I'd be quite happy for the plane to get blown up if it loitered in the AO more than the time it takes to drop the bombs/strafe. A very short exposure time would mean good team work between the infantry and the pilots would be essential. Edit - I just thought of something, could the FAC have an action to give the green light to dropping bombs? Say there was a toggle option which permitted pilots to drop bombs in the AO, if the FAC had'nt cleared the bombs then the pilots would be unable to drop anything. Just a thought.

I gave up with the Wii Remote. You need a bluetooth dongle, and for some reason when I started Teamspeak when bluetooth was on, it crashed my PC. You also need bluesolei, which I have, on my other machine. I've just tested V1 of my set up, and it works "fairly" well with 1 LED. I'll need to get some more LED's and try the 3 point model, but I'll try a new "design" for that. Once I'm happy with it, I'll try the VX1000 Web Cam, and use the IR leds. My soldering skills are more than a little out of date.

Maybe if the "Pilots" had listened to the ground troops, rather than doing their own thing, we wouldn't need a separate Air Dom Server. However this adds no positive points to the debate .. I only did the one point model to test the LED's I got, I'm working on a 3 point model which velcros to my head set and the bike light. Need to get a web cam, as Im having problems with the wii remote and Teamspeak for some reason. BTW when I said AJSarge, I meant AlarmedBread re the LEDS in my earlier post.

In fact its the same one that AJSarge refers to in his post Osram IR LED - SFH485P.

The Support Forums at freetrack.net are goldmine of info. You can even get it working with a Wii remote control. I'm currently trying to get one working. I can have got it working with 1 point, left right up down, etc. I used an old bicycle light, and desoldered the leds, soldered some wire to the contact points, and wired up some IR LEDS. The OSRAM one quoted on the free track site is the one to get as they have the widest field of view.

+1 Custard. What people need to remember is we try to provide a consistent level of game play for players. Just because you want to play in a particular manner, does not mean that others do. Some people may want to play in a less formal manner, others may have spent the previous 30 minutes putting on their BDU's before turning on their PC. We try to cater for all tastes. However you can please some of the people etc etc

I couldn't get it to work with the current server. I did setup my own server to have a play around with. Some of it looks okay.
