  1. Messed around with my gfx settings and from what I can see in the servers I've visited it hasn't made much difference. On the PhysX side, I don't see a setting for this in the graphics options. Which I am assuming is due to me not having a seperate PhysX card or a compatible Nvidia 8xxx, as I'm now running a Radeon. If I'm missing the obvious please point me in the right direction. On the dead thing, maybe I'm not explaining it right. I've frequently seen other players remain verticle when killed but what is happening now is my character stays standing when dead, even if I was kneeling or prone when killed. I don't get the usual prone animation where you're calling out for help ( I can hear the calls as normal though). And when someone came to revive me, instead of seeing them arrive and working to revive me I see nothing and am then alive again. Also, when dead I don't seem to be able to jump to other players views all the time. I'd say 90% of the time it wont take me out of my own dead view. Maybe it's coincidental but I've never experienced any of this prior to 1.05??? And Custard, glad it's not just me...... at least this pig flu hasn't sent me La-La!
  2. Last night was my first night on since pre-chrimbo and the first time with the 1.05 patch. Both then and tonight I only played on the Big Dom Opfor server but I'm experiencing quite a few issues. Listed as follows: 1. When killed my character body stays upright and there is no animation when / if revived. 2. Routinely hearing vehicle noises, armour and aircraft in close vicinity when nothing appears to be there. If something is there then it's not visible to me - maybe related to point 4, below? 3. No squad names / markers showing. I repeatidly set and reset this in the settings options but to no effect. 4. Not seeing other characters when they are shown on the map and are literally next to me. This only happened tonight and I could hear over TS conversations relevant to guys positions both active and down and this correlated to the player map markers I could see. At one point I was on top of a marker for a downed player (intending to revive) and couldn't see him. Then over TS I heard someone else saying they were going to revive, then watched on map as their marker came in to the spot, revived the player and they left. At no point could I see either. The only player I saw once into the AO (saw Durka to start with but we both joined the fray at same time) was someone in town who passed me as if sat on an invisible chair like a foot of the ground. 5. Game froze on me, literally locked up and I had to Ctrl-Alt-Del to get out of the game. Did it twice last night, once tonight but I decided to give up after that. Hard as it may be to believe Arma2 is the one game that has never crashed on me like this, until last night. Has anyone else experienced anything like this since 1.05, is it related to the anticheat that was new? I haven't seen any issues like this prior to last night. My 1.05 install appeared to go fine and as the server lets me in it must have been a good install, right? Any help really appreciated before tomorrows TAC night.
  3. Not looking for fixed wing, can barely fly helo but I'm on the server now and it wont let me drive the MHQ.
  4. This thread is intriguing me enough to buy Crysis! Played MW years & years ago, well before I got into GR and it's ilk. Had many a fun day with my Mech
  5. Merry Christmas to all the Sparta guys and the rest of the motley assortment that pass through this great place. I'll be signing off for 2009 an look forward to hooking up with you all in 2010. Watchy
  6. Haven't been on since TAC night but after the server was reset by Zeno, I couldn't get back in. Was in the lobby OK and entered PW for the server and it started to load up but then repeatidly bounced me out. Was on TS at the time and guys who were in before reset were straight back in, so it was definately something about my attempts. Is ArmA2 just funny sometimes or was it the games payback for my less than perfect SL attempts????
  7. Pm'd Zeno but no response. Can anyone see this to send me the PW's?
  8. Happy to volunteer for squad or small team leader. But I'm out on a pre-chrimbo piss-up tonight, so not available for any pre-game tactic stuff, so understand if that makes me ineligable. Failing that, also keen on scout / sniper, first-in role. Getting quite accustomed to blowing up radio towers!!
  9. Will be on from 20:00 and looking forward to it already!
  10. The connection is straight to the camera via the router. The pc isn't actually switched on whilst my friend is at work. The point about seeing the "software" was just proving that I knew we were actually getting through to the camera, as the utililty we were seeing on screen is embedded in the cameras firmware, rather than anything downloaded to the pc's we were trying to view from. All we have to resolve is why thr streaming video doesn't show, which is hopefully tied to the video port we selected and that being blocked by our company.
  11. No problems when connecting from home, installed the ActiveX and the stream was instant. I'm not connected with my employer's IT infrastructure so I have asked for their assistance but they themselves were stumped. We have made a small step forward in that the default video port for the camera is 4231 and this may be blocked at a company level. Although we can change the video port remotely for the camera, I don't think we can do it for the router so it may have to wait until tonight to check. I'll update if the problem gets fixed but any other suggestions greatly appreciated.
  12. Bit of a strange request and one that defo needs experience or knowledge of using IP cameras with a secure network. I have installed an IP camera for a friend, so that she can keep an eye on her dog whilst she is at work. The IP camera is wirelessly connected to her router and after port forwarding and setup of a Dyn DNS host works fine: I have accessed the camera from my own home and can see the real time footage from my friends. We got into work this morning and attempted to view the IP camera through our work PC's. Access is via the DynNDS host name and after downloading the relevant ActiveX control, up popped the IP camera viewer. Now this software viewer is part of the camera's firmware, so by default I know we are getting through the router to the camera. The issue is that we cannot see the streamed video, just get a message that says "Failed to connect to IPCam". A colleague uses a similar setup but with a different package, he has a Linksys system and my friends is Edimax. He can see his own IP camera streaming but even he can't see my friends. Trouble is, he can't remember if he needed our system guys to tweak something and personnel have changed and the current lot are clutching at straws. Anyone ever done something like this or know of a system setting or tweak that is required to allow streamed video over an internal network? We have the usual firewalls in place to detect for spurious web addresses and content but when this is activate we always get a message advising the connection has been blocked. The issue doesn't appear to be OS or Explorer dependant as it has worked on XP & Win7, with IE 6, 7, & 8. At work we've tried PC's running XP and Win7, with IE7 & IE8. Any help would be appreciated.
  13. Can't be there this week, unfortunately but a quick TS question in preperation for next week: I have no whisper keys set but I can always here the CO speaking to my squad leader. In last weeks foray, I always heard T1 speaking to Andrewman & his replacements. Don't hear the squad leaders response though? Example: After 2nd town, I think, when the tusk was badly damaged but we couldn't get an engineer, I heard T1 suggesting I should respawn at base to revive my repair skill & parajump back to the tank. Is this normal, if it is made comms weird for me, hearing one half of a conversation all the time??????
  14. Both by Jethro Tull, "Solstice Bells" and "A Christmas Song" Ta
  15. Never posted vids before so help needed. They were there when I edited the posts and when I first went back to the thread but now I have blank spaces?
  16. Risk is hands down, the best god-damned game ever invented! Still have mine and even though the box is worn to "falling apart", it still has all the bits. Once played for two days straight, using the pieces from three games, man those were epic battles!!!
  17. Easy, I'd redo Ghost Recon. I agree that ArmA2 is as close to OGR as any game comes but I'd still go for a modern update of the original. Best FPS ever!!!
  18. I use the Antec 900 too, great case. Good value for money IMO.
