  1. I have one pair of Tru-Spec light brown TDU bottoms I like to wear when out in the great outdoors camping or shooting; does that mean I have an ass kicking coming to me? I have never claimed to be "Spec-Op's" or anything else military for that matter, just like the pants because they are comfortable and all the pockets are good for holding AR mags and GI Joe's! Well now that I think about it, the times I'm wearing them I'm armed so I guess that slightly lessens the chances of an ass kicking right? All very good points and the whole not standing for or singing the National Anthem really pisses me off as well.
  2. Oh no an AR thread, I have the black rifle syndrome myself along with an ammo collection fetish. I have always been into shooting but mostly handguns however once I fired an AR that was it. Bought a plain-jane 16" Bushmaster and watched it morph into one sweet rifle. Gota throw the Glock in the mix Just picked up one of Leupold's new AR series scopes, 3-9 x 40mm with a BDC dial for my primary load. I am waiting on a couple Larue quick release mounts for it and my red dot, should be here this week along with a tac light.
  3. Zeno this new add on feature might be of use to you in keeping it clean.
  4. Wow this shows how long it's been since my last visit, I was wondering if the *BDA* can be removed from the end of my name and replaced with this: _EBDA Thanks, AZ
  5. Yep I installed it on all my machines and love it, I also straightened out the Fasterfox add-on to work with 3.0.1. If anyone wants to know how to do it let me know and I'll go into detail.
  6. Hey guys, it's been a while. Hali you must have got into a new rig with that nice score. Here is my HD3870 with a mild overclock. ;) I had it stable with no artifacts past 950MHz but the stock cooler is like a jet at 100%, I need to add it to my water cooling loop, not bad for a $200 card.
  7. 42" is a great size, I bought a 42" flat panel LCD about 6 months ago and absolutely love it. The picture even on 1080i from my cable provider is outstanding, it almost makes me want to buy a Blue Ray player to see how good it can really be. Nice choice.
  8. If you are going to run a quad core or a 1333 fsb cpu you might want to consider an Intel P35 or X38 motherboard, they were designed for them from the get go by the people that know Intel cpu's best, Intel. Quad cores and 1333 fsb cpu's are an afterthought on the Nvidia 680 chipsets. If you are going to run an Intel Core 2 Duo like a E6600 (1066 fsb) the Nvidia 680 chipsets are fine as they were designed to run these from the get go, as is any Intel chipset from 975x on. However if you are looking to run SLI your choice is pretty much limited to Nvidia as their drivers don't play nice with Intel chipsets. If you are looking to run a single video card it doesn't matter which way you go. Some example set-ups: For about $500 shipped you get a solid dual core performer. E6600 Core 2 Duo dual core, 1066 fsb @ 2.40GHz $230 USD Abit IP35-Pro (P35 chipset) $185 USD 2gig G-Skill DDR2 800 $75 USD http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16819115003 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16813127030 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16820231114 For about $615 USD shipped you get a dual core screamer. E6850 Core 2 Duo dual core, 1333 fsb @ 3.0GHz $290 USD Abit IP35-Pro (P35 chipset) $185 USD 2gig G-Skill DDR2 800 (micron D9 chips for higher over clocks) $130 USD (You can substitute the E6850 for a Q6600 quad core for about the same price, it is supported on this main board) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16819115028 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16813127030 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16820231065 I am a long time Abit user and have yet to have a bad board, I think you will be very happy if you go with this board. Abit also has a Intel X38 chip set board out for around $230 USD but it is brand spankn' new and hard to find. I have also heard good things about the new Asus Maximums Formula SE board that uses Intel's latest X38 chipset but that bad boy will set you back $300 USD, a little over kill for a game server but a hell of an over clocker. Hope this is of help, AZ
  9. ATI selling themselves to AMD was the death of them IMO. The acquisition happened near the end of development of the R600 based cards so I believe ATI employee's were probably to busy worrying about if they would have a job than properly finishing the product. The insane power requirements of the R600 gpu screams inefficiency, I think with refinements the R600 has the potential to beat the standard 8800GTX, however it will probably never happen. IMO the X1950XTX 512 cards are the last great thing they did. ;)
  10. Update:OK I tweaked my video driver to let the application decide for the settings and I picked up about 8-10 fps in the water and smoke on the single player. Funny thing is I have the AA at 4 and the AF maxed in game now; I guess it is a driver issue. The graphics still look very good. I played the multi player about two hours and I must say it is pretty darn good. It is a little run and gun but it is a brand new game and no one is working together. The interesting thing is it appears to have VOIP in game however I have it tuned off so I couldn't tell you how it works.I have only played team deathmatch but there appears to be several other game modes that I am unsure of how they work. The game has punkbuster and an instant kill cam replay so you can see how and where the sucker was that killed you and random re-spawns.Also oddly enough the fps on the multi player are pretty darn good with an average of 80 for me with high settings, Activision really seems to have a good engine for this game.I may have a server set-up under the name: az's EBDA server and if it is passworded it will be: bda (lowercase)My in game name appears like this: az_sniper_EBDATip:Just use your name to create a profile, when you enter the multi player you can click on your name and change it to whatever you like.Rock out my itches!Oh BTW I always buy from GameStop, they are awesome.
  11. Yep these have been around for a few years, as soon as my netgear fails (dam thing has been running great for 4 years) I think I will pick the 4300 up, they run around 100 USD at Fry's Electronics.
  12. Picked mine up today and got to play about 3-4 missions so far. It is indeed fast paced but it has done a great job at keeping my attention. The game play forces you to advance on the maps as the enemy is relentless if you sit still. We'll have to wait and see what the multi player aspect brings. The graphics are awesome but the water and fire in some spots take the average 80-100 fps down to 20 something with my settings on med-high. I think I have my video driver is set to override most game settings so I may need to back it off a bit in there, they are set to the max at 4AA, 16AF and textures on high. Here are a few screenies I took.
  13. Nice bikes, what are they like 250cc's or something? ;)
