An interesting footnote 3dmark06 (Vista) 13009 3dmark06 (XP( 13708) go figure!

I watched all the first series in about 3 days, sadly my test result says I'm a girl

OK the graphics card was shot, it has been replaced. I installed it and a hard drive adapter for a cdrom bay. I then put a fourth 300gb hard drive (with XP pro on it). I can now run xp or vista (by enabling or disabling the appropriate drive. I ran 3dmark06 and got 13009, I am very happy. So endeth thsi tale.

In the spirit of goodwill I would recomend that we focus on the positives and move beyond the emotions of recent days/weeks. I repeat, BDA is welcome to play on our server and chat on our TS, doing so is not disloyal, we all have friends on both sides and my friends are welcome no matter what tags they wear. I am sure, if we have TS troubles we will be made as welcome on your TS as we made you on ours. Once we get established, you will learn the benefits of having two different groups that have a kindred spirit, particularly when we start scrimming, dogfighting and racing with each other(Which I know will happen in the not to distant future). I am sure that all this breast beating and sabre rattling will calm down soon and the doors will be open on both side sides to all members, no matter what has been said in the heat of the moment and without all the facts to hand. With Scorp at the helm I know we wont have to wait long. Phil

Hi Wax I would ask everyone to show restraint (BDA and Sparta) now, we are just a couple of gaming groups don't lose sight of that before engaging in a war of words. Firstly I am not in charge (as you imply), I am just one of the group. We discuss matters openly here. Secondly I have no web page experience, so I would not have been able to help you. Furthermore I could hardly ask viiiper (as a friend) to help you since he had been summarily banned from everything and subsequently told he could not come back (more than once). Furthermore we are trying to build everything from scratch there is simply no time to help you sort out BDA issues. You are welcome to post here, I will not hide your post, nor will I ban you. Viiipers actions have granted you the result you sought, which was to correct the web page. Apart from a few most of your guys took the action as a humourous one, we welcomed your guys onto our TS all wearing BDA tags when BDA had TS problems (I hope we will not be accused of creating that problem as well). You have thrown many accusations around and you speak of honour, I could make some damaging accusations of my own but I do not want to hurt you or BDA. I was a root admin with full forum access at BDA for 2 weeks after leaving. I asked twice for this access to be removed (which happened eventually). If we wanted to create mischief at the BDA I could have done it then, in actuality I just kept my mouth shut and just disappeared from BDA. At the end of the day, if you want to talk calmly and without rancour, you are welcome to come and chat here wearing BDA TAGS, as is everyone else from BDA. Lastly and for the benefit of everyone from BDA, we are not actively recruiting from your group, we never were. We do not want to be a giant group of strangers, we want to grow slowly and organically. There are some great people at BDA, whom I count among my friends (though I have never met them). They would be friends no matter what clan they were with. How things progress is up to you, I wouldnt be so hasty in severing ties with this group but thats your choice.

haha Change of plan. I took the 8800 ultra back to the shop. to b e investigated. I bought an 8600 gts silent now all is well (so far) but 3dmark is only 4700 (most of that comes from the quad core) I am cursed, woe is me and other up pompei quotes, lol

All is not well. The mega GPU would not work with vista. in GRAW2. I tried many recommended solutions all of which failed. So I bought another hard drive and installed windows XP on it, loaded that up with everything and had a similar probelm in GRAW 2. So now I think the GPU is not working. I will take it to France at the WE and try it on the PC there, If it works there I will bring back my other 8800 GTX and try it on this PC. Hopefully I will be able to isolate the problem to one component. All very irritating, but I am not computerless LOL, my trusty XPS laptop is doing sterling duty. I'll bore you all some more when I make some progress.

Ok guys the Fatality is built. Actually it was already built yesterday, but I could not get it going because one of the power cables was for France not Switzerland, so I went out this morning to buy one. The build was straightforward. The hard drives are held in place by rubber rollers, based on Ulrichs' recomendation I changed the cpu cooler to the asus silent knight, The PSU was abit of a problem to fit but I got there in the end I have just installed vista and will now download all the updates. Its actually a smaller case than my Tt mozart, its a mid tower, I like Zalman because they care about noise and temp.
