The best bang for the buck is ATI Buy a 4870 or 4890. The 4890 will outperform a 275GTX and hang on to the 285GTX but for less money. My graphicscard broke 3 weeks ago so i too need a new one and i am on a budget but my system supports SLI so i will go for a 275GTX and then save some money over a couple of month and then buy a second one. That will put me infront of a 285GTX for the same amount of money. If your mobo supports SLI then you could buy a 260GTX and then a second when u have the money. That will give u really perfomance boost and u will notice that it´s your CPU that is the bottleneck now.

Okay i am gonna be blund T1 here so don´t take it for more than what it is. If u wanna play the latest games u simply need to make bigger upgrades. It´s not a solution being 2 steps behind wich u will be with that upgrade. In a year u will have to upgrade again and untill then u will still be struggeling. I know a lot of people don´t have the money and neither do i but if u wanna have the game running with desent resolutions and ok fps u just need higher specs. Sorry! What i did was buying more ram and a new cpu and be good for the next 2-3 month untill i have the money to upgrade my gpu. It just so happent that my 8800GTX broke 14 days ago and now i am stuck with only the wifes pc for at least a couple of month or so untill i have some more money. I am not just going out to buy a new cheap gpu to get the machine running and then again have to upgrade just to be able to run the games at a desent resolution. What i am saying is think this through. The last system upgrade i made lastet over 2 years and would still be good for a year or so. In the end i think u will roughly be paying the same amount of money its just more fun the other way. Cheers T1 and hope u make the right dessision.

The minimum spec on the cpu is is pretty high. Wonder what the recomendet spec will be. 2,8 Quad core

The Q6600 is outdated forget about that. The Q8200 is cheap but u will not gain anything compared to a E6600. U need to step it up further to benefit that is why i suggest the Q9550 or higher.

Yes and no! I just got a Core2 quad 9550 for 160£ Fsb 1333, 12mb cache and 2,9 ghz oc with no issue to 3,4ghz That is what you should get

Dunno if it will actually work in real life but recomondations and not only from Nvidia say that they need to be same GPU and same ram but not nessesarelly same vendor. I personally wouldn´t do it

Just installed a Intel core 2 quad 9550 cpu and oc´ed it to 3,4 without any issues. Vcore still at spec too. Stepping is E0 so that maybe the reason for the easy oc. score in 3Dmark 06 with my 8800GTX card 4gb DDR3 1333 ram is : 14460. Not to bad and enough for OFP Dr
