Thanks Custard... I figured it was old news but folks come into technologies at different times so I thought I'd go ahead and post it. Best thing I ever did for my board was dump the new 1305 and EZ Flash back to 1301. It went from zero overclocking to a modest 25% on the CPU so far (2.4 to 3.0 on Q6600). The RAM still doesn't want to move for me though. 1066 Mhz OCZ RAM seems to be stuck at 800 Mhz. Cheers

Anyone running a Striker Extreme or P5N32 SLI/Plus may be interested in this if you don't know it already. This isn't breaking news but since the board is new to me I'm just now hearing about it. FYI: OCZ Looks into ASUS Striker Peace (edit to add P5 reference)

Hey Punisher, I would recommend only buying PSUs from folks that manufacture them as their specialty and not re-branders. Power supplies are a lot more involved than most realize and I would say take a look at these two, understand the data sheets and then see who can compare on all points. Enermax Galaxy PC Power and Cooling Turbo Cool I put up the 1KW as a reference point for 'future growth'. They both make less powerful and more economical versions. Just my 2 cents

I was a member of this range for almost 15 years and shot primarily Action Pistol, Action Rifle, High Power Rifle and the assorted shotgun fields (sporting clays was my favorite) plus just fun plinkin'. We had folks that would drive for several hours to attend matches here. I was lucky enough to live 15 minutes away. Anybody near this range should check it out (you have to be sponsored in for membership) as it's a superb facility. Just fyi... River Bend

If you're going to be spending any time at the range you need a source of reliable ammo and not the box at a time retail stuff. I've shot this ammo for a very, very long time in many calibers without incident. Take a look: Georgia Arms Hope it helps and shoot safely. Cheers...

After Snowshoe's and Kiwi's post I want to jab this in my eyes ;-)

You might want to take a look at the 'Sensor' page under 'Computer' on Everest just to make sure that RAM voltage isn't as high as nMon says it is. Should look something like this: As long as it's below 2.2 or so you should be fine. Take a quick look to be sure. Peace

So it's the RAM timings that have you concerned? If the BIOS is set to 'auto' for the timings in most cases it will set them looser than you could get by doing it manually. That may be all that's going on here and no reason for major concern. Once you learn a bit more about your mobo and it's BIOS then you can start working on tightening these timings up. I'm going thru a bit of PC hell myself right now so sorry for the brief response but from what I can see that appears to be what's happenin'. Let that system 'burn-in' for a while at stock settings while you cruise the forums and get the feel for what your rig is capable of. Unless you're a seasoned vet at this stuff (I certainly am not) then slow and easy would be my recommendation. Those timings will make a difference on the benchmarks but as far as real world stuff you'll barely notice any difference so relax and enjoy your new rig. Play some games and have some fun....don't sweat the small stuff....yet BTW nTune is reportedly crap and most OC types uninstall it. That 3v reading on your RAM is a case in point.
