  1. That does indeed look interesting, I'll keep an eye on that and may take the plunge.
  2. I watched all of that and enjoyed it and it's a car I could quite happily own. Mechanically seems very well engineered, European to use a simple analogy and the styling is a huge improvement on the previous model. Nice job all round, I think.
  3. It's me again. Daughter's now 18 and looking for a safe server to use. Would also be her boyfriend who's 25 (i know!) but sensible and a decent gaming type. If not the Sparta server can you recommend somewhere they can use without getting grief? Cheers.
  4. Belated birthday wishes, hope it was a fun day.
  5. Belated happy b'day, hope you had a good one.
  6. Mine's an Asus board. Quite old though, must be 7-8 years.
  7. I used to have that problem when browsing. None of the tweaks I tried worked so I went for a cheapish sound card and that did the trick.
  8. I decided not to go for it in the end, more down to cash priorities then anything else but I may be tempted if it pops up in future sales. My PC is around the same specs do at least that worry is put to bed. I'll stick to War Thunder for now.
  9. You make a good point regarding the potential waste if money on horizon, if it turns out I don't like the game. I think what threw me was the overwhelming negativity in the reviews, I had to scroll through two pages to get anything positive and I've never seen that level of response before. Out of interest, why did you need a second game to explore, are you tied to your character from the start, are there no options to change? I may take the plunge if it's still on sale, just need to consider my PC capabilities. It meets the minimum comfortably but there I'd no option for upgrading, so there is some performance risk involved.
  10. Almost went for the steam sale version until I read the reviews, 9.99 for what seems to be the now out of date original Elite Dangerous version. Many suggesting that without Horizons at £40 it's pointless. Is this correct?
  11. Well, I've tried Epsilon and it's certainly an improvement on Takedown. I'm not convinced on the graphics yet, although I enjoy that style with Borderlands I feel that this should have a little more realism to it but that may change. The planning stage is a welcome addition, very GR and R6. It's not perfect yet, I've had a few attempts go wrong when squad members didn't follow the plan but that could of course, be my poor planning! It's a good start and hopefully a solid game on full release. MP should be fun I think.
  12. That looks sweet, way better than a truck!
  13. I understand your logic regarding the punitive steps but assuming by 'non VW assets' you mean other brands such as Skoda, Seat, Bentley, Lamborghini, Bugatti etc then there will be fallout. VW, Audi,Seat, Skoda all share a common platform technology that is planned at least 5 years in advance. You can't just sell off Audi, Seat and Skoda without having serious technology agreements in place. Then The likes of Bentley, Bugatti and Lamborghini will be a nightmare to shift due to the cost and the fact they are seriously in the red. Bentley alone owes circa 250 million to VW, which is budgeted to pay back over a number of years. Bugatti sell at a loss. This companies sell and the little man gets hit. Happened when Ford sold Aston Martin, these brands are luxuries and won't shift easily.
  14. I don't doubt for one second that fairly senior people were involved in this decision. stuff like this just doesn't happen at lower / middle levels of staffing. Plus, this is not the first time VW have been caught up in a big scandal, they seem to have an appetite for the easy win.
  15. It will be interesting to see how this impacts on Bosch and I know they already put out a comment saying they advised VW Group not to do this. But having worked for VW group via Bentley and dealt with Bosch previously, they are a company notorious for not letting you have access to their tech at a level where you can tinker with the code. All of that was done in-house to customer requirements.
  16. Happy belated b'day Cy, hope it was a good one.
