Got another powerbrick here, tried that already with no joy. The HD is new, well new to the laptop, replaced it about 3 months before last used. Happy to take it apart, anything obvious that you think I should start with or just disconnect as much as I can and add back in until I figure something out?

Tried without the battery, no joy. No multimeter either, so can't check the psu. No other lights, not a sniff from anything.

We're planning on selling the wife's laptop, a Dell Inspiron 1720. Don't expect much for it but fired it up today to reformat, clean up etc. Only it won't start. It hasn't been used for probably a year but when last used was fine and dandy. I appreciate the battery will be flat but it isn't firing up from the mains either. When I press the power button, the power indicator light flashes briefly but that's it, absolutely no sign of life anywhere else. Any thoughts on the issue, which I am assuming is linked to it not being used for so long. It's currently been charging for the last 2 hours but that hasn't made any difference. Thanks, Watchy Edit: Could it be the cmos battery?

That is exactly my problem. I've lost count of the times I've spent 5-10 minutes in a game and just given up.

It's coming up on 7 months and I still can't get any serious interest in games. I've tried various but nothing works, I think I'm too 'old school'. Yearning for the days of OGR. I'll stay around because you're a fun bunch and have opened my eyes to different views but I just can't play any more.

Loved that map, in fact all the MW maps were pretty good.

As you've said, it's in great condition for the age. Always thought they would look good with underseat exhausts, much like the newer models. Wolf Sport do a good quality moulding and exhaust setup but probably not cheap. I saw one in the flesh many years ago, on a 955 in the same colour. The guy had polished the whole frame too, it looked amazing

We're looking to move in the near future, destination a grade 2 listed village. Consequently there is no current fibre optic installation, as they can't install roadside cabinets. Having looked at the options, best value is plusnet, with the added bonus that they review very highly within their customer Base. The bit that frustrates me in all this is that if it isn't Virgin cable, then they're all using BT infrastructure but you have wildly different costs.

If Talk Talk became the only Internet provider, I'd give up and go outside in the sunshine.

Have they stopped the f35 catching fire, yet?

Bought this last week as all my Dayz mod servers seem to be dead or dying? Have to say I'm really enjoying it so far, gameplay is smoother than the mod, gfx are slightly better and the complexity of survival looks like it will make it an interesting game. I'm on my 6th life and settling into things. After spawning just south of Vybor (lucky me) I was able to navigate through the town, grabbing bits of food, drink and the such like. A weapon came quickly by virtue of a fireman's axe, which enabled me to despatch a few zed's that even my quiet skulking still managed to attract. I eventually found my way to the NW airfield and further scavenging brought better clothes, bigger backpack and an AK to supplement the axe. There seems to be a lot of ammo around but I soon discovered that without the appropriate magazine it's worthless, illustrated perfectly by my Makarov and 70 rounds of 380 auto but no means to load, not even a single round in the breach. Food and water are plentiful, bandages can be crafted from clothes but it would seem only those items in pristine condition. Melee combat is still frustrating, although the ability to punch is a novel albeit risky inclusion. I'm currently hunkered down at the SE corner of the airfield and my plan for the next visit on is to complete a search of the airfield in the hopes of finding an elusive pistol mag, then to head off toward one of the bigger towns. For those still considering the stand -alone and like me, never happier than zombie bashing, I'd recommend this highly.
