  1. Who would have thought a small gaming community would still be around after 11 years!!!
  2. Server Cleanup. It turns out the Asteroid Base was the biggest structure in the server, so we eliminated most of the Hangar (kept the deck and all of one wall and part of the back wall), we also got rid of the weld wall, we will have to find another solution (possibly a simple mod where the one welder has the area effect of five). It might be an idea to scrap the lake base on earth. The second largest structure on the server was my merged Modular ship, so I pushed off to the Alien Planet and built a simple frame fixed to an asteroid to dock the modular ship to. I unmerged her into its three modules and docked it. I wont be landing on the planet but will be exploring its moon and the environs. I deleted a load of random moving bits and pieces . Hopefully this will give us more head room for Custard to build his mega base.
  3. I have started building my Modular ship at the Space Outpost. I built the first 2 modules and some of the support ships, there is one more module to go. But with 4 jump drives and a lot of ion thrusters I have used much of the resource stock, especially thruster components and superconductors. I have the assemblers restocking but I went out to gather some ore, gold, silver and platinum (2 million kgs of each) in Adders driller. After the restock I will build the last module.
  4. Forza 7 did not live up to hopes for a widely adopted racing game, probably due to its rocky PC start. However for those of you who are interested the September forzathon challenges offer a load of cash and car rewards. One of the challenges (for 150,000 credits) is to participate in 5 multiplayer races, if anyone is interested catch me on TS and we can sort out this challenge.
  5. My modular ship Blue is a Hydrogen thruster planetary lander it carries a smaller atmospheric driller and a small atmospheric welder. Red is the industrial part, with 2 10x Refineries 2 10x blast furnaces and 2 assemblers plus 4 jump drives White is for additional thrust and cargo and also has 4 jump drives At the rear is a 5x5 large block asteroid driller. White and red carry a welding ship each, plus white has a shuttle. Each has a med bay plus 6 Cryo chambers.
  6. I restarted the server and its still missing, so I am rebuilding it in creative. Sorry if this offends but a lot of resources have disappeared!
  7. Bad News!!! The asteroid base has disappeared, The asteroid is there, as are all the ships, but the entire base is not.
  8. I keep at least 10 canvas per chute, each only uses 1 unless you deploy too early and have to redeploy. So if it has 4 chutes, 4 canvas mandatory, 8 precautionary, 40 no worries. Always check canvas before planetary departure, just in case.
  9. The move to the new forum hosting will happen on September 1st (barring unforeseen problems). Pringle and Hunter are working to make the transition as seamless as possible, but the forum look and accessibility may be different. This change is being implemented to cut our operating cost to a more reasonable level. We are not asking for (and dont need) any money, but we do need to be more prudent. If you have any questions or need help connecting, feel free to contact an admin on TS. We want to thank Hunter and Pringle for their hard work.
  10. I think it uses liquid hydrogen, which in turn comes from ice therefore you can generate power from ice. Also I believe that liquid hydrogen is compressed.

When we chatted last nignt/this morning, I forgot to tell you that Adders mod for the refinery mulitplies the speed by 5 or 10 but at a cost of 5 to 10 times the resources and power. the server mulitplier does not as far as I know. Adders idea was that we tend to build a lot of refineries but the number may slow the server. I should have explained this last night but my brain may not have been at peak performance at 4 am. This is just to share Adders thinking, I know your ok with the mods. Adder something has changed with the the server GUI. Before, I could type the number (or copy and paste it) straight into the Mod field. Now there is a subscribed mods field and an add mods field as well. but I cannot type into any of them. Can you look at it locally and see how to overcome this without saving in a normal game instance and copying to the dedicated server.
  17. The server needs updating, at some point. This may include the multiplayer fix. No hurry though.

That miner is a welding ship that i adapted to mining by adding some conveyor and swapping the weld heads for drills, you should build your ideal miner and we can convert the ship back to a welder (very handy for building). I dont like to waste resources so this way I can try to help but not duplicate your work. Its weakness is when you rotate left or right it rolls at the same time, eventually when its laden it can end up on its side unable to right itself. So as I rotate I have to correct the roll all the time. She also does not like flying vertically (on its tail) when fully laden, thats why I try to have an shallow approach tunnel. But it should have no problem flying out of a vertical shaft flat to the horizon. As I drill to the deposit I use the right mouse button, this makes a bigger hole and does not put anything in cargo, once I am at the vein I use the left mouse to collect, when it gets heavy I go back to the surface, switch the connector to throw out and put the stone in the connector. I had trouble when I ejected while mining as the boulders push the ship around, yours is better as it ejects through the bits which probably destroys them. I have a ship for getting into space so I will build that. We will probably add some more mods if thats ok.
  19. It's an Adder design. The idea of the odd rover is to help with mining. Like a mobile docking station. A flying mining vessel uses power to stay aloft. With the odd rover, your miner can dock with it unload its cargo, and recharge and carry on. Obviously we need to be on together for that to work, unless the miner can be driven out docked. However it may be a solution to a problem that doesn't exist. I see the Rotors are still a problem so we will need another solution. I am afraid to use the miner until I see you use it to see its operating envelope. Once I see you use it I will help with mining. One of the Rovers is equipped with adders modded ore detector (with 150m range), I have mapped some ores out but some of it is deep (100m) The refinery is also one of adders mods, with 5x speed. I figured out why the resources are so meagre, this is because we used easy start before but did not use the base, the resources are much richer on planet in easy start. This means that our priority should be to get into space, where the asteroids do have richer deposits. I would like to add fusion reactor mod so that we can use the ice to power the base and recharge batteries.
