them moved so you dont get camped in.

Funny, but ive had it happen to me once. The guy kept reviving me after almost every death even though we were on the defending team. Funny thing was that i was trying to die so i could swap classes. Edit: The first vid is just plain evil, but in my opinion warranted if the defenders as so good that its impossible to progress past the first base. Only for the first base though.

All in all its a good game, but i have it for 360. No glitches or problems that i could find. As for the computer, i honestly have no idea. Computer gaming is on the decline, most probably from this over-zelous protection software they love to put in *cough*punkbuster*cough*.

All in all, this is a good game. Its not run and gun 5 min rounds like COD, and you aren't spending hours on an objective like ARMA. Plus the game is pretty balanced from the beta bieng out. Sadly i have no clue as to the quality of the PC servers because i only have it on my xbox. If i run into a PC copy ill stop by and play if sparta gets a server of its own.
