  1. ArmA is more and more, becomming the only game I'm playing, so this thread makes sense! To start with, every other weekend I'm away in Liverpool, as this is where my fiancee lives and until we get ourselves sorted house-wise, it's unlikely to change. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday - available from 20:00 GMT till 22:30 Wednesdays - I have my girls over so not really available. Friday & Saturday - Available from 20:00 until I fall asleep / server empties / broadband dies Sunday - available from 20:00 till 22.30 The Friday, Saturday, Sunday start times can be flexible dependant on what is happening on the day but 20:00 is a good safe start time.
  2. Mmmmmm . . . Beer! And I like to believe the English are here because we bring culture Welcome to the madhouse.
  3. Works for me, looking foward to tomorrows excursion.
  4. Good games tonight, really enjoyed them, thought there was some good teamwork going on. The Gorka counter attack was handled really well. Cy, thnks for your support on the Berizino tower and big thanks to some quality helo support from Rooster. Really looking forward to TacDom, tomorrow.
  5. Couldn't get into airdom myself tonight was gonna practice hiting the ground! Haven't tried Sahrani yet but got right into the normal server.
  6. At least you're listening to something! Music's not allowed here , shame it would make for a slightly better environment. . . . . .
  7. Like the sound of this, would love to give this a go at some point.
  8. Interesting read if only for the fact that those that conducted the evaluation almost certainly have no real concept of gaming and the typical gamer. BBC Report on Gamers & their war crimes Good to see our tax £/$/? being put to beneficial use........
  9. Doesn't sound it though. He's been in BPR for christ knows how long and I only realised he was Welsh about a month ago, when I saw his ArmA face!!
  10. Had exactly this issue, also going from 32bit XP to 64bit Win7 Home Premium. I spent ages googling without getting an anwer. In the end I just disabled the screen sleep mode and I haven't lost a connection since.
  11. The copy I saw was GOTY, with all of the DLC. It was £29.99 in the shop but it's only £20 on Amazon, so that's where I'll tell the girls to get it from. Should while away a few hours in between stints on the battlefield!
  12. It pains me to know he's a Brit. If that's not an advert for natural selection I don't know what is! Some f*@ked up shit going on there!!!!!
  13. Thanks for the replies, enough for me to take the plunge, or at least put it on my Chrimbo list As for the youngest, she's 12 and although she has played COD2 and COD MW (which she finished before me) her staples are the likes of Mario Cart, My Sims Racing, The Sims etc. In fact the visit to the games store saw us exchanging some Sims2 stuff for "Mario & Sonic at the Olympics", which was an absolute hoot!
  14. Took my youngest into town over the weekend, to exchange some of her DS & Wii games. Whilst we were in the store she commented on MW2 and whether that was a possible Chrimbo gift for me. I explained how the "bad people" at IW had made a mess of the game and it wasn't something I wanted, which then took us onto the topic of what I did want for Chrimbo. To be honest I had no idea but then saw Fallout 3 - GOTY edition and had a quick read of the jacket. Looked pretty interesting and definately capable of providing some SP action in those bored moments when no-ones in the Arma servers. Is it a game to get? Previous SP adventures have beem Doom3, Halflife 2, which I've enjoyed immensely. Your thoughts would be appreciated. Apparently if it's not this I'm going to get "Where's my Cow" by Terry Pratchett!
  15. Hey, us Brits know the meaning of good manners. If you're going to send someone to their death, you should always do it with honour!
  16. Enjoyed tonight, best fun I've had in a while. Although still suffering with my broadband, for most of the early evening I was struggling to get above 1mb dl, so suffered some lag. Should be fixed within the week so hopefully better experiences ahead. Really enjoyed the Littlebirds, some excellent flying tonight, nice job from MH6. Looking forward to the next one.
  17. Hey, I've still got one recurve bow ...... don't wave too high!
  18. I assumed that was meant as in "shield your children from the vaccine"!
  19. Quick Question: Can MW2 support good, old fashioned LAN parties, where one PC hosts and everyone else connects via a hub. Or is the only way to "LAN" still via IWNet and a private match, meaning everyone at the LAN would need to get net access? Reason I'm asking is that some of my GF's work colleagues are planning a LAN for March next year and they are expecting MW2 to be a big part. Sadly, I believe they are a mix of casual & console gamers and have no idea of all the BS with MW2. I've already told them that without dedi server support I'm not getting MW2 but will probably show up tp play other stuff.
  20. Doesn't help but you are now the third person I know that ordered an Acer laptop, supposidly spec'd with a Blueray drive only for it to turn up without / not be available. In both previous instances it proved impossible for them to get a replacement laptop, with Blueray for anywhere close to the original price. Acer had an industry rep not too long back of having the cheapest Bluray lappies on the market, hence my two friends going for them: Neither got them without shelling out close to £150 more than the original price quoted.
  21. Based on any of these response or the stuff I've read, I'll be doing it for her. Thanks for the info guys
  22. She's on Vista, not sure which version as the pc was taken into her hubby's works and his IT dept "upgraded" everything - so it's a dodgy copy of the OS that she doesn't have a disc for. They've parted company, he's moved out of the house and she can't ask him / he wont tell her the PW. As daft as it sounds she's not after anything sensitive on the PC she just wants to update flash player so she can get back to playing that dumb-ass farm game on Facebook. But when she trys to update it tells her she does not have admin rights. So she needs to change his PW to give herself admin rights then job done. I suggested a format as the worst case but as she doesn't have the OS disc I can't even do that.
