  1. Once again Friday is nearly here, and that means TACDOM. Comms will be used in a more controlled manner. No needless chit chat, and at all times the Squad Leader has priority in channel. This applies equally to TS and to In Game Chat Text. Gameplay. Everything will be run off the Squad Leaders, their decision on ALL squad matters is final. If you don't agree with it, then you can speak about it later, not while the game is going on. Revives will be only done by Medics. If your medic(s) are down any surviving team member(s) can revive the medic, but only the medic. There will be no horseplay or fooling around at the base or between AO's, your patience in this matter is appreciated, and will hopefully be rewarded with an enhanced style of gameplay for ALL players. 2IC will handle all team assignments, logistics, co-ordination of support, "Jippers" (Join in Progress Players) and most crucially Discipline. If a player is not adhering to the standards which we expect, then they WILL be taken aside and spoken to by the 2IC regarding their actions, and returned to the game. For the second infringment of standards, then the players will be kicked from the game and spoken to in TS. There will be NO EXCEPTIONS to this. If necessary the 2IC and Mission Commander will *briefly* consult prior to the kick. The player will NOT be allowed back in the game channels. It's been pointed out before, but we make no apologies for stating it again. If a player wants to fool around they have six days and a number of servers they can do it on. One night a week those who wish can get together and play in a more Tactical manner. If you do not wish to adhere to the rules, the US Domination and AirDom Servers are available.
  2. He's already busy with a mountain of potatoes.
  3. Smoke and a Full Auto M4 are a medics best friend Dai
  4. I was mentally knackered last night. Firstly big thanks to Luggage, then AJSarge, MH6, and EMT for undertaking pilot duties without any "SYA" syndrome, for Durka, Dai, Zeno for SL duties, and again MH6 for leading Bravo on the second town. Kal, Halli, and Cy for helping out with Jippers. (I'll stop now before anyone thinks I'm accepting an Oscar) I was beginning to think that the first town was never going to fall, and we'd be stuck there for the whole night. I think it took two hours (and that's not including the start up at base) so I was glad to see it fall eventually. Second one went a bit better, but it was difficult juggling Squads, Pilots, Mortars, and new players without my trusty 2IC. Hope everyone had a fairly enjoyable time, and that I didn't piss of too many people. T
  5. Sure. First we need to find someone who is happy to sit about away from the AO, and do nothing but wait for someone to ask the Mission Commander for artillery support. Then we need to find Squad leaders who want, and need to use artillery, then squad members who are happy to let someone else blow everything up and sit back and watch the rounds come in, that is of course if the other team aren't already using the arty, and the mission commander wants to use it. Oh, and we also need someone else to babysit the Arty operator because once they set up they are prime pickings for enemy anti air and roving enemy AI. Arty was available, and was used last night, however at the moment it sits with the 2IC, or MC, so in addition to co-ordinating the pilots, dealing with Jippers, dealing with comms, and trying to work out some kind of strategy for the AO, it was not available on a whim. Like everything else it has to be used in a co-ordinated manner. Using Artillery in TACDOM is not just about plastering the AO with HE rounds.
  6. And therein lies the problem Tholozor. There is generally enough AT in an AO to deal with double the amount of armour in the game, so there is very little that Air Assets can do that a group of ground pounders, even a disorganised one, can only deal with. In general I like the idea of CAS, and I tried to use it last night on TACDOM, but it is difficult to co ordinate. By the time I got the CAS ready, the teams had neutralised the threat and had moved on. The other issue is survivability, too many people take CAS into the AO and then try and clear the whole AO of armour. Some manage this, however in my experience, the CAS (particularly the cobra) didn't survive very long due to concentrated AA fire. I still don't understand why people want to use Air assets in the Domination server, when the AirDom server is available. I guess you pilot types have a need to show off ;)
  7. The -winxp parameter is the compatibility mode. I would take out the -cpucount=2 switch as well. Get the Alpinestars ArmA2 launches, as you can change all the switches easily.
  8. I think if you want to talk to your squad and the mission commander, you would bed your squad channel to the same whisper key. The reason we haven't done it this was is so people can be moved out me one squad channel to another and not have to set anything up, or change anything. People are free to do this if the want as long as it does not interfere with other channels.
  9. Sometimes it's an issue with the game, and not your PC, try running a vanilla mission, or fly about in the Editor.
  10. I'll name that tune in one. Simon and Gartfunkel, Sound of Silence
  11. Quick point for anyone who is joining Teamspeak and is thinking about being a Squad Leader. In Teamspeak you need to Set up Whispers to Mission Commander and Team Assignment Room - 2IC We will NOT be using Channel Commander

  13. I will, and have already temporarily revoked one persons permissions for "pissing" about with choppers, and will do so again if I see conduct which I feel is inappropriate for the server. Please remember that Air assets are there to support the players on the ground, not for as Stang would say "shining your a**".
  14. Apologies for not getting on tonight. I had stuff to do at home.
  15. Fear not Halli! There will be more opportunities to be take part. Last night was a good run through of a couple of things basically putting into practice some of the movement drills and covering arcs etc. Nothing too complex and stuff which you only become comfortable doing the more you do it.
  16. Dai, and Myself are on the Tactical Server just now, and in the TacDom TS channels.
  17. You are on "The" list SAR_Medic. It's persistent even through a server restart. You'll have flying/driving privileges unless you do something silly.
  18. Connor, Doppel, can you PM me your UIDs Thanks T
  19. This will be revived on Tuesday (1 Dec) and Wednesday (2 Dec). This will not be as in depth as Durka's excellent tutorial which he ran before. It will be a general run through of basic movement. The diagrams Durka posted will give you and idea what we will be doing. This is to develop the play on TACDOM nights primarily. Forgot to add 2100 GMT for me, Dai might make it earlier.
  20. Monday 2100-0000 Tuesday not really available. Wednesday 2100-2300 Thursday 2100-0000 Friday 2030-0100 Saturday 2100-0000 Sunday depends on many circumstances when i'm available. All times GMT or British summer Time when applicable.
