    Plasma has a better overall quality but the pixels die one at the time and there is no known way to bring them back...yet.

     

    The best bargain is the..............Buy both set them up and what ever u fancy u keep and the other u sell for 300£

    250£ is extreeeemly cheap if i wasn´t a cop i would have doen the same ;)

    @thomsen, it's a legit deal beleive it or not. One of the sites of the company I work for deals with ex display and brokered electrical good. :D

     

    Offers as good as this don't come along often though,

    OK Research done, i'm gonna go for the plasma, it generally gets better reviews (just), and, for £250 if it's rubbish, it can go in the bedroom.

    Hey guys,

     

    I've been given an opportunity to purchase either a 42" LCD monitor (Prod# 42LC2D), or a 42" Plasma (Prod# 42PC1D ).

     

    Both are manufactured by LG, about 18mths old, unused customer returns.

     

    They're up for £250 (GBP), but I need to let them know tomorrow which one I want, so obviously I don't have much time to decide.

     

    Now, i think these are a bargain so i'm deffinately going to buy one, however, i'm not a TV expert and don't really know what the differences are or best one to get.

     

    Can anyone give a bit of advice please?

    One of these shows that I liked very much is "Space: Above and Beyond". I think I will watch those again soon.

     

     

    Oh wow! i used to watch this, but have never ever been able to remember the name of the show. I always get it mixed up with starship troopers (don't ask how) and I don't know anyone else who used to watch it so never found out.

    Yeah I felt it, I was just dozing off and the bed and matress started shaking (which was odd as i'm single :blink: ).

     

    Anyhow, in my dozy state I thought it was the dog walking on the bed, that is until I woke up and remembered that I don't have a dog! :wacko:

     

    I then just put it down to my neighbour overloading their washing machine and it shaking the block of flats I live in. lol.

     

    Like I said I was dozing so my deductive powers of reasoning were not at their best!

    Sound Card problem

    Well can't be any worse then the game crashing with a kernal fault and now the game won't even restart at all! So its uninstall and reinstall the game to fix it. Reinstalled nvidia drivers still no fix.Im getting weard kernal fault codes come up like- @#$%$&%&$$*. Makes me wonder. If a nvidia splice got in there somhow

     

    Hey Athlon, that's sounds pretty bad, and this occoured after the storm and power outage last night didn't it?

     

    If you start a new post about your graphics problem, maybe we can all bash our heads together to get a result. :) (or alternatively, just reinstall the game! remember to save your profile first though :o )

    Sound Card problem

    Just to confirm, you're hearing some sounds but not all? for example music plays, but other things don't? That sounds like either a driver issue, or, the software settings for the card have changed.

     

    If you're using the creative software for this card, there's an entertainment setting and a different gaming setting maybe something has changed here. I know that if the settings for the output are changed from Headphones, which i use, to 5.1 surround, i lose some sounds where it tries to put them through the other speakers which aren't connected.

     

    If it's not this then i would consider re-installing the drivers for the xfi card.

     

    It would be advisable to uninstall them first via control panel, reboot the pc and then re-install.

     

    That's where i would start.

     

    Regarding the g15 volume not working that can be looked at once you get the sound outputs working.

     

    I hope this makes sense.

    Changing ISP

    sorry to hear that.

     

    another thing with adsl is that fact of to get best performance you want the router/modem or modem plugged into the primary box. It does make a difference i had to get my mate from warminster who works for bt to come up here to change my boxes around. :D

     

     

    Don't get me started on this :angry: MK has 'analogue' cable with 19 tv channels. can't get digital cable via Virgin, so you have to get sky, however, the block i live on isn't allowed individual mini dishes, so i'm in the process of trying to get ia communual one sorted :angry: bit off topic sorry, but, i could get on a whole new kind of soapbox whilst ranting about this!

     

    Anyhow, back OT. I had an issue with BT and their home Hub for about 3/4 weeks last year of intermittent service outages. One of the times i was on the phone to them, they advised removing the front cover of the primary socket and connecting the filter directly to the test socket. I dunno what difference it makes, but they didn't tell me to put it back together so that's where it's still connected.

     

    By the way Custard, regarding the BT homehub, every couple of weeks, mine seems to need a power down to reset it. After it's powered back up again, it takes about 2 hours to settle down and provide a stable connection again. Thought it best to let you know.

     

    This can be a pain if it's my peak usage time, but generally I have a stable connection with BT.

    I agree if you can get it, Cable, Virgin media (ex NTL/ Telewest) are offering up

    to 20Mbit and in may/ June 08 all XL packages will be pushed to 40Mbit.

     

     

    Jeez, Where I live, I can't get cable (long story about Milton Keynes and it's 'modern' telecoms system), and i'm so far from the telephone exchange i'm lucky to get 512Kb!

    I'm still up for flying with you each night I'm online. I enjoy it and it doesn't matter for me how good anyone is. By the way, you know how many missions I have downloaded (and Durka Durka sent me separately).

    Don't give up, as I'll be around.

     

     

    Oh don't worry, i'm not gonna give up. Once i find your new name on Hyperlobby, i'll be around.

    Hey Zeno,

     

    Being a young pup :blink: , I remember when the Bank became independent of government, but didn't understand at the time the reasons why. It's not something i've ever thought about either, but i'm sure it'll come up in a pup quiz at sometime, so thanks for that.

    Thanks to Kamina, there's more than 1 player in Legion of Sarta again for IL2.Hope that the rest of you, the "oldskool guys" at least, will dig up their joystick and game (Zathrus, shame on you ... install the game, brother !) and fly !Kamina is doing good and will be able to shoot down some bogeys very soon.Thanks for joining, Kamina.     I Had a really good time tonight on IL2, cheers for all your hints and tips Inimigo, especially with the x45 profile as i had pretty much zero clue with it.As for shooting down bogeys, as soon as i can get them not to move around the sky or evade, then it'll be great :rolleyes: Cheers againK I'll
